In the beginning of the series, Isshin is portrayed as a silly, fight-loving father who takes a keen interest in what his children are doing, but does it either offensively or with an all-too-happy tone, which elicits comical reactions from his kids, usually in the form of a kick. Isshin also seems to enjoy making fun of Ichigo and has a tendency to talk to the large memorial poster of his late wife Masaki, which he has pinned up in their kitchen, whenever he feels particularly emotional. Isshin is a big fan of Don Kanonji&#039;s TV show. Despite his outrageous guise, however, Isshin can be serious and grim at times. On the date of Masaki&#039;s death, Isshin smokes a single cigarette in front of her grave, since she thought it made him look cool (she said it when they were dating). He reflects that it was the first and last time she ever complimented his appearance. He also told Ichigo that he shouldn&#039;t blame himself for his mother&#039;s death because she gave her life to protect him. 

~!In addition, during his confrontation with the arrancar Grand Fisher and the subsequent chat with Kisuke Urahara, he remains completely serious (aside from a short argument between him and Kon about his parenting, and another, albeit short, between him and Urahara after the latter likens him to his son). Isshin appears to be an associate of Kisuke Urahara and possesses knowledge of Sōsuke Aizen&#039;s alliance with the Menos. He mentions in his conversation with Urahara that he encountered arrancar about ten years before the main storyline, though they were nowhere near as complete as Fisher. He also reveals to Kon that he has been aware of Ichigo&#039;s shinigami activities and Kon&#039;s substitutions since Grand Fisher&#039;s first attack. He also notes that he has never called Kon &quot;Ichigo&quot; while Kon is in Ichigo&#039;s body and that the traveling charm he gave Ichigo before he went to rescue Rukia was actually for Kon (it&#039;s a protection talisman). This shows the sensitivity and propriety that he possesses of his role as Ichigo&#039;s father, which is rarely portrayed in the series. Isshin also shares a relationship with Ryūken Ishida not unlike that of their sons. When Ryūken discovers his son is missing, Isshin pays him a visit and the two chat about their respective styles of parenting. It is then revealed that Ryūken was aware of Isshin&#039;s status, and he comments on Isshin&#039;s powers. The Bleach Official Animation Book VIBEs states that the two have some prior history together, and that they have been acquaintances for quite some time. It can also be noted they both are doctors, Isshin runs a clinic while Ryūken runs a hospital. There have been hints that the two cooperate on a professional level, with Isshin handling minor cases, and occasionally requesting aid from Ryūken.!~

A scientist who formerly worked for Lightning and then Millennion, he developed the necrolyzation dead regeneration technique, eventually utilizing it to bring Grave back to life.  When Mika came to him, he knew that it was time to let Grave do what he does best. He later died due to an injury when confronting Balladbird Lee in his &quot;Superior&quot; form. Emperor Pilaf's ninja crony who apparently is a humanoid dog. He and Mai usually work together to carry out the work of their vertically-challenged and short tempered Emperor. He's one of the first villains in the Dragon Ball series, but perhaps villain is too strong a word for such a weakling. He's almost comic relief. Originally known as Soba in the manga, but was renamed due to match the anime name given after Akira Toriyama forgot he had named him previously. He appears along with Mai and Pilaf in two episodes of Dragonball GT.

A robot, once a man, who paid to have his body forged with a mechanized exoskeleton, much like the Nobuseri. He is often looked upon as a clown or a bother; he gets angry easily and often causes trouble. He carries the biggest of the swords, which also acts as a chainsaw when need be. At first rejected by the other six, Kambei accepts Kikuchiyo into the fold when the latter reveals his reasoning for helping the villagers - that he, too, came from a family of farmers. He is a largely sympathetic character, having literally given up his flesh to become a samurai and change his fate as a poor farmer. He is well liked by the villagers, especially by little Komachi, who asks him to become her husband when she grows up, a request that he accepts in return for her keeping his (fake) family tree. But when Ukyo&#039;s fortress is set on a collision course with Kanna village, Kikuchiyo places himself between the two. Using all his strength, he single-handedly (literally) stops the enormous fortress from hitting Kanna. But the strength he used to stop the fortress was so intense that he melted down to almost nothing, leaving only his feet where he had planted himself into the ground.!~

Godwin Austin is the lead mechanic of the Silvana flight deck crew. He is the largest and most aggressive out of the group.

Monev the Gale is the first Gung-Ho Gun to fight Vash. Knives locks him in a cell to train his body for twenty years in order to gain the skill and power required to kill Vash. He wears a powered battle suit and carries two high-powered chain guns on his arms. These guns fire extremely fast due to the pressure chambers located on his back, and have tremendous stopping power, enough to tear through entire buildings. He also carries a wide variety of weapons in a big cloth rucksack, including an enormous minigun, powerful enough to punch through a bank vault. Before joining Red Shield, David was the sole survivor of a chiropteran attack on his special forces squad. His father was also a member of Red Shield and was one of Saya's victims in the Vietnam incident. It is implied that he, along with Joel, are the only members that are descended from a line of Red Shield operatives. He is aware of Saya's past life and wishes to use her in the struggle against the chiroptera. David's red crystal item is a cross.   David tends to be straight-faced and serious, with a cold personality. However, he also assumes an unofficial guardianship of Kai and Riku, and would be instrumental in helping Kai come to terms with what Saya is and with Riku's conversion to a chevalier. He seems to take a particular interest in helping Kai grow up to be a strong man who can support Saya and Riku as their brother, despite their unusual natures.    ~!When the Red Shield's headquarters are destroyed and Saya is believed to have gone down with it, David sinks into a deep depression and becomes an alcoholic. Kai helps him get back on his feet, though, and he returns to his duties slightly more cheerful and able to smile than he had been before.   During the investigations into one of Cinq Flèches's lab, he finds Julia and she tells him something about the research they are doing. He talks to her briefly again at Amshel's party, and lets her know that she will always be welcome back with the group.   Towards the end of the series, Dr. Collins tries to murder Julia, but David protects her, getting critically wounded himself. Wilhelm van Astrea né Trias, is a member of the Crusch Camp and was Theresia van Astrea's husband.

Wilhelm is a refined man with a highly gentle and humble demeanor. However unearth that even temperament belied a fierce warrior who often is the first to help when something happens. However this wasn't always the case as in youth, Wilhelm was very opposite of who he was in his later years. Brash, afoot, short tempered, lonely and often cold with others. He was a troubled individual who devoted himself wholly to the sword and cared for little else. Even so, he knew how to analyze a situation, always finding a way out. Nonetheless, Theresia greatly influenced his personality, becoming increasingly sociable and protective, achieving more results during the Demi-human War. It was through her most of all that he would become the person he is today.

Number XI of the Chronos Numbers, he is Cerberus Unit's long range attacker. He wields a bazooka named &quot;Verethragna.&quot; He dies helping Jenos and Naizer escape from the Apostles of the Stars' collapsing hideout after a failed attempt on Creed's life due to Jenos's thoughtless intervention.  

Belouga is identical to his manga counterpart, except in the Anime it isn't told if he dies or not in the escape, but is presumed so as he does not appear in the story after the attack on the castle. The last we see of him is an effort by himself and Naizer to attack Creed, the Camera shot pans to give us a a view of the ruined castle, and a large explosion can be seen. While fighting through the Castle, he engages Shiki in a battle. Shiki thinks he is simply wasting his attacks and firing wildly, but realises too late that his true target was the supporting walls of the castle, leading the building to collapse.

Former General Philip Gargantos Armstrong is is the current head of the illustrious Armstrong family, father to Major Alex Louis Armstrong, Major General Olivier Mira Armstrong, and their younger sisters Amue, Strongine, and Kathleen Elle. His wife's name is not known. A bit of a windbag, Philip enjoys relating stories of his family's grandeur and his own eventful military career to anyone unfortunate enough to become his captive audience, and seems to have passed on this family pride to Alex. Being a former General, it would seem that Philip is a rather insightful man, quickly understanding from Oliver's demands for the Armstrong estate that Amestris was no longer safe, and taking his wife and daughter Kathleen off to Xing on an "extended vacation". An old reclusive automail master. His lifelong dream was to build automail with hidden cannons inside them, and he had the opportunity to do just that with Paninya&#039;s automail legs. Winry begs him to let her be his apprentice, but he defers her to Garfiel instead, even though Winry helped deliver his grandson.    It is noteworthy that when he found out Winry was the granddaughter of Pinako Rockbell, he flipped out, as apparently he has some memories about the &quot;Pantheress of Resembool&quot; that he would rather forget (&quot;Leopardess of Resembool&quot; in the dubbed anime).    In the anime, no mention is made of any desire to build hidden cannons, though he did build one into Paninya&#039;s right leg. He refuses to sell an automail arm to a young rich man because it is an arm for a fighter, and the young man does not really need it. At the end of the series, he is seen helping Winry train to become an even better mechanic.

Bundai is an overaggressive language teacher/tutor who kidnaps and force-teaches Mugen to read and write. His methods are seemingly extremely unorthodox, which includes punching the student in the face when they get a pronunciation wrong and intimidating them with an inferiority complex if they don&#039;t learn to read and write. Although, one might observe that this extreme method of &quot;teaching&quot; was Bundai&#039;s way of getting revenge on Mugen for sticking him with his bar bill. The night before Bundai had (drunkenly) harassed Mugen about not being able to read the menu, forcing him to drink a wine-like liquid while lecturing him on the &quot;souls&quot; of the letters.    His methods, however, seem to be very effective, as Mugen not only learned to read and write in a single day but (fictionally) created the infinity symbol, which he claims to represent his name.

Leader of the "Nagatomi gang" and operator of a gambling den. He swindles gamblers out of their money and belongings. He hires Mugen to become one of his bodygaurds. 

Head of Tokki division in the Shibuya Precinct. Hates the Tokko division and its members for being so secretive, especially when his fellow officers were murdered by the Phantoms and its human-controlled slaves via Human Face larvae. He is insistent in finding out the reasons why Tokko exists and its agenda, to the cost of possibly losing his job over this. He is especially infuriated when Ranmaru leaves his division for Tokko. He appears to have a daughter named Ruru (most likely a nickname) and is also a womanizer.  Based on various side remarks on Kaoru during certain events in the series, it is apparent that he might have been a gangster in his youth before he decided to reform himself as a police officer. A dyed-in-the-wool military man. Several years ago he was in charge of test flights for Trick Star, a new fighter jet equipped with a still experimental G-Reaction engine. During one of these flights, the fighter disappeared after reporting flying saucers. Ever since, Clayton has been trying, seemingly unsuccessfully, to convince the Powers That Be of the necessity of being prepared to meet the threat of alien invasion.

The Physical Education (P.E.) teacher in the cram school. Called by some students as &quot;Ol&#039; Sideburns&quot;, he is well known to abruptly cancel and/or leave class upon recieving a call from a woman currently identified only as &#039;Kitten&#039;, which is the name he calls her. Guuk is one of the thirteen shinigami, he has what looks to be a rams skull for is head and fair patches around his body. His shingami rank is seven and he is often seen gambling with other shingami in the shingami realm.
