Rea is the heroine of the story who steals and drinks some of the zombie potion made by Chihiro in an attempt to commit suicide because of the sheltered life she lives. She fails in the attempt but she resurrects as zombie when she accidentally falls of a cliff and dies. As a zombie, she lives together with Chihiro in order to know how it feels to become free from her father's chains.   Rea is friendly with everyone at the shrine, including Darin despite her intentions to use Rea as a research subject. She calls Mero by Mero-Chan similar to that of Mero's mother which causes Mero great discomfort at first. Similarly, she calls Darin with the -Chan suffix to Darin's discontent.   She likes Chihiro and feels like she is bothering or interrupting Chihiro and Ranko's relationship. She seems to understand Bābu. She's also physically strong as her body is no longer retrained by her brain as a result of her death.   ~!Rea is revealed to be a new, special case of zombification similar to that of Furuya's mother. Instead of losing her humanity, her love for things turns into lust which leads to the state of "Eater Confusion". !~   ~!After Rea attempts to eat Furuya out of lust at festival, she runs away and is tracked down at the abandoned hotel where Furuya finds her two days later. She attempts to seal herself away in the well but Furuya drags her out, and she once again attempts to eat him due to the Eater Confusion status. After taking heavy blood loss from the wound he received from Rea Furuya confesses to Rea which returns her humanity in time for her to protect him from the collapsing roof. After these events both feel more awkward around each other, with Rea having difficulty just looking Furuya in the eyes; blushing every time she sees him.!~

Frenda Seivelun is a member of team ITEM. It is revealed that she has a little sister by the name of Fremea Seivelun. 

She and ITEM's leader Mugino Shizuri have a sort of master-servant relationship.

 ~!In volume 15 of the novel, Frenda betrayed ITEM and Mugino goes on a solitary manhunt for her. Mugino later finds and executes Frenda, cutting her in half by the waist with her Meltdowner ability.!~

A classmate of Akane and her friends. She is mysterious and is never shown to interact with other people. She also seems to have a connection to the Alone and could be called an enemy.  ~!Rei comes from an another world where she lost everything dear to her. There, a crow made contract with her that in order to get her world back to its normal state, she has to destroy the Manifestation Engine using Alones. Rei has a mark of feathers which indicate the amount of arrows she can still fire, and when the last arrow is fired, she disappears completely if the Manifestation Engine isn't destroyed.!~

The daughter of one of Yui's relatives who often visits Yui. She is a fan of Mirakurun, though does not take kindly to Chinatsu after learning her personality doesn't match her image. Her favorite food is sea urchin and she is very smart for her age.

Hiyori Iki is a Half-Phantom who can leave her human body, being like this since she "saved" [Yato](https://anilist.co/character/84677/Yato) from an incoming bus. Despite being raised to be completely lady-like in a rich household, Hiyori is a huge martial arts fan and has a fixation on a martial artist called Touno, whom she adores and copies her attacks from. She often becomes inspired and acts on his words.

Hiyori is a very pure, kind-hearted, and brave girl who will go out of her way to help someone in danger, even strangers, regardless of the severe consequences, including suffering from blight. She has a strong moral compass and is not above calling people out if she feels their actions are wrong. Hiyori is also extremely perceptive of those around her, but despite that she can be a bit air-headed too. 

She also has a strong liking to Yato's smell and even called it her favorite smell on one occasion, but she becomes rather embarrassed by how much she likes it and dodges the subject whenever it is brought up.
