Kaneda's best friend since preschool and the second principal subject of the story's theme. Tetsuo is shown as a black sheep in the gang he and Kaneda are part of, and quietly suffers from a deeply rooted inferiority complex. He admires his friend yet at the same time strongly resents his own reliance upon him. After his psychokinetic abilities manifest, Tetsuo quickly becomes Kaneda's nemesis; he desires Kaneda's motorcycle (a symbol of status and power), and seeks to prove himself supremely powerful, without need of protection. Gan-chan (also known as Mitsuo Iwata) is the much-abused temple rat from the "Adventures of Mini-Goddess" series.  Generally nice and friendly, Gan is somewhat emotional and very excitable, but highly prone to gluttony. Due to his nice and trusting nature, he is often led off on some wild adventure by Skuld and Urd, with the end result of Gan getting physically abused in some way. Hamegg is one of [Osamu Tezuka](https://anilist.co/staff/96938)’s most widely used character actors.  Motivated by greed, he is extremely dishonest and a true coward – character traits that make him perfect as a cringe-worthy villain.  He is usually cast alongside [Acetylene Lamp](https://anilist.co/character/33515) (in a partnership Tezuka thought worked particularly well) as a henchman or lackey to another star, such as [Duke Red](https://anilist.co/character/31681), Skunk Kusai or Marukabi Boon.

His roles run the gamut from lighthearted comedy to darker, more violent characters, and oftentimes the parts he plays involve elements of both.

Andy practices the Shiranui-ryuu ("style" in Japanese) Ninjutsu and a form of empty-handed ninja combat called Koppouken, which he trained in after witnessing his foster father's murder in order to gain revenge on Geese Howard. Andy went to Japan to train under Hanzo and grew up alongside Mai, while Terry stayed in South Town.  During Andy's time in Japan, he met the Muay Thai fighter Joe Higashi, and challenged him to a match. When Andy won, he invited Joe to return to America with him to enter the King of Fighters tournament, held by Geese. Before this, Andy had rarely, if ever, seen Terry in the interim since Jeff's death. Andy quickly grew jealous of Terry because Terry was taller, older, more experienced and quite possibly a better fighter, and unlike Andy, Terry did not practice a grueling daily training regimen.  Late in the tournament, Andy tried to kill off Geese by himself. Geese's power proved to be too much for Andy as he almost fell to his death. Terry saved Andy, who finally acknowledged Terry as the better of the two brothers.  Andy's emotions prevented him from reaching the final round, but when Terry defeated Geese, Andy felt a sense of closure and returned to Japan to continue his training. After Terry beat Geese at the end of their first King of Fighters Tournament, a new tournament was held, this time hosted by Wolfgang Krauser. Andy, while present in the tournament, did not accomplish much story-wise.  Ever since Geese's death, the fall of the First Southtown, and the birth of Second Southtown, Andy has been busy training Hokutomaru through the ways of Shiranui-ryuu Ninjutsu and Koppouken. Instead of fighting in the tournament himself, he sends Hokutomaru in his place to see what his apprentice has learned. In Hokutomaru's ending Andy writes him a note saying that he was proud of how strong Hokutomaru has gotten. First impressions of Ban are generally that he is a rude person and has a great sense of pride. With his unruly hair (He&#039;s often called &quot;Urchin Head&quot;) and sunglasses, people already judge him poorly (It doesn&#039;t help that he gives unflattering nicknames to almost anyone he meets, e.g. &quot;monkey trainer&quot; Shido and &quot;thread spool&quot; Kazuki). But he is actually a great guy with a strong sense of leadership and a very talented person. He is one quarter German and he&#039;s the grandchild of the &quot;Last Witch of the 20th Century&quot;.    He&#039;s also a brother-like figure to Himiko Kudo after she has gotten over her brother&#039;s death. The male protagonist, a hybrid of a youkai-dog and a human, a half-demon ("han'yo" in Japanese). He wields the Tessaiga (pronounced "Tetsaiga" in the American dub), a supernatural sword made from one of his deceased father's fangs. This sword, when properly wielded, can destroy one hundred demons with a single swing, and has further powers which are revealed as the story progresses. It is also a source of which hatred exists between Inuyasha and his brother Sesshomaru, a full youkai dog demon, being that Inuyasha can wield the Tessaiga and Sesshomaru can not. Inuyasha has a tendency for massive regeneration and can recover from injuries which would be fatal for any average human. This ability is likely derived from his youkai powers (Example: Episode 5, when Kagome brings medicine from her time). On the night of the new moon each month, Inuyasha will change into a normal human with black hair, brown eyes, and loses his yokai power during this time. Prior to meeting his current companions, he would conceal himself during this time. Inuyasha loves Kikyo, and still does, but things get complicated when he starts to develop feelings of love for Kagome. He has mastered different abilities for his sword including the red tessaiga that can destroy barriers and also learning the backlash wave which hurls an opponents demonic energy right back at it.

Shouryuu is the king of En. Like Youko, Shoryu is a taika from feudal Japan, approximately 500 years ago. He was originally the leader of a clan, and after it was wiped out, he was taken by Enki to rule the kingdom of En. Though En was originally in terrible condition, his 500-year rule has led to an extremely calm and prosperous nation. Shoryu helped Youko by providing her with an army to retake the kingdom of Kei and rescue Keiki. As a fellow taika, Shoryu feels that he should help guide Youko in her new life.

Haohmaru  (覇王丸, Haōmaru) is the star character of the series and is one of the series' most known characters (the other being Nakoruru). He is introduced in Samurai Shodown and continues to appear in every title of the series. His character origin was originally based around the famed swordsman, Miyamoto Musashi, a duelist who claimed to have never lost a match. He is visually modeled after Hyakkimaru from the manga, Dororo. Though he is a swordsman with no loyalties to any lord, Haohmaru has a &quot;samurai spirit&quot; which is often stressed in the series. He is also often accredited to defeating most of the series' villains.  In Gamest's 1997 Heroes Collection, Haohmaru was tied with Ukyo for 29th (out of 50) of the staff's favorite character rank. He was also voted as the second favorite character by the development team and fans in Samurai Shodown II. According to the Q&amp;A page for Neo Geo Battle Coliseum, developers admitted that no matter what the fans wanted, they wanted to include Samurai Shodown characters and made Haohmaru's inclusion one of their top priorities in development. He also makes regular appearances in the series' merchandise and has at least two action figures.     Story  At the age of fifteen, he challenged Jubei to a duel but lost due to lack of experience. Jubei, amused by the youth's bravado, brought Haohmaru to Nicotine so that he may gain proper training. Whilst living there, he also met and befriended Genjuro, fellow student and another orphan like himself.  Orphaned, Nicotine Caffeine spotted him and took him under his tutelage along with Haohmaru in his home. Both students were close friends yet Genjuro's hunger for power worried Nicotine. To test his students, he tempted them to fight over the treasured sword, Fugudoku. They were tested by facing off with a group of other fighters. In Warriors Rage, Haohmaru is a skilled and active swordsman at the age of forty-seven who is revered by many to be the &quot;Legendary Swordsman&quot;. He learns that his adopted niece, Mikoto, ran away from the temple (her childhood home) and follows her to the cursed island of Riten Kyo. There, he grows aware of the evil entities at work there, and departs on a journey to stop the Razor Trio, as well as duel worthy opponents along the way. In his ending, Haohmaru eventually reaches Mikoto at Riten Kyo and reveals her unspoken past to her.     Personality  Confident in his abilities, Haohmaru enjoys the thrill of fighting against strong opponents. Seeking enlightenment with each encounter, he constantly journeys in order to improve himself. As he gets older, he feels less inclined to fight and will try to avoid it if possible.  Outside of battle, Haohmaru is a crude but easy-going man, caring only for sake and food. He has a romantic interest in a simple girl named Oshizu (&quot;O&quot; added as a honorific prefix).     Fighting Style  He can use his sake jug to hit the opponent or to reflect projectiles. His trademark moves are Kougetsu Zan (Crescent Moon Slash), a crescent shaped uppercut, and Senpuu Retsu Zan (Whirlwind-Tearing Slash), a whirlwind projectile. In Samurai Shodown II, he also gained a somersault attack, which could cause massive damage upon crouching foes. By contrast, his Bust form alters several moves, granting him access to aggressive close-combat fighting. Among one of the recurring plots in Yu-Gi-Oh! Ash in the manga    Former Chronos Number X and partner as well as best friend of Naizer. He never actually appeared in the volumes, but it was explained that he was killed by Creed Diskenth.    Ash in the anime    Ash actually does appear in the anime, and it's shown that his weapon is a cane (name unknown), having the ability to split the ground with one hit. This may be a shikomizue (a cane with a sword inside). Another notable detail is that Ash has an &quot;X-shaped&quot; scar between his eyebrows, which is covered by his bandana. Like in the manga, he was killed by Creed, but the scene is actually shown.

As the leader of his clan, it is highly logical that he is skilled in all of his clan&#039;s secret techniques. He has been seen using the Multi-Size Technique, the Human Bullet Tank[2] and the Partial Multi-Size Technique, which all revolve around the clan&#039;s special ability to increase the size of their various body parts. He is also skilled at using a staff in combat, which seems to also grow when he uses the Multi-Size Technique.

Nicknamed "The Serpent" for his reincarnation ability, Roa was a priest of the church that sought immortality and tricked Arcueid into drinking blood hidden within a rose, causing her to go berserk and wipe out almost all the True Ancestors, and also turning Roa into one of the most powerful Dark Apostles, to the point where he was strong enough to defeat Altrouge Brunestud when she tried to "teach him a lesson" as the rest of the Dark Apostles saw him as a upstart. 

His original body was finally defeated by a coalition comprised of Arcueid and the Burial Agency, and he has been re-incarnating ever since then. By the time of Tsukihime he has already re-incarnated 17 times and been destroyed by Arcueid each time as she seeks to gain her stolen power back, and perhaps to achieve some measure of revenge. Roa has 2 requirements for choosing the host of his next reincarnation, his family must have a high social standing so he would be born into luxury, and a body with a high potential. His last host was Ciel, who was chosen in haste and thus was born into a bakery's family but instead had a body with an extremely high physical and magical potential.
