Kisuke Urahara is a mysterious shinigami who runs his own shop in the world of the living, specifically Karakura Town, that caters to Shinigami / Soul Reaper needs. He has several employees who work under him at his shop, including [Tessai Tsukabishi](https://anilist.co/character/15571/Tessai-Tsukabishi), [Jinta Hanakari](https://anilist.co/character/8018/Jinta-Hanakari), and [Ururu Tsumugiya](https://anilist.co/character/3528/Ururu-Tsumugiya). He also is known to have a close relationship with [Yoruichi Shihōin](https://anilist.co/character/908/Yoruichi-Shihouin), and has a strong interest in the substitute soul reaper [Ichigo Kurosaki](https://anilist.co/character/5/Ichigo-Kurosaki).

He is generally known to be a laid-back, jovial fellow, however he is far more deceptive than he lets on, and there are times he can be dead serious when the situation warrants it. Despite his carefree attitude, his speech is always polite, though it is sometimes sarcastic. Kisuke tends to go over the top with whatever he becomes passionate about, and has once described himself as a "mere honest, handsome, perverted businessman." Despite his appearance, Urahara is a highly skilled fighter, using a combination of powerful attacks and cunning deceptions, and is capable of holding his own with nothing more than his shikai.

Urahara can often be found near the scene of events that he deems important, but will rarely step in to intervene, preferring to pull the strings from outside. After the event is over, he kindly pops up and helps the side he deems fit. He often tends to know more than he reveals, and has strong history and ties to the soul society and several characters within it. While he is a major driving force throughout much of the story, he is usually only the catalyst, allowing others to do the work for him. He also likes building large underground training spaces in secret, it's practically his hobby.

A vampire hunter descended from a long line of hunters, Winner is very melodramatic, and his hunting garb is flamboyant: a black, flowing Neo-style long overcoat, with a white chest and a gold "W" plastered across the front, and a huge wide-brimmed hat with a feather sticking out of it. His blond good looks make him extremely popular with the girls at the school and his "cool" appearance is also commented on by passing strangers.   

He transfers to Karin's high school and falls in love with her at first sight, constantly making romantic overtures toward her. Despite being a vampire hunter, he does not know about Karin's true nature, as he is blinded by love and possibly also because he is not very bright.  As a child, he met a girl with whom he shared his first kiss. However, the girl he "kissed" was (unknown to him at the time) actually a younger Karin, who bit him and injected her blood into him.  There is one massive stumbling block to Winner's progress as a vampire hunter, however: he has hemophobia (aka, a fear of blood), which goes as far as feeling sick when seeing spilt red paint.

Kurei is Recca's older half brother. He was born in 1571 (four years prior to Recca's birth), and is the firstborn son of Flame Master Ōka and his mistress Reina. He was initially recognized as the next leader of the Hokage clan due to his innate flame powers, but the Hokage elders label him a cursed child when his younger half-brother, Recca Hanabishi, also exhibits the same powers. Kurei was supposed to be killed in order to save the clan, but due to Kagerō's intervention, Kurei and his mother are exiled instead. Kurei attempts to kill Recca, and is imprisoned for his crime. He escapes the prison when it is destroyed during Oda Nobunaga's raid on the Hokage village, and he jumps into the time portal Kagerō opened in order to save Recca by sending him into the future.  Kurei is then found and adopted by Tsukino Mori, the wife of one of the series' main antagonists, Kōran Mori. Kōran raises Kurei to become a "machine", telling him that he does not need human emotions and that he should reject them. Upon seeing how much Kurei loved his mother, Kōran has her transferred to a different house and keeps her under house arrest. When Kurei falls in love with Kurenai, Kōran Mori's adopted daughter, Kōran has her killed. This causes Kurei to despise his adoptive father, but since Kōran is holding his mother hostage, he obeys Kōran's orders.  Kurei is the leader of the Uruha, a group of skilled warriors hired to serve Kōran Mori and to assist Kurei in missions that Kōran orders him to undertake.  Like his father and his half-brother, Kurei has the innate power to produce and manipulate fire. The main form of his flame is the Phoenix, and is a different color from Recca's (Kurei's flames are purple in the anime series and a different shade of red in the Flame of Recca video games). Kurei has the ability to absorb souls into his flame, and use them to produce humanoid flames that fight for him and obey his commands. The first time Kurei absorbed a soul into his flame was when he absorbed Kurenai's soul right after Kōran killed her. The second instance was when he absorbed the soul of a loyal member of the Uruha named Jisho (this is not shown in the anime or the video games). His power is not limited to absorbing just one soul at a time, as shown by his absorption of several souls after an opponent slaughters many men in the latter part of the manga.  Kurei is also capable of executing non-flame based techniques such as Wakemi, a technique that allows him to produce multiple, solid duplicates of himself that possess his powers and skills. Piccolo is a fictional character from the Dragon Ball series. He is introduced in the late stages of Dragon Ball as the main antagonist of the final saga and is a ruthless enemy of the protagonist [Son Goku](https://anilist.co/character/246/Son-Gokuu). He carries a very cold, menacing demeanour and is not afraid to show his evil nature, he is characterized wearing his weighted clothing, cape and turban.

Guren is one of twelve Shinshō in service to Seimei, who gave him his current name, after he pledged his servitude. His original name is Tōda, (騰蛇). However, the other Shinshō still address him by his original name. Only Seimei and Masahiro call him Guren.  The form he takes most of the time is an ayakashi although Masahiro considers him a mononoke, whom Masahiro named Mokkun. Because he's invisible to anyone without a spirit sense, Mokkun frequently plays tricks on people who annoy him, much to Masahiro's chagrin. It was also shown in the anime that Guren dislikes babies, because according to him, babies often cry for no reason. However, Masahiro disagrees, saying that Guren was merely afraid that the children who saw him would hate him.  From the time Masahiro was a baby, Guren watched over and protected him, as Masahiro was the only person who wasn't afraid of him. Because of this, despite how they constantly bicker with each other, Masahiro and Guren share a deep sense of friendship and trust between them and both are willing to lay down their own lives for the other.  It is also mentioned that Guren is one of most feared summon gods, possessing the power of controlling the fires of Hell. Seimei also created a golden ring to wear around Guren's head to keep his own strength from overwhelming him.  Since Masahiro doesn't fear Guren, Seimei cites this as the proof his grandson is the only one compatible to be his successor. In the form of Mokkun, the familiar is able to erect barriers and project crescent shaped blades of energy; in the form of Guren, he attacks with blasts of fire and a trident.  In the past, Seimei’s best friend Ryūsai who ordered Guren by using the Baku-kon spell, a spell that could forcefully control anyone’s heart. He used it on Guren to kill Seimei and after that kill him. In addition, because of that incident the other Shinshō don't trust him. Nevertheless, that began to change with Masahiro's help, as stated by Kōchin.  Later in the series, he is corrupted by Chishiki no Gūji, losing his soul and becoming a cold-blooded monster who almost leaves Masahiro to die. It is later revealed that he’s a slave of the Underworld, as he controls the Fires of Hell. His blood was required to break the final seal of the gate to the Underworld.  At the end of the anime, Masahiro revives Guren; saving his life in exchange for Guren's memories of Masahiro being sealed away, so he would not have to remember and regret the terrible things he has done. Despite Guren having no memory of who he is, Masahiro felt that this was better than seeing him die. However, Guren is sill one of Seimei's familiars. Seto Kaiba is the majority shareholder and President of his own multi-national company, KaibaCorp, who aims to become the world's greatest player of the Duel Monsters card game. To accomplish this goal, he must defeat his arch-rival, Yugi Muto. He is largely considered an anti-hero, as his motives are usually ego-centric, but in several cases towards a good cause. Among one of the recurring plots in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters is Seto Kaiba being forced to deal with either people adversely affected by Gozaburo Kaiba's actions wanting to take their revenge on Seto Kaiba, or people from within KaibaCorp attempting to take over the corporation.

Eita's friend and class-skipping companion. Being a member of a wealthy family and independent of his parents, his house becomes a place for Eita and Margery to stay. Both him and Eita like Margery, but he hides his feelings.

Better known as Captain Bravo in the series. He is Tokiko's commander, who dresses in an outfit that covers every inch of his body except for his eyes. Though Tokiko assumed this was to protect his identity, Bravo actually has no qualms with showing his real appearance when he acts as Kazuki's dorm supervisor. He claims that he doesn't use his real name because it's cooler that way, (That's what Kazuki thought the reason was, or more like he thinks it's cool) the truth being he abandoned the name after his first and last mission in the "Showusei Team" who only managed to save Tokiko. He acts as a father figure for Kazuki. During the Muto assassination arc, he tried to kill Kazuki up to a point where he threw him off a cliff, but he later defends Kazuki when Kazuki defeats him. He was critically injured by Hiwatari when he gave up his Silver Skin to cover up Kazuki and Tokiko from getting killed by Hiwatari's Blaze of Glory. Bravo remained conscious and controlled Silver Skin to prevent both Hiwatari and Kazuki from harming each other until Showusei appeared and stopped both raging warriors. True to his name, the captain has a tendency to say "Bravo" when applauding someone. Bear is an older player of the game and plays a Blademaster. He appears as cool and collected, always willing to help out newbies, giving off an experienced air. He also conducts research in the real world on Tsukasa in the attempt to try to figure out who he really is; he is in fact the first character who discovers Tsukasa's real life identity. Bear is usually seen hanging out with Mimiru and BT.    ~!In real life, Bear is a famous novelist named Ryo Sakuma. He's 47 years old and his most acclaimed work is the novel "Annwn".   He's divorced from his wife, and is constantly pestered by his son, a Wavemaster that goes by the name Teddy in The World, with demands for money.   Ryo Sakuma enjoys various hobbies, like reading books by famous authors, and going to the theatre. He smokes quite a lot, and has several dictionaries in his computer, which enable him to research anytime.   In Unison, the conversation at the bar, and certain scenes at Net Slum suggest that Bear and BT start a relationship in real life after the events in .hack//Sign. !~

Father Tres is a battle android who wields two guns and works with unemotional, relentless efficiency. His functions are rather limited to combat situations. His vocabulary is devoid of emotion and genuine caring much like a computer or A.I., expressing statements such as, &quot;Status report&quot; in lieu of &quot;Are you alright&quot; and &quot;negative/positive&quot; instead of &quot;no/yes&quot;. The thirteenth successor to the sword art of Hiten Mitsurugi-Ryu, Hiko Seijuro saved young Shinta from marauding bandits who killed his companions. Hiko then took care of Shinta, and renamed him Kenshin ("Heart of Sword") after claiming that Shinta was not a good name for a swordsman. He became angry and disappointed with Kenshin, because he ran away to join the rebellion against the Tokugawa regime. He shut himself away from the rest of the world; he lives as a potter close to the forest near Kyoto. In Seisouhen/Reflection, he also realizes that the Hiten Mitsurugi-Ryu no longer seems relevant in the changing world, as he remarks to Yahiko: "The only thing that doesn't seem to change is the moon."  Hiko is perhaps the strongest swordsman around; he is way too superior even to Kenshin. Although the two are comparable in speed, Hiko possesses a superior sense of judgement in combat and the superhuman strength (hidden, and even suppressed, underneath his heavy cloak) to wield Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu to its maximum. After fifteen years, master and student meet once more. It is then that Kenshin will complete his training, if Kenshin can survive Hiko's ego.  The cloak is not only distinctive for all Hiten Mitsurugi masters, but it also serves to strengthen them in peacetime. Even when conflict is not at the door, Hiko remains in training just by wearing it, as it is composed of several heavy materials that weigh him down and force him to work out because of counter-springs with pressure of around 37.5 kilograms. Watsuki mentions in the manga that he based the billowy capes' image on Spawn of Image Comics by Todd McFarlane (the size of the collar pieces was reduced in the anime).  The name Hiko Seijuro is in fact a title granted to each succeeding master of Hiten Mitsurugi-Ryu. Since Hiko Seijuro II, each new master has discarded his own name in favor of the name of the creator of Hiten Mitsurugi-Ryu. As Kenshin declines to take the name "Hiko Seijuro XIV", his master is the last man ever to be known as Hiko Seijuro.

The leader and bassist of Trapnest. He is handsome and has a reputation of being a playboy. Despite his raw sexual charisma, Takumi can also be a cold and controlling workaholic. His favorite brand of cigarettes is Gitanes.    ~!Coming from a family with an alcoholic and bitter father, he and his older sister learned to be independent at a young age due to their mother being bed-ridden with illness in the hospital. He looked after Layla since they were children and always harbored a brother-like care for her. He ends up dating and sleeping with Hachi, which dubiously resulted in Hachi's pregnancy. For some reason, perhaps because of his family background or because he is starting to become possessive, he refuses to leave Hachi and the unborn child despite Hachi's uncertainty whether it is his or Nobu's. In a previous chapter, Naoki said something to Yasu about Takumi not letting the woman he is infatuated with run away that easily; and Ren saying that Takumi hates getting into such mess, which hints that Takumi took responsibility not just only because of sheer sense of responsibility but he is starting to care for her. But although he loves Hachi and is "infatuated" with her, Takumi still keeps his playboy habits, cheating on her first with a soap-opera actress and later on with Reira, who has openly declared her desire to become his lover.  In the end, Takumi is one of the most confusing characters in this manga. Like what Hachiko once said, with Takumi, it is hard to tell whether it is love or business.!~

While to the outside world Komori appears to be a polite and popular boy who wants to become a doctor, in reality he wants to change the world by sacrificing the educated in a similar manner to the Khmer Rouge's revolution in Cambodia. He tells Akira that he is going to build an everlasting empire, and that he will be king and she will be his queen. He dies at the hands of Hoshimaru after introducing immense fear into Akira and Shiina's hearts. His friends and living family do not know of his death; they believe he has simply gone missing. His disabled mother, unable to live on her own, dies soon after Komori's death. When Komori dies, everyone but Shiina and Akira believes that he went missing, and therefore the people do not know the truth about his situation.

A highly skilled ninja who sports a light-brown/dark-blonde mop-top and a goatee. He is first introduced in episode 37 when he and Gintoki attempt to fight to the death over the last remaining issue of the Christmas Double Issue Jump, which in fact, was actually the Christmas Double Issue AKAMARU Jump. (in fact, he first appeared in episode 36 as the conman dreamcatcher&#039;s assistant). Apparently, he used to be from the Oniwabanshu too, and is acquainted with Ayame. He is the first ninja in the series to apparently equal Gintoki&#039;s skill and obsessive devotion to Jump. He apparently suffers from hemorrhoids. He commands a freelance ninja team known as the &quot;Shinobi 5.&quot; His father is said to be the strongest man in the Oniwanbanshu, and an instructor to many of his peers, including Ayame Sarutobi. 

His name is roughly based on a famous ninja from Iga, Hattori Hanzō.

Zero's younger twin brother. When they were younger, they were both taught by Touga Yagari, though Ichiru did not seem to share Zero's natural ability because he was sickly. Zero and Ichiru were very close as children, although later Ichiru claims to have hated Zero after overhearing that his parents preferred Zero over himself. Genma Shiranui replaces Hayate Gekko as examiner of the main matches of the Chunin Exams after Hayate is killed. "Shiranui" means "phosphorescent light". Genma is often seen with a senbon in his mouth. He uses this as a weapon, spitting it out at the enemy to attack them, or to deflect ranged weapon attacks. When the invasion of Konoha begins, Genma battles Baki off-screen, presumably to a draw since both of them come out of the fight relatively unscathed. He later appears with Raido Namiashi to confront the Sound Four, who are forced to go level 2 of their cursed seals to defeat them. The Sound Four later comment that if it hadn't been for their cursed seals, Genma and Raido would have defeated them.

One of the most dedicated members of the investigation team. Little else is known of him. He remains mostly silent. This silence is marked when he refuses to answer Near&#039;s questions about the Japanese Investigative Team, even when he is clearly affected by the theories that Near was presenting to him. Later on, he is one of the first members who begins to warm to Near&#039;s theory that Light is Kira. He is also shown to be an excellent actor, showing an excitement and cheeriness completely opposite of his usual demeanor.    In the first arc, Mogi acts as Misa&#039;s manager (as Kankichi Moji) after Matsuda&#039;s faked death. Misa gives him the nickname of &quot;Mochi,&quot; based on the alias.    In the second arc, Mello demands meeting Mogi in order to investigate about Kira, and tricks Mogi into meeting Near at the SPK headquarters.
