Keiichi is a student of the Nekomi Institute of Technology and a member of the NIT Motor Club. One day Keiichi accidentally dialed the Goddess Relief Office. Before he could begin to comprehend what on earth was going on the beautiful Goddess Belldandy warped into Keiichi&#039;s dorm to grant him a wish. Convinced his sempais (older classmates) are playing a prank on him as he has no luck with girls, Keiichi wishes for a girl like Belldandy to be by his side forever. Yamato is a character in the anime and manga series Digimon Adventure, Digimon Adventure 02 and Digimon Adventure tri. He is a DigiDestined, partnered with Gabumon, and the bearer of the Crest of Friendship. He is the older brother of Takeru Takaishi.

Yamato starts as a secretive loner with a cool demeanor. He is mature, thoughtful and level-headed, and more likely to think things through than charge head-on. He is a deeply caring person who will do anything for a friend and is very protective of his loved ones. He is prone to second-guessing and self-deprecation when he cannot protect others—his self-worth hinges on his ability to be a good friend. Unlike Tai, who is more willing to look at the "big picture", sometimes to the detriment of his friends, Yamato always tries to focus on the good of his small circle of friends. As a teenager, he is more laid-back and easygoing and is more willing to support his friends risking themselves against enemy Digimon. However, he still reacts strongly when his friends are under pressure, such as when the news depicted the team's Digimon as monsters, and Tai became reluctant to defend their reputation due to fears about possible casualties. He is also a good singer. 

Yamato's younger brother, Takeru Takaishi, is also one of the eight DigiDestined, but their parents are divorced and so they cannot spend much time together. He is very protective of Takeru and often acts harshly when Takeru is in trouble. After their adventures in the Digital World, their relationship becomes closer, and Matt trusts T.K. more, acknowledging his burgeoning independence.

Prince of Fanelia, pilot of Escaflowne, Van Fanel suddenly appears on Earth one day, fighting a Dragon. His life narrowly saved by Hitomi, a schoolgirl caught up in the battle, Van returns to his kingdom only for it to be torched to the ground a few days later. Van vows revenge on the perpetrators - the Zaibach Empire - even when he finds that Folken, his supposedly dead elder-brother, is working for them. With Hitomi's help, Van embarks on a journey of revenge against those that destroyed his home.    ~!He also slowly falls in love with Hitomi, though his love isn't immediately and entirely reciprocated.Van Fanel is the young half-Draconian king of Fanelia who must learn to cope with drastic changes in his life after Fanelia is destroyed by Zaibach. He pilots Escaflowne, a Guymelef made by the mysterious Ispano tribe which can transform into a flying dragon. He earns his right to pilot Escaflowne through a blood pact which connects his body and soul to Escaflowne. Due to the blood pact and Hitomi's influence, Van becomes injured when the Escaflowne is damaged, and these wounds will not close until Escaflowne is repaired. Consequently, if Escaflowne is destroyed, Van will die.  His destiny and Hitomi's are linked, and he is initially dependent on Hitomi's clairvoyant abilities, which save his life more than once. He also holds a grudge against Folken for leaving his native kingdom of Fanelia for Zaibach and Dornkirk for his grand ambitions. Due to being half-Draconian, Van is able to manifest a pair of feathered wings which enable him to fly!~ 

Dominic Sorel is the youngest to be second lieutenant and Dewey's subordinate. He is assigned to Anemone to tend to her needs and monitor her physical and mental condition. It's never explained why Dominic was promoted so fast, especially given his occasional naivete. There are men in the military far older than him and yet of much lower rank, who often have trouble obeying his orders. Dominic is also aware that commanding officers give him a hard time following his orders for Dewey as they think he's still a kid.

~!Kaworu Nagisa is both the 17th Angel and the Fifth Child. Although classified as an Angel, Kaworu is similar to Rei Ayanami in being a Seed of Life that inhabits a human body. Despite his human form, Kaworu does not consider himself to be human, since he refers to humans as "the Lilin".!~

Kimiaki is one of Keitaro's childhood friends. He loves to make fun of Keitaro, calling him a failure in girls and academics, but pulls back later on when Keitaro becomes more successful. He almost always appears with Haitani. His main interests are in women, and one of his only upside is some degree of skill in computers. He is short, and is almost always shown with big round glasses. In the manga's fifth volume, Su even calls him a "small, fat, Hobbit". One running gag in the series is that none of the girls in the Hinata Inn can remember who Shirai and Haitani are, even though the two are often in their presence.

Ritsuka's older brother. He was seventeen when he was found murdered, although he died under mysterious circumstances and could only be identified by his dental records. We later learn that Seimei had faked his death, but who was the person that died in his place has not yet been revealed. He is also the sacrifice of the Beloved pair. Soubi was given to Seimei (mostly at Seimei's request) as a fighter when Seimei was only 14 years old. It is speculated by fans that there is some kind of rivalry between Seimei and Ritsu over Soubi and perhaps over other things, but there's no information in the series that confirms these speculations.  When Ritsuka lost his memory, Seimei stepped in and became an extremely important figure in his life. He protected Ritsuka from their abusive mother, Misaki, and was a great source of comfort and trust. As a result, Ritsuka was hit hardest of all by the news of his brother's death. He is very bitter and vengeful towards those who may have been involved in the killing of his brother.  His personality is subject of great debate, and many readers have very different interpretations of his actions. To make things more confusing, the characters in the story themselves clash with their different beliefs and experiences. Ritsuka, Soubi, and Misaki claim Seimei was a kind, gentle, loving person. In contrast, everyone else has the very opposite idea: they say he was cruel, merciless, and hateful. They claim Seimei acted strangely and would be close to no one, and go so far as refusing to eat in the presence of anyone else. Ritsuka denies all of this; however, in recent chapters published in spring 2006 he has some startling flashbacks that show a more disturbed, obsessive side of Seimei, and even sometimes borderline incestuous behavior towards Ritsuka.  In flashbacks in later manga chapters, it has become increasingly clear that Seimei suffers from mysophobia, a fear of contamination of dirt or germs, although it is largely reader speculation based off his obsessive behaviour about cleanliness and such innocent items such as homemade food being "dirty."  Currently, he and Nisei, the true Beloved fighter, have traveled to Goura and has infiltrated the Academy of Seven Voices. His reasons for this infiltration has not yet been revealed. He betrayed Nisei by refusing to assist him in a two vs. one spell battle with Ritsuka and Soubi. This kind of action is very much consistent with the many negative beliefs that most of the characters in the series have about Seimei.

Tetsu's over protective, easily worried and rather high-strung older brother/guardian (also an actual member of the Shinsengumi). He is polite, soft spoken, and down to earth. After the death of their parents, he had to take care of himself and his brother. He, in accordance with his more pacifist outlook, works only as a bookkeeper for the Shinsengumi. He has tried to put all thoughts of revenge for his parents' deaths out of his mind, but convincing his younger brother to do the same is a little more difficult. Tatsu has a habit of apologizing for his little brother.

Gojyo is a half-demon, made obvious by his red hair and eyes, who loves to gamble and is fond of women looking for a good time. He is often teased by Goku and Sanzo due to his lecherous behavior. However, he is a loyal and reliable friend who will go through extreme lengths for them when the need arises. His weapon in battle is a _shakujou_, a staff with a crescent-moon shaped blade attached to the end by a chain that can be elongated.

The major in the FAF is English. He has a desk job and is in charge of combat mission management, such as guidance of maneuvers plan and fuselage service and adjustment of sortie schedule. His priority is making sure that the pilots are returning home alive especially Second Lieutenant Fukai who is his subordinate. He is the only person to attempt to befriend Fukai, to get him to &quot;loosen up&quot; to deal with stress of battle. His hobby is boomerang making and their aerodynamic characteristics. 

Watanuki (a name meaning "April 1" in kanji) is known for having both a volatile and caring personality. Depending upon the person he talks to, his emotions tend to be overly exaggerated. He lives alone because his parents died when he was young, but harder than these conditions is the fact that his everyday life is plagued with strange spirits that only he can see, and they are drawn to him. Apparently this was inherited- it is noted that his blood smells good to spirits.

One average day, while Watanuki is being chased by a legion of spirits, he comes across a strange house which the spirits are repelled by. He feels compelled to enter, and there meets Yuuko, who claims that it is a store which grants wishes in exchange for a price. Watanuki asks for the spirits to stop chasing him, and Yuuko agrees to granting it but only if Watanuki works as a helper in the shop until he accumulates enough time for her to make his wish come true. This is the beginning of Watanuki's part time job. As time goes by, Watanuki meets many different people who help him to develop and change his opinions on the world, and also to understand the world from Yuuko's perspective, which also helps him to mature. 

~!When half way through both the anime and manga he loses the sight in his right eye due to a spider's grudge curse, his left iris turns a dull milky grey color. After failing to retrieve his sight in this eye , he receives half of Doumeki's right eye's sight, which causes his right eye to turn a dark green with a brownish tint (in the Anime), or gold-brown (in the Manga).!~

~!When Yuko disappears and he takes over the shop, his personality takes a drastic change as he adopts a number of Yuko's mannerisms. He still despises Doumeki and thinks that Mokona is annoying, but is shown to be considerably calmer; more reserved and a lot more mature, clearly shown by his acceptance of Himawari's marriage and wishing his condolences and his understanding of his customers' wishes.!~

A dragon of heaven, Sorata is an upbeat, irreverent teenager possessing considerable occult abilities, raised by the Shingon Buddhist monks of Kōyasan after being taken away from his mother at a young age. A gourmand, he was frequently in trouble at the shrine for stealing food between meals (insisting that he couldn&#039;t wait until dinner), and is also a competent cook. It was prophesied that he would protect Kamui with his life, but that he would die for a woman; the first time he meets Arashi, he decides she will be the one. Jonouchi is Yugi&#039;s best friend. At the beginning Jonouchi used to bully Yugi but after being saved by Yugi from an even more of a dangerous thug, Jonouchi has been pals with Yugi ever since. Jonouchi likes to hang around with Yugi and learns a lot of new games. He&#039;s not always confident that he&#039;ll win his games but he always tries his best. He enters the Duelist Kingdom Tournament to get money for his sister, Shizuka, who is losing her eyesight. He wants to use the money for her surgery.

Heiji is a high school detective, and the son of [Heizo Hattori,](https://anilist.co/character/30367/Heizo-Hattori) chief of the Osaka Police Department, and his wife [Shizuka Hattori.](https://anilist.co/character/41038/Shizuka-Hattori) Heiji wants to be a detective like his father since spending his childhood looking for lost cats in his neighborhood, and he is also very skilled in kendo and has become a favored tournament contender for his school. 

At one time during their childhood, Heiji had had the unfortunate idea of locking himself and his friend [Kazuha](https://anilist.co/character/3198/Kazuha-Toyama) together with a set of old handcuffs which had no key to unlock it; as a result they involuntarily had to spend time together even on some rather intimate occasions _(i.e., bathroom visits)_ before the cuffs could be removed. As a reminder of this 'closeness' and for good luck, Kazuha fashioned two identical lucky charms, each incorporating a chain link from the cuffs, which she and Heiji have been wearing ever since.

In the news, Heiji has been publicly declared the "Great Detective of the West", while [Shinichi Kudo](https://anilist.co/character/1742/Conan-Edogawa) is the "Great Detective of the East". As a result, Heiji showed up unannounced at the Mouri Detective Agency looking for Kudo, seeking to challenge his rival to a showdown of wits. _(In fact, they had such a contest before, three years previously, during a skiing trip in the Yamagata prefecture, although they never learned about each other's identities at that time.)_ Heiji was soundly defeated in the following case after Conan Edogawa temporarily turned back into Shinichi, but he gained a lot of respect for Shinichi in the process.

During their second encounter, Conan knocked Heiji out to use him as the mouthpiece for the voice-changing bow-tie. But during his final presentation of the facts, Heiji awoke prematurely and discovered Conan's secret, and in the end managed to blackmail Conan into revealing all. Ever since that revelation, Heiji has been helping Conan in hiding his secret identity, though he constantly slips up by calling him "Kudo" in front of [Ran](https://anilist.co/character/1748/Ran-Mouri) and Kazuha. 

Heiji and Conan most often congenially team up to solve assorted cases. Heiji has also helped Conan investigate the Black Organization on several occasions, such as when the two investigated [Jodie Starling,](https://anilist.co/character/26754/Jodie-Starling) or when Heiji investigated [Eisuke Hondou](https://anilist.co/character/5351/Eisuke-Hondou) on his own and then told Conan his findings, but he never had a real direct confrontation with the primary antagonist. He has also helped cover for Conan during several of the brief instances where Conan regained his true adolescent age, and has even disguised himself as Shinichi on several occasions in order to protect his identity, even though he is not very good at it _(mostly owing to his distinctive Kansai dialect)._ When not working on a case, he regularly attempts to invite Conan to take in the sights and culinary delights of Osaka, which he considers more wholesome than Tokyo's.

Genzo Wakabayashi is an extraordinary goalkeeper who can catch almost anything thrown at him. Not many shots can come past Genzo. A charismatic guy, Genzo is also loyal to his friends and he is firm with his decisions. Genzo always keeps his feelings to himself and people close to him as seen in Shin Captain Tsubasa, when he&#039;s willingly criticize his teammates&#039; performance in order to make them realize that football in Europe is different than what they play in Japan. His actions caused a lot of Japanese players to dislike him and Genzo only told Tsubasa his true intentions. From early childhood, he has aimed to be the best goalkeeper in the world. He tended to be selfish, and brag about his skills before he met and played a couple of games against Tsubasa. After his match against Tsubasa, he has learned to enjoy the game with his other teammates.

Mitsuru specializes in close combat, using his ultra-destructive punching power as his main weapon. He is characterized as large cyclops with a long sledge hammer, just like his nickname. When coupled with the speed of his AT, Mitsuru's punches result in damage of diabolical proportions. During the Behemoth VS Kogarasumaru challenge, he fought Ikki and was thoroughly defeated. Mitsuru clearly has far more punching power, but Ikki was able to beat him by playing a form of paper, rock, scissors. Due to the amount of muscle on Mitsuru's forarms, the speed of his fingers is slightly reduced which gave Ikki enough time to react to his choice accordingly. With the arrest of Akira at the hands of the Wind SWAT team, Bandō now seeks to establish his own Storm Rider team. Mitsuru's battle level is 78 during the Behemoth arc. - &quot;Wikipedia&quot;

Unlike other members of Gilgamesh, his Dynamis takes shape in the form of Lightning strikes as demonstrated in episode eighteen when Tria singlehandedly destroys an Army of Blattaria. Tria's personality comes off as very angry and snobbish. Tria can be recognized by his long blond hair. There is an underlying tension between Tria and Novem over who should lead Gilgamesh. Tria does not see the killing of humans wrong as much as a cleansing. His mark is found on his hand.

He has half of the scroll and so he has to marry the girl with the other half. Apparently his group can only eat pickled vegetables and rice. He is almost always seen with a bowl of rice and chopsticks, and he blocks attacks with those chopsticks.
