Satoshi (known as Ash Ketchum in most international territories) is the main character of the Pocket Monsters anime. He is also the main character of various manga based on the anime, including but not limited to Dengenki Pikachu, Satoshi to Pikachu, and Pocket Monsters Diamond & Pearl. He is a Pokémon Trainer from Masara Town whose goal is to become a Pokémon Master. His starter Pokémon was a Pikachu that he received from Professor Okido after arriving late at his laboratory.

He shares his Japanese name with the creator of the Pocket Monsters franchise, Satoshi Tajiri. His international surname is a pun of the English motto, "Gotta catch 'em all!." 

She first appeared in the episode May, We Harley Drew'd Ya!. It was revealed in the episode that she had defeated Drew in his very first Pokémon Contest, which caused him to cry. Since then they seem to have become friends. They see each other often in Contests and they also keep in touch. She also noticed that Drew became more competitive, and she thinks May is the reason for this.  She also saw Brock often when he was still the leader of Pewter Gym, and he knew her from before as well.  Solidad stated that she is old friends with Harley, and that she finds him to be an interesting person.  She competed against May in the Kanto Grand Festival, which she won. In an interesting comparison, May also cried after being defeated by Solidad. She was last known to be traveling in Johto and in Staging a Heroes' Welcome!, she made a cameo appearance along with Harley and Drew, watching May perform at the Wallace Cup. She is Ash&#039;s mother. Delia is very caring of her son, always reminding him to do his best. She is very talented, having won a beauty pageant and cooked a dish so popular that elite chefs at the Indigo Plateau have asked for its recipe. It is not known who is the father of Ash, but it isn&#039;t clear that Ash&#039;s parents have separated, although she has contacted him at least once since Ash left. She has a Mr. Mime housekeeper who helps her with chores and is also rather adept in battle. In the Japanese version, the name of Satoshi&#039;s mother was, for a long time, unrevealed (with her referring to herself as Satoshi no haha or referred as Mama-san, although the role was credited as Hanako). Fuuro is the Gym Leader of Fukiyose City's Gym, known officially as the Fukiyose Gym. She specializes in Flying-type Pokémon.   Her Pokémon are: Swanna, Kokoromori and Kenhallow. 

Kamitsure is the Gym Leader of Raimon City's Gym. She specializes in Electric-type Pokémon and gives the Bolt Badge to Trainers who defeat her.  

In the games, Kamitsure uses two Emonga and a Zebstrika. In the anime, she uses a Zebraika, Emonga, and Shibishirasu.

Momi is a Pokémon Trainer from Sinnoh. She specializes in Pokémon with high HP.

Holly (Japanese: ホノカ Honoka) is a minor recurring character in the Pok&eacute;mon anime. She first appeared in Tag! We&#039;re It! as Brock&#039;s tag battle partner.    At first, Holly did not show any interest in Brock, saying that she had no interest in &quot;younger men,&quot; but after battling together with him she formed an attraction to him, impressed by his battling skills. Later, in Glory Blaze, she seemed jealous that he was flirting with Nurse Joy. Later on, she was seen to have &quot;heart-eyes&quot; while watching Brock battle.    After Holly and Brock lost the battle against Ash and Paul, she couldn&#039;t help but feel responsible for the loss. Afterwards, she left without saying goodbye to him. Rhonda pops up out of nowhere in several episodes of Diamond &amp; Pearl. She is the host of the popular show Sinnoh Now. Her best moments include interviewing powerful trainers, great champions, coordinators of all sorts, and getting bonked on the head because of the dopey boom operator Jack.

Johanna is Dawn/Hikari&#039;s mother and a former Grand Festival champion in her day.    Johanna made her debut appearance in the anime in Following A Maiden&#039;s Voyage!.    She used to be a great Pok&eacute;mon Coordinator and is also a former winner of the Grand Festival. Dawn wanted to follow in her footsteps and become a great coordinator as well. When Dawn left on her journey, Johanna gave her one of her old ribbons.    In The Bells are Singing!, it was revealed that she sewed Buneary&#039;s vest. As a young girl, she was shown participating in a Contest in a flashback in Battling the Generation Gap! against her childhood rival, Lila.    In Battling a Cute Drama! Ash, Brock, and Dawn received their new outfits from her.    Johanna appeared in Strategy Begins at Home! and met Ash and Brock in person for the first time. She used Glameow and an Umbreon in a double battle with her daughter, which she quickly won. While one might think that her skills might have gotten rusty since she became a mom, it turns out that she teaches a Coordinator class out of her home, and even has a battlefield behind her house for instructing her students. As a result, her skills are still as sharp as ever.    In Challenging a Towering Figure!, Johanna was the hostess for the tournament which was a part of the Twinleaf Festival. She wore a gown during the occasion.    She appeared in a brief cameo in DP174, DP175 and DP176 watching Dawn compete in the Sinnoh Grand Festival, then again in person in DP177 in the audience. Lila is a one-time character of the anime who appeared in the episode Battling The Generation Gap!. Her hometown is Celestic Town, where she is also known as the &quot;Tiger Lily of Celestic Town&quot;.    It was revealed that she was once Johanna&#039;s old rival. She first appeared as a child in a flashback battling Johanna in a Contest, in which she won her fourth ribbon.    She was also the first person to ever defeat Johanna in contests. However she got the offer of studying for becoming a Pok&eacute;mon stylist abroad and decided to quit being a Coordinator after discussing it with Johanna. She started her own fashion store as well. She also designed Wallace&#039;s outfit for Contests.    After watching her rival&#039;s daughter participating in Contests, she decided to enter a Contest once more. She entered the Celestic Town Contest as did Dawn where she aimed to battle her similarly to how she battled against her mother. Both of them made it to the finals and after a hard fought battle, Dawn won the Celestic Ribbon.    After the Contest, Lila let Ash and the others pick out outfits from her shop free of charge. Mimirol is a small, bipedal, rabbit-like Pokémon with brown ears that can curl up. It has two types of fur covering its body: a light tan fleece that covers much of its lower body, feet, and the tips of its ears, and a smooth chocolate colored pelt on the upper half of its body. It has a small, triangular pink nose, pink paw pads on the undersides of its feet, and small tan spots above its eyes. It has a small brown puff of a tail.

If Mimirol senses danger, it perks up both ears. It can also be a sign that Mimirol needs care due to something wrong with its body and mind. It can deliver powerful blows with its curled up ears, and it has an impressive jumping ability. It can be usually seen with one rolled up ear to swiftly counterattack when needed. It can increase this attack's power through training. On cold nights, Mimirol sleeps with its head tucked into its fur. It lives in forests, though it can also be found on icy mountains. It is most likely herbivorous. Mimirol also likes to eat certain kinds of flowers found in the wild.

Mukubird is a grayish-brown, avian Pokémon with black and white markings. Its head and upper body are primarily black with an "M"-shaped pattern over its white chest. On its forehead is a grayish-brown spot, which is smaller on the female. On its face is a white, mask-like marking with a pattern of spikes along the lower edge. It has small, black eyes with white pupils and a long, orange beak with a black tip. On the back of its head is a long tuft of feathers, which curves forward. The lower halves of its wings are black, and it has black tail feathers with a single white feather in the center. Its orange, anisodactyl feet have black talons.

Mukubird lives near forests and fields, where it hunts for Bug Pokémon. Aware of its own weakness, it forms flocks of its own kind and cries noisily if left on its own. However, these flocks can be extremely territorial. When two different groups meet, they will have fierce territorial disputes.

Alya is very hardworking to the point she loathes people who don't put in effort. When she was younger, she was disappointed with the lack of motivation from her classmates and this made her realize how ignorant they were, which created an unconscious condescension within her. Once she realized that, she drew a line in order to avoid any conflict with those around her, making her feel distant and reserved to others. For better or worse she doesn't rely on anyone.
