He is given the codename &quot;Crying Freeman,&quot; because he cries after a kill and longs to be free.

Casshan began his life as Tetsuya Azuma, the son of Kotaro and Midori Azuma. The former of his two parents was a scientist who turned Tetsuya into Casshan after Kotaro successfully revived Tetsuya's dog Lucky into a robot dog named Friender when Tetsuya volunteered to be turned into a neo human, despite the objection of his mother and father. Tetsuya volunteered to become Casshan due to another one of Kotaro's creations, Black King activated on his own and set out to conquer the world. In the 1993/1995 OVA remake, Kotaro and Midori are killed by Black King.

Midvalley the Hornfreak is a violent musician who is able to use his saxophone, Sylvia, to synchronize sound waves with pain, causing physical damage. He also is capable of neutralizing sounds by playing counter-frequencies. He and his band originally just kill for money until being found by Knives, who kills all except Midvalley. He dislikes both Legato and Knives, which leads him to try to kill Legato, though he is quickly killed himself. Legato uses Midvalley's body to attack Hoppered, and it is buried with his saxophone on his gravestone afterward. He has a smaller role in the anime, mainly acting as Legato's bodygaurd until fighting Vash, and killing himself after overloading his saxophone.    from wikipedia

Shimi, whose real name is Leilong, is the first assassin sent after Gene. He carries an immense backpack around with him, which is full of an assortment of weapons, including a sword, pistol, rockets, and a top of the line Space Forces light shield. He is a very skilled duelist and is yet to be defeated. During their duel, he easily defeats Gene. After witnessing this, Jim, Aisha, and Suzuka attack, intent on vengeance, but are also thoroughly defeated. Surviving with a wound to his ribs, Gene is then challenged to a one-shot duel by Shimi. Gene wins the duel due to Shimi having a faulty gun. Believed to be dead, he is buried by Gene and the others, but eventually digs himself out of his grave muttering: &quot;They sure buried me deep enough.&quot; Instead of continuing his life as an assassin, Shimi chooses to start his life anew as a wandering outlaw, having orchestrated his defeat and &quot;death&quot; for the exact purpose of removing himself from the Kei Pirates. He tried to stop King, but it ended horribly with King's family slaughtered. Before the Ultimate Shadow Stone was placed inside his body, Gale felt the fury of his former friend's rage when his face was scarred and his wife killed before his eyes.      ~!He later reappeared and helped his son defeat King, and eventually sacrificed his life to save Haru before the tower's collapse. An arrogant soldier who was a spy for the military commander, General Colbert (General Galt), who maliciously taunted Blade and the Space Knights. Freeman (Jamison) intentionally gave him the data of the Tekkaman (Teknoman), implying that the Space Knights will need all the help they can get, leading to the creation of the Sol-Tekkaman suits (Tekno suits), with Balzac piloting the first one. He led a strike team on the Space Ring thinking it was the main base; however, it wasn't and fell into a trap set by Evil (Sabre), who proceeded to annihilate Balzac's military squad. Balzac escaped the massacre and returned to earth where he was saved by a woman named Rachael and her young brother Rick. For several months, he stayed with Rachael and Rick, finally understanding what it feels like to have people care for him, but also seeking revenge for the death of Marlou, his best friend. He ends up helping the Space Knights, giving extra firepower to the team, which already had Blade and Noal (Ringo). He and Noal (Ringo) still show rivalry towards each other, but without a sense of grudge against each other unlike before. Near the end, both he and Noal (Ringo) take on Tekkaman (Teknoman) Sword. Balzac used Noal's (Ringo's) suit to use a special cannon designed by Freeman (Jamison) to negate the Tek Set. He managed to kill Sword in battle, however, she grabbed Balzac at the last moment, taking him along with her. As they descended, Balzac thought of Rachael one last time before shooting her in the chest.
