Ichigo Kurosaki is an orange haired teenager who lives in Karakura Town, being a capable student at his High School. But, more importantly, he's a Substitute Soul Reaper.

Ever since he was young, Ichigo has been able to see spirits, to the point where he could not tell the living from the dead. Due to this oddity, he would end up meeting [Rukia Kuchiki](https://anilist.co/character/6/Rukia-Kuchiki), a Soul Reaper. Soon after, once a hollow appeared and threatened his family, he recklessly fought back against it, forcing Rukia to save him by taking the blow of it's attack. Seeing Ichigo's determination to protect his family, Rukia offered to temporarily turn him into a Soul Reaper by piercing his chest with her Zanpakutou and transferring half of her power to him. Ichigo goes through with it, allowing him to make short work of the Hollow, and forcing him to fulfill Rukia's role as a Soul Reaper until she can regain her powers.

Being stubborn, short-tempered, strong-willed, and impulsive, Ichigo often claims not to care about what other people think about him, and attempts to maintain a detached and "cool" image. He generally keeps his face set in a near-permanent scowl, with his eyebrows drawn together. His outspoken, hot-headed demeanor is a trait Ichigo himself has acknowledged, and if somebody picks a fight with him, he cannot help fighting back. Ichigo's resolve in battle can waver at times, which can impede his fighting prowess, and he tends to go into a state of depression and self-loathing when he loses a major fight or lets a friend down. Despite what he lets on, he is genuinely compassionate and empathetic towards others, and doesn't mind helping others when they become upset, or need the support. He is always willing to fight to protect those he cares for, no matter what it is he would be fighting against.

Kyouya Ootori, a second year student at Ouran Gakuen, is the sly and calculating vice-president of the Host Club founded by his best friend and polar opposite, Tamaki Suoh. Despite Tamaki being president, Kyoya truly runs the club and plays the role of a puppet-master behind the scenes, earning him the nickname “Shadow King”. He takes care of the Host Club’s expenses and will even sell items belonging to the host club members (such as Haruhi’s pencil) for profit. In his words, “use whatever is at hand, be it friend or foe.” Almost everything he does is for his own benefit, but he can occasionally display a selfless side. He is the third son of his very wealthy and influential family; thus, if he wants to take over his family's business, he must work extremely hard to meet his strict father’s high expectations. Also, Kyoya's bad temper when waking up in the morning has earned him the name “Low-Blood Pressure Evil Lord."

President of Haze Middle School&#039;s Shogi club. Kaga hates Go and prefers Shogi better because his father forbade Shogi and forced him to play Go from an extremely early age, and he could never please the old man no matter how well he did, because he always loses to Akira. He also says he hates Go because Akira is better than him, while keeping a completely detached attitude towards the game. He still plays Go from time to time to keep his skills limber. He along with Kimihiro has graduated from Haze Middle School.

A 3rd-year student and regular member of the Seigaku tennis team. He is an intelligent player and is best known for collecting player data, which he incorporates into a unique playing style known as "Data Tennis". Before Echizen Ryoma's arrival at Seigaku, Inui was recognized as the third-strongest player on the team, next to Fuji Shūsuke and Tezuka Kunimitsu. Inui has an intense rivalry with Tezuka, having played at least 30 matches against him and losing every single one of them. In response to Tezuka's superiority, Inui began developing his style of Data Tennis specifically to defeat Tezuka.

Four years prior to the start of the series, Inui and Yanagi Renji were unstoppable Elementary School Doubles Pairing. Despite Inui wanting to continue their close partnership, their doubles pairing was ended when Yanagi suddenly moved to the Kanagawa Prefecture and joined [[|Rikkai Dagaku Fuzoku |Rikkaidai]].

Inui usually plays doubles, most notably with Kaidou Kaoru. His doubling with Kaidou helped Seigaku overcome their problems with their lack of strong doubles teams, with the exception of the Golden Pair.

Jin is a mild-mannered vagrant ronin who carries himself in the conventionally stoic manner of a samurai of the Tokugawa era. Using his waist-strung daishou, he fights in the traditional kenjutsu style of a samurai trained in a prominent, sanctioned dojo.   Jin wears glasses, an available but uncommon accessory in Edo era Japan. Jin seldom talks and Fuu seems to prefer him to Mugen. He is reputed to have killed his dojo master and his history is shrouded in mystery.

The older of the Valentine brothers, Luke is entirely unlike his brother, and sports a calm and composed behaviour. like Jan, he does not have any high class vampire abilities, and use a pair of sawed-off M1 Garand rifles as well as knives. Luke challenges Alucard, but grossly underestimate him, and is in the end eaten by Alucards Hellhound.

Johan Liebert is the older twin son of the Lieberts, whose father Michael was an East German trade advisor who defected to the West. He is the titular "monster" and the main antagonist of the series. The mystery of his past is the focus of the plot. He is called a monster, the next Adolf Hitler and the devil himself.

Johan was shot in the head as a child when his parents were killed in their home, but saved from death by [Dr. Tenma](https://anilist.co/character/718). Because of this, he regards Dr. Tenma almost as though he was his father. He claims to love his twin sister [Anna](https://anilist.co/character/720), and has some loyalty to her. Johan has spent parts of his life in different places under different names. He possesses charisma and intelligence but is also cunning, manipulative and deceitful; while he is seemingly kind, compassionate and loving to children, he is actually cold, cruel and fundamentally incapable of empathy. He uses his talents to manipulate and corrupt others, often with no apparent end than to cause suffering and destruction.

His goal, as he stated when he was young, is to kill everyone that knows of his existence, and be the last one standing at the end of the world. He identifies with other killers, discovering their secrets. One of the themes of Monster is how individuals are capable of transforming into monsters; Johan often acts as both a direct and indirect catalyst for this transformation.

A cheerful Exorcist of mixed race, who aims to become a Bookman and is working along the Black Order just to be close to the events that must be seen. To help him, he developed an incredible memory: he is able to memorize every single aspect of something he saw.

His anti-Akuma weapon is a size-shifting hammer, which he calls Ōzuchi Kozuchi or Nyoibo. It can grow or extend. The weight increases with its size, but since Lavi is the conformer, the weight does not effect him; however, it does to everyone else. His hammer can also summon several "judgments" with kanji possibly representing the classical elements that can be used individually or combined. However, between some of the seals are question marks. This probably means that Lavi has some seals that he has yet to learn from his Innocence.

Boo is introduced in the series as an innocent looking, pudgy, pink genie-like creature. Later in the series, it is revealed that Boo's original form is a more sleek child form ("The Boo of Pure Evil"), however his nature and form had been altered after he'd assimilated the gentle, pudgy god (Dai Kaioshin) into his body. Boo's creator, a wizard named Bibbidi, had used Boo to wage war on the Kaioshin. Boo managed to assimilate two of the four Kaioshin, the second being the one who altered his nature to become innocent. After Bibbidi sealed Boo away, Bibbidi was killed by the fourth Kaioshin, and Boo was transported to Earth where he layed dormant for five million years until he was revived by Bibbidi's son Babbidi during the events of Dragon Ball.

Boo has numerous counterparts in the series. When he first emerges from his shell, he is tall and round, and his personality is naive and innocent. Boo's anger later manifests itself in the form of another Boo ("The Boo of Pure Wrath").  After a battle with the Boo of Pure Wrath, Boo is absorbed and the two combined create Super Boo, who tracks down the protagonists of the series Piccolo and Gotenks. He later reverts to his purest form, the original state called "The Boo of Pure Evil".

As his familiar indicates, his speciality is earth magic. He is named after Antoine V de Gramont, Duke of Guiche, a French military figure.

 Shinichi Okazaki is the bass player of Blast, and youngest member of the band, being only 15 years old.  Shin was born in Sweden, he speaks British English with a Swedish accent. Due to his dysfunctional family, Shin left his home and abandoned his original family name.    ~!He moonlights as a male prostitute, with Reira being one of his clients. Among other things, he is an expert mahjong player and a confidant and early roommate to Nobu. He stops seeing Reira to protect her status and his own feelings—also possibly sparked from fear by Takumi's warning.   Ryouko Kawashigi, one of his older clients, bears a striking resemblance to Reira and he sees her again after the two musicians ended their relationship. She lives near his parents' apartment, works as a stewardess, and is the one that taught Shin "bad things". He and Ryouko were put under arrest for possession of marijuana which caused BLAST to withdraw from their tour. In the future it is shown he has become an actor. !~

One of the Hachiyō, he is the Suzaku of Earth. Shimon is a Junior High student and a friend of Akane who also is pulled into Kyō. The people of Kyō often mistake him for an Oni.

Neji Hyuuga is a stoic member of [Might Guy](https://anilist.co/character/307)'s Team Guy, consisting of himself, [Rock Lee](https://anilist.co/character/306), and [Tenten](https://anilist.co/character/3710). Neji and Lee have somewhat of a rivalry, much like that of Guy and [Kakashi Hatake](https://anilist.co/character/85). Lee is determined to prove that a "failure" such as himself can defeat a "genius" such as Neji. Neji, however, doesn't seem to be interested in this goal of Lee's, and Lee doesn't seem to have made an effort to prove the point to Neji. Despite this apparent clashing of ideals between the two, Neji seems to get along fairly well with Tenten, with the latter often helping Neji with his training. Neji and Tenten also tend to share opinions on Lee and Guy's overreactive behaviors, often wondering how they can train the way they do.

As a member of the Hyuuga clan, Neji possesses the Byakugan, allowing him to see the chakra flow of others and block the flow upon contact with his Gentle Fist style. As a member of the clan's branch house, Neji can never hope to be taught how to use the clan's most secret techniques by the clan's elders. Despite this, Neji has learned many of the clan's strongest techniques independently, even creating a few unique skills of his own. Because of this, Neji is known as a genius ninja and graduated from the Academy as the #1 rookie.

As a result, he was branded with the Hyuuga branch family seal at a young age so that the members of the main house could keep him in check. The Phantom Thief Kid or The Magician Under the Moonlight (Kaito Kid) is a world-renowned thief who steals treasures and gems. He is sometimes known as Kaito Kid or 'International Criminal 1412'.

Despite the fact that [Shinichi](https://anilist.co/character/1742/Edogawa-Conan) (Conan) does not care much about investigating thefts, Kid can be considered his archnemesis, as he is the one criminal (besides some members of the Black O) he can not seem to catch.

Curiously, Kaito discovers Conan's true identity (non-canon, movies only), but keeps his secret, and sometimes Conan can even count on Kid's help to solve some of his cases. However, not even Kudo Shinichi knows about Kid's true identity.

Throughout the story, Kaito Kid and Conan have crossed paths but he has always managed to escape from Conan's clutches by his special skills.

Tadahiro has the power to see the spirit world through his left eye, which is a different color from the right, and is a target of the demons in consequence.

Dino is the 22-year-old 10th generation boss of the Cavallone crime family, and was born in Italy. Dino is a young man with great skills as a fighter and as a leader. His main weapons are a whip and his pet turtle, Enzio. Like Tsuna, Dino, at first, did not want anything to do with the Mafia and was also a klutz. He became a suitable Mafia boss after Reborn became his home tutor. He came to be known as "Bucking-Horse Dino" and fixed the Cavallone's financial problems, turning them into the third most influential family. Unfortunately, Dino is so devoted to his family, that when none of his family members are around, his skills decrease dramatically, often accidentally hitting people with his whip and falling down the stairs. Dino has a large tattoo sleeve that covers his left hand and most of his arm. According to Futa, Dino is the Mafia member who cares the most for the welfare of civilians.

The "cute" one of the group, He's usually sweet and kind to others, and he often acts as a mediator for his friends. However, he is timid and prone to tears. He is known for his feminine face, and he has a complex about being perceived as a girl. He is not particularly strong, but he is a decent athlete. He is horrible at cooking, and what he makes is often inedible. His family has connections to Mine Nakahara, so he was allowed to stay in the boarding house despite coming from a normal family without much money.

Mihashi, the main character of the series, is a nervous boy with no self confidence. He is shown to have always had this personality, (which seems to come in part from his father, who displays some of the same mannerisms) however, it became much more pronounced in middle school, where he was bullied by his teammates on the baseball team after gaining a place on the team apparently through favouritism, as his grandfather owned the school. The other members of the team were resentful of this and felt that their reserve pitcher, Kanou, was far more talented than Mihashi. However, Mihashi refused to give up the mound and pitched in every one of their games, even when his teammates stopped trying and the catcher wouldn&#039;t give him signs to throw. Eventually, Mihashi decided to change schools for high school and succeeded in gaining a place in Nishiura. Although he felt guilty for ruining his junior high teams enjoyment of the game, and thus promised himself he wouldn&#039;t play baseball in high school, Mihashi let slip that he was a pitcher, and is thus dragged into the baseball club, who had no other pitcher.

Despite his low self-confidence, Mihashi is very stubborn, refusing to give up the mound even when so exhausted that he starts losing control of his pitches, and becoming upset at the idea of the team needing a reserve pitcher. He is quite guillable, loves to eat, and has a fear of dogs. Mihashi&#039;s grades are very poor, and he says he had to work hard in order to get into Nishiura. He loves pitching so much that his mother mentions he&#039;s always holding a ball, even in his sleep.

Is the newest of the Three Kings. He is the former second in command to Kurama&#039;s brigand prior to Kurama placing his soul into a mortal. Yomi, however, was reckless, losing countless men in unauthorized raids and direct confrontation, thinking it more exciting that way. Kurama, angered, sent an assassin to kill him, who failed but blinded Yomi. Yomi then grew extra ears and tuned his senses so acutely he could eventually hear all within his kingdom. He plans to take over both the demon and human planes, calling on Kurama to his side. He fights Yusuke in the tournament, barely winning after hearing Shura&#039;s shout, and loses the next round due to his injuries. Yomi then leaves to properly raise and train Shura, thanking Yusuke for helping him achieve a sense of peace he could not have attained on his own.

The main character of the story is Kamishiro Maiku, a high school student who has recently lost his parents and is now living alone.
