The android boy fashioned after Tobio Tenma (Astor Boynton III in the B/W American translation) by his father, the head of the Institute of Science in the year 2000. Aside from possessing the strength of 100,000 horsepower (later 1,000,000) and the kind personality of a child, he has what are called his "seven amazing powers": jet-powered flight, multilingualism, analytical skills, headlight eyes, super-sensitive hearing, hidden weapons in his back and the ability to tell if a person's good or evil. In addition he has a built-in geiger counter and shortwave communication system.

Bulma is originally a secondary main character, but her role is quickly downplayed as the series continues, even though she does remain an important support character for most of the series. Bulma is a direct parody of the character Xuanzang from the Chinese novel Journey to the West. Even though Bulma's character parodies a monk, her Japanese name "Buruma" is the brand of a popular gym short worn by girls in Japan. Her re-adapted name Bulma is a direct take on the word "bloomers", which was a popular brand of women's underwear in the early 20th century.  Bulma is the second character to be introduced in the Dragon Ball series. In the early part of the story, she is the inventor of the Dragon Radar and is searching for the legendary Dragon Balls. Bulma was hoping to use the Dragon Balls to wish for the perfect boyfriend. While searching for a nearby Dragon Ball, she runs into Son Goku. It is at this time that she finds out Goku inherited one of the balls (the four-star ball) she is searching for from his Grandpa Gohan. Because of Goku's love for the ball and his belief that his Grandpa's spirit lives in the ball, Goku is not willing to give it up. Bulma then asks him to loan it for her in exchange of taking him in her travels. At that point, they team up to find the remainder of the balls and the adventure begins. In the later action-oriented episodes of the series, there is little room for a genius but Bulma continues to play a role as a secondary character, helping Goku and his friends with her gadgets, and having a rather rocky relationship with Yamcha.




The youngest son of the Rossi family who leaves his hometown of Genoa, Italy and travels across the Atlantic and all over South America in search of his mother Anna Rossi whom the family had lost contact with.

Remi starts off as the son of Mrs Barberin. When his father, having had one leg crippled in a work-related incident, arrives home for the first time in years it is revealed to Remi he is adopted. Behind his mother&#039;s back, he is sold to Vitalis, a travelling entertainer. Vitalis teaches Remi all about the world and how to handle the challenges it brings. The young Prince of Silverland, Sapphire is in reality a girl, but must pretend to be a boy in order to inherit the throne and prevent the evil Duke Duralumon from taking power. Her personality is more refined than tomboyish, but she's good with a sword and at night fights crime as the masked Phantom Knight. She's good-hearted, has a strong sense of justice and is competent and level-headed as well. Although most of her time is spent as Prince Sapphire, later in the series she is able to go about as a girl (wearing a blonde wig) in the persona of the Princess, Prince Sapphire's sister. In this way she is able to court Prince Frank.

Katsuyu is the slug queen summon of Tsunade. Compared to Gamabunta and Manda, the summons of Jiraiya and Orochimaru, respectively, Katsuyu is quiet and more subservient to her master. With her Slug Great Division, Katsuyu can divide herself into smaller slugs to evade attacks or to serve small scale functions, and is able quickly reform herself if need be. Mrs. Bradley is the wife of the Fuhrer, King Bradley. A kind and trusting wife. Though she rarely appears in either series, usually accompanying Selim, Mrs. Bradley&#039;s appearances usually fall under the category of comic relief as she speaks jovially of her familial life and romantic past with the Fuhrer.

The son of Bora, he accompanies Son Goku for a short time during the Fortuneteller Baba Saga in order to recover all of the Dragon Balls so they can wish his father back to life. Upa is a member of the native tribe who serve as the guardians of Karin Tower. His father is the chief, however, the rest of the tribe is not seen until the end of the manga. He participates in the fight against Uranai Baba's thugs and helps Pu'ar defeat Dracula Man (a kickboxing vampire) with garlic breath. At the end of Dragon Ball Z, now an adult, he is shown giving energy to Goku's Genki Dama. Upa and his father also make a final cameo appearance in Dragon Ball GT on the episode "Piccolo's Decision". It is interesting to note that when Kuririn first meets Upa, he thinks that Upa is a cute girl. He is disgusted when he finds out otherwise and apologizes to Upa.

A Mexican voice actress. She is known for being the Latin American Spanish voice of Bulma in the _Dragon Ball_ franchise.
