A genetically altered being made from the spliced genes of human and wolf, he is also a private detective. He gains information by examining and tasting people's hair. As a result from this, he has a hair fetish. Hiroshi can also transform into a more wolf-like form and can use special powers and attacks from whatever type or color of hair he eats. Just like Soumei he can transform into a wolf, him being red. Formerly, he worked for the police but quit and formed his own detective agency after his younger brother, Haruka, left. His former partner is Kuniharu Ogino. He still continues to help him in cases, ones that involve the Valentino Family. It is stated and shown throughout the series that he has a brother complex towards his younger brother. He spoils Haruka because of his weak body and is often blind to his usual villainous aura. His biological father is Soumei.

Shinpachi Shimura works under Gintoki to learn the ways of the samurai. He used to stay at his family's dōjo. However, it seems more like he's just trying to help Gintoki pay the rent than to learn. Shinpachi is the captain of the "Otsu's Imperial Guard," a pop singer's fan club.  Shinpachi meets Gintoki after Shinpachi was tripped by the ambassador of Planet Chatoran. Gintoki beats up the ambassador and his guards, not to stand up for Shinpachi, but to get revenge for his spilled parfait. Gintoki frames Shinpachi for the crime, which somehow led to him saving Shimura Tae (Otae), Shinpachi's sister, from becoming part of a brothel.  Despite his meek appearance, Shinpachi is a more than competent swordsman of his family's Kakidō-Ryu, the type of swordsmanship his dojo teaches.  In the character popularity poll, he was in 8th place.  His name is roughly based on Shinsengumi member Nagakura Shinpachi and comedian Ken Shimura.

A masochistic half-dog girl who's friends with Haruki Komaba. She's the head of the Chemical Science Club and viewed as a rival by Airi. Claims she used to be a regular puppy, but was turned into a half-dog half-human by a drunk god.

The Student Council Accountant (treasurer). She is also a ninja. Yuka appears to be carefree most of the time. However, she is very cunning, mostly encouraging activities of the Maken-ki that involve some kind of other work that needs to be done. The most obvious of these actions is the "match" between Venus and Maken-ki, where the players use broomsticks and soap while playing in the pool. Sakanoue is in the Student Council office when Misogi Kumagawa arrives.She watches on as Jakago demonstrates her ability on Sukinasaki.Sakanoue tries to attack Sukinasaki when she uses her Error Message Plate on Jakago, but gets taken over herself.Later, the Student Council surrounds Kumagawa in an empty classroom. Like the other members, Sakanoue is confused when she tries to remember why they attacked Kumagawa.Along with the other members of the Student Council, she is defeated by Kumagawa before she can even use her ability.After Fude Ezumachi returns to the school and begins changing the colors of almost everything, Sakanoue is surprised by the red hallway floors. She compares them to a red carpet and is too afraid to walk on them. When Iya Renpei compares the orange tap water to Ehime Prefecture, Sakanoue and the others tell her she is wrong.
