Kurogane is serious and extremely perceptive, being able to quickly discern Syaoran's fighting ability (along with Syaoran's blind right eye) as well as Fai D. Flourite's true nature and fighting capabilities. While he seems rather irreverent, he is also very loyal. He is likely the most experienced fighter in the group and wiser than he appears. He becomes Syaoran's sword fighting teacher, presenting the boy with the same philosophy he believes in: a sword is used to cut only when needed and not used to cut anything if it is not necessary. While serious, Kurogane is very easily irked by others, especially by Mokona Modoki and Fai, who keep calling him ridiculously cutesy nicknames such as "Kuro-puu", "Kuro-wan-wan" or "Kuro-rin". However abrasive and ruthless Kurogane may seem, he has a compassionate nature and a desire to protect. An example of this would be how Kurogane continually questions Fai on his actions and character, and lets the wizard know that he should stop hanging onto his past and embrace the future with his new companions. Or, Kurogane's own statement that "If someone wants to take away the ones I want to protect, I'll kill them too".  His compassion and protective nature is especially clear when his actions early in the series are compared to his actions later on. He had straight out told Syaoran in their first world, the Hanshin Republic, that the quest has nothing at all to do with him. In the next world they visit (Koryo Country) however, Kurogane offers his services to help raid the castle of an evil lord, and stays behind in battle to let Syaoran go on ahead. Eventually, he risks a loss in strength to avenge his comrades' "death" (they were of course still alive) by defeating their killer in battle. It is noted that after he finds out Fai and Syaoran are still alive, he lost his passion for the battle.  He obtained a new sword in Ōto called the Souhi (Blue Ice or Pale Ice) and taught Syaoran the skills of sword fighting and sensing attacks from the left.

~! At the beginning of the story, Kurogane told Syaoran that he would not help in finding Sakura's feathers, since it was not related to him. However, he ended up aiding Syaoran and the others anyway, teaching Syaoran how to fight and use a sword as well.  In the Tokyo arc, Kurogane was involved in a short fight with Kamui. Later, he wished to Yuuko to save Fai's life, after Fai's eye was ripped out by the clone Syaoran. Through an arrangement by Yuuko, Kurogane and Kamui mixed their blood and forced Fai to drink it. Fai thus became a vampire and survived. Since it was not Fai's wish to live but Kurogane's, Fai can only take blood from Kurogane. Fai painfully refrained from calling Kurogane nicknames from then on, in an effort to distance himself from Kurogane.  Kurogane noticed that Fai and Sakura were up to something in the Infinity world, but did not say anything. After Sakura left, however, he finally spoke up, refusing to let Fai give up his eyesight to go to Celes. Kurogane told Yuuko they would all pay a fourth of the price to go save Sakura's body from Celes.  In the latter parts of Volume 20, Ashura used his magic to show Syaoran, Kurogane, and Mokona visions of Fai's tragic past. This caused an angry and betrayed Kurogane to unsheathe his sword and attack Ashura and Fai. He and Fai fought a fierce battle that devastated the room around them. In the mayhem, Kurogane destroyed the body of Fai's twin and managed to overpower Fai in that moment of weakness, saying to the overpowered Fai something along the lines of "I thought I already told you I don't have anything to do with your past". Kurogane then turned on Ashura, demanding to know why he'd shown them Fai's memories. The king responded by saying that he only wanted Fai to "grant his wish" and kill him. Ashura then launched vicious spells against Fai, Kurogane, Syaoran, Mokona, and a defenseless Sakura's body in order to force Fai's hand. In the chaos that followed, one of the massive ice stagamites that he conjured pierced Kurogane through his lower right side.  Korogane is then apparently spared the damage due to the protective spell that placed upon him before leaving Japan by Tomoyo. He then stabs King Ashura, and after the King's death the group is seen possibly leaving for the next world.  Fai's second curse caused him to suck up the world of Ceres; Fai tries to transport Kurogane and the others out of the small sphere that Ceres has become, but he doesn't have enough magic to do so. He only succeeds in transporting Syaoran, Sakura, and Mokona. Then Mokona's earring (a magical tool made by Yuuko) was able to drill a hole into the sphere, but only one person could pass through. When Fai told Kurogane to leave him, Kurogane cut off his left arm and left it and Souhi as a sacrifice and rescued Fai.  In chapter 167, Kurogane wakes up and finds himself back in his country, with Princess Tomoyo by his bed. Tomoyo welcomes Kurogane home and asks him if he has found out the true meaning of strength, to which he replies that he doesn't know. However, he explains to Tomoyo that he doesn't regret giving up his arm to take Fai with him, and tells her that he knows that some things can't be protected only by (physical) strength. This surprises Tomoyo, but she acknowledges that Kurogane has definitely realized the true meaning of strength. She then lets Fai into Kurogane's room. Kurogane seems genuinely pleased to see Fai, while Fai doesn't express much emotion, until suddenly - he punches Kurogane. Kurogane doesn't quite react to this, far too startled. Fai then smiles at him, saying "This is payback, Kuro-sama." The smile seems like the real thing, and Fai has gone back to using suffixes on Kurogane's name. Kurogane grins back, promising to beat Fai up for that.  In chapter 169, Kurogane is approached by Fuuma who has come to Nihon Country with an artificial arm from Piffle Country, however Kurogane refuses the arm by saying that he "will not pay anything to that witch for it." Fai replies by saying that he had agreed to pay the price while he slept, and gives up the last of his magic. In the second to last page of 169, Kurogane is seen with the arm attached, but claims that it "feels weird"!~

The male lead of the series. Corporal Oland has been a soldier for as long as he can remember. During the war, he was part of a special - and secret - division of soldiers trained to take out tanks singlehandedly. Even though he&#039;s unstoppable in battle, he is otherwise a very gentle and caring individual. He has enormous respect for Lt. Malvin and is the only one to never question the usefulness of the Pumpkin Scissors war relief division.

1st Brother, French/Jewish - Amshel Goldsmith, London stockbroker. (appearance age 44) He tries to bring Saya to their side at first, killing Liza and assuming her form to reveal Saya her true nature. But is  later forced to propose Saya&#039;s extermination when she decides to continue fighting. He is the oldest and the most powerful of Diva&#039;s Chevaliers, and used to work with the original Joel Goldshmidt

Professor Aston Collins was once the second-in-command of the Red Shield, primarily in charge of researching the chiroptera with Julia as his assistant. He grew increasingly frustrated at being unable to ever publish his research. Van Argiano approaches him about joining Cinq Flèches and Collins agrees and betrays the Red Shield by revealing the location of the organization's headquarters. He convinces Julia to join him, but turns against her after Amshel makes her Diva's personal physician. Sent into a jealous rage, he confronts Julia and attempts to murder her so he can regain his position. Right as he is about to shoot her, David runs in and acts as a human shield to protect Julia. Though he is shot himself, David is able to throw a scalpel into Collins' arm which causes him to run away screaming. Collins is never seen again in the series and his current status is unknown.

Rivalz Cardemonde is one of Lelouch's friends, usually driving Lelouch around on his motorbike as an ante for their bets on chess games. He has a part-time job as a bartender/waiter and carries an unrequited love for Milly Ashford especially when it is announced that she is going through a marriage interview.   Shown in-series and in the DVD-exclusive bonus material, Rivalz forms a fast friendship with Suzaku after he joins the student council at Lelouch's request. Kawahara is the more mature of Suguru&rsquo;s male friends. He is less out-spoken than Hamaguchi and acts as a foil to Hamaguchi&rsquo;s outbursts. Kawahara also takes Kendo class and admires Suguru&rsquo;s fortitude knowing that his parents have passed away.

Romeo's best friend. He dislikes fighting, is often the voice of reason for Romeo, and is one of the few people who cares about Romeo's well-being. He and his family are later stripped of their nobility and go into hiding with the help of Juliet and her friends. Because of his status as a noble, he also has little experience with manual labor, and Curio gives him shelter rather reluctantly. He later tells Romeo about the assassination attempt and tells him he'll be waiting for the day he becomes the Duke who'll save Neo Verona.   He also takes care of Curio's house after he runs away, giving shelter to Cordelia and (apparently) Antonio after the assassination fiasco. At first Cordelia treated him somewhat like a child because of how he was unable to do menial work due to his lack of experience, despite that it seems she's developing feelings for him. The couple happily wed and later have a child by the end of the series.

A close friend of Francisco and a skilled swordsman who had lost the use of his right eye. He is also Juliet's fencing teacher, and according to him, a sword reflects the soul of its owner. His preferred weapons are axes or polearms. ~!His scarred visage originated from protecting a younger rebellious Juliet from receiving punishment from members of the Carabinieri. Though he blames his own foolhardiness for the blow, Juliet's frustration from that time gave birth to her alter ego, The Red Whirlwind.  After the Montague raid against the Capulet supporters, he goes into hiding until Juliet is captured. When he and Francisco go to rescue her, he convinces Juliet that her life is worth saving. Later it is hinted in episode 16 that he may have romantic feelings toward Juliet.  However, like Francisco, he too helped Romeo reach Juliet in her final moments. Prince of Albion and Henrietta&#039;s cousin. He and Henrietta had a romantic relationship, but is faced with their status as cousins. His vow to the water spirits is to one day be able to show his feeling to Henrietta without needing to hide it from the public. He is killed by Wardes and in the second season, revived to abduct Henrietta to Albion but killed again.  Wales is a triangle wind mage, and in the second season, he showed that nobles of royal heritage can combine their magical power with other royals and create power above pentagram grade (possibly up to decagram grade with two pentagram mages).

The leader of the Black Siblings, Kittan, makes his first appearance in the fourth episode of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. He joins Kamina and Simon in the Gurren Brigade after acquiring his own Ganman, the &quot;King Kittan&quot;. As a Ganman Pilot, Kittan is a force to be reckoned with, and an asset to the Great Gurren Brigade.  Despite his sometimes obnoxious attitude and eccentric behaviour, Kittan is brave, noble, and willing to do whatever it takes to ensure that his friends escape whatever dangers they may encounter, no matter what the cost.

~!After the war, Kittan became the Chief of the Legal Affairs Bureau in Kamina City, but resigned after discovering about Rossiu's plan to evacuate Earth using the Arc-Gurren, along a small fraction of the human population, and abandoning the rest to die, when the moon falls. Kittan is another character to have Spiral Power. He awakens it when he destroys the Death machine. It allowed him to use the King Kittan Giga Drill Break, which lead to his death.!~

Ken Hidaka had also stayed at her orphanage for a short time after his own mother&#039;s death.     However, the Sister actually was using the children living in the orphanage to commit crimes, controlling them via hypnosis she implanted during their counseling. While Ken was revisting after being reunited with a friend he knew from the orphanage, he met Nagi - and it was during this that Weiss received a mission to target Sister Amamiya. It was Ken who ultimately killed the nun. Nagi witnessed the murder, and as a result of his devastation, he made the church collapse by using his telekinetic powers. From there on he vowed to kill Weiss, and hated Ken in specific.     After the incident, Crawford recovered the boy and sent Nagi to Germany to study at the Rosenkreuz facility for a brief time. Then Nagi started to work with Schwarz to get revenge on the world, for the way everybody treated him when he was a child. Nue is intelligent and caring, but overall fairly serious. Not much is known about him. He has short, spiky lavender hair and dark blue eyes. One thick lock of hair curves back, and he wears a large, black cape over his regalia.      The Thunder Regalia was heavily damaged in an earlier battle, but thanks to a rather quick re-tuning, Nue was able to arrive in time to save Kazu and co. from Gabishi. Nue is later present to hear Spitfire&#039;s final words. He then reveals that he, along with all the members of Black Crow are second generation Gravity Children. Although he disagrees with the Takeuchi brothers&#039; methods, he tells Ikki that Black Crow will remain part of Genesis, because Takeuchi Sora has promised to change the world so as to enable the Gravity Children to live a normal life.    - Road -  Nue is the current Thunder King of the Rising Road. He is the only current King who has not received much characterization in terms of his Road or his style of riding, so his philosophy as a Storm Rider has not been revealed.     - Regalia -  Nue&#039;s Regalia is unique in that it&#039;s the only full body Regalia of the AT world. Apart from his neck and head, his whole body is encased in the Regalia. Nue specializes in manipulating electricity and magnetism, allowing him to create hallucinations and/or powerful electric attacks with his wire system built into the Thunder Regalia, even if he doesn&#039;t need his Regalia &quot;armor&quot; to create powerful electric attacks. Atmosphere Max - Once his desired target is completely entangled by his wires, Nue generates a large surge of electricity from his Regalia and sends it through the wires, essentially cooking the afflicted enemy. Even Gabishi, a King-level Gravity Child and a member of Sleeping Forest, was instantly knocked out by this trick.    Illusions - Nue uses his Regalia to mess with his enemy&#039;s brain waves, causing them to hallucinate and see things that aren&#039;t real. He uses this to great effect with the help of his team, who can actually strike foes (making the trick even more convincing).

Kogoro seems to grin and laugh all the time, regardless of his actual feelings. His hobbies include collecting colored boxes. Sakura is a second year junior high school student whose life changed the day the &quot;Bludgeoning Angel&quot; Dokuro-chan appeared. From that day on, he went from the life of a normal boy to one filled with bloody clubbings by said angel. In the future, Sakura is apparently destined to create a technology that stops girls from aging after they reach the age of twelve years, which has led to Sakura gaining a reputation as a pedophile around his school. While not perverted by nature, Sakura still manages to get into tricky situations with Dokuro. He has a crush on his classmate and friend Shizuki Minakami, though he is too afraid to tell her, but soon he develops feelings for Dokuro despite the way she treats him.


Yamato is the classmate of Maron, Chiaki and Miyako. He holds the position of class president,  though most of the class seems to lack respect for him because of his gentle, unassuming nature. Yamato is a shy student who has a big crush on Maron. His innocent and pure heart makes it easy for demons to possess him. Later in the series, he joins Miyako to try and catch Sinbad. Though he has a crush on Maron, Miyako catches his attention, and in volume 6 of the manga, he confesses. She gets angry and pushes him into the lake, thinking he was making fun of her, and to prove his love he tried to kiss her. She smacked him away though, blushing. However, as shown in volume 7, he does marry Miyako and they have a son named Shinji (the reborn form of Access).

Tosei&#039;s catcher.

Mabashi is unique in his overall appearance. His orange-red hair is messy and long on the right side, but clean and cut short on the left. He wears shorts and a sleeveless shirt (both sporting a black trim). The red necklace he wears is used to connect his doll&#039;s sealed form.     Originally, Mabashi did not seem to care if his views went against Kariya&#039;s, as he refused to drink the bitto&#039;s elixir. He is a staunch defender of the rule that Bount should not drink living souls. But after Kariya forced him to, his personality changed. He seems to be overconfident and facetious. Against Soifon, he didn&#039;t even find it necessary to fight her, suggesting that he is not a very perceptive fighter who leaves the heavy duty work to his doll, Ritz. Mabashi cares for the doll with his life, seen when his doll is defeated, and gets mad that she was hurt. He also comment during her &quot;playtime&quot; with Orihime, Rukia, and Kurōdo that she was cute.    He has a nasty side, liking to be sadistic when he pitted Rukia against Orihime. He is shown to be laid-back, evident when he allows his doll to control his opponent while he gives orders from the sidelines. Mabashi takes joy in sitting back and watching his doll mess with people. He is also an instigator who likes to antagonize others, be they enemies or allies. He is disrespectful to the people higher than himself, especially Yoshi. Though he only appears a few times, he has his ways to make himself be known well. He apparently does not have a good relationship with Yoshi, whom he frequently insults and calls her &quot;old and ugly&quot;, leading to both verbal and physical clashes between the two. The grim reaper himself. He is by far the most powerful character in the series. He is a bit of a joker but when the time comes, he's all business. His number is 42-42-564 (shini-shini-koroshi), which literally means die-die-kill in Japanese. He has a special move called a “Direct Noggin Shinigami Chop” (which is normally shown when the Shinigami shows his hand, which is a large, flat, four-fingered hand appearing from his robe). This is both a joke and a real move. He constantly has to put up with Death Scythe’s antics when it comes to Maka or her progress. He seems to take on a more playful attitude when talking with his son, Death the Kid (he says he likes his son's three white stripes). Shinigami's soul wavelength is so large that it entirely covers Death city.

Nezumi Otoko is a rodent-like youkai-human halfbreed. He has been alive for three hundred years, and in that time has almost never taken a bath, rendering him filthy, foul-smelling, and covered in welts and sores. While he is usually Kitaro's friend, Nezumi Otoko will waste no time cooking up vile schemes or betraying his companions if he thinks there's money to be had or a powerful enemy to side with. Inui Arihiko is Tohno Shiki's classmate and best friend. When Shiki was living with the Arimas, he often used to hang out with Arihiko. He has a competitive attitude against Shiki; Arihiko wants to get a girlfriend before Shiki does. As the player moves through the story, the player will discover that sometimes, Shiki cannot grasp how he became friends with Arihiko in the first place, since Shiki believes Arihiko has a "weird personality"; Yet at one point in the game, when Shiki collapses in class due to his condition, Arihiko is the one who loudly informs the teacher that Shiki is sick and needs to be excused. Arihiko then proceeds to help a physically-weakened Shiki to the medical office, thus demonstrating a personality trait that might, depending on the player's subjective perception, serve to explain why Shiki continues to be friends with Arihiko despite Arihiko's sometimes-callous behavior.

The red jewel on his sword and brooch distinguish Orson as a man possessed by Hyuri, a spirit of war and rage. Whenever his rage builds, such as when his companion Shiris is threatened, he becomes an utter terror, able to cut his sword thrugh rock with the energy his rage carries. Parn himself is shocked at the fury Orson possesses, and it is Shiris who ultimately calms him down.  The sheer fury of the Berserkers is known to all, even the Dark Elves. It is the presence of Orson that forces Pirotess and the other Dark Elves to retreat and let Deedlit be.  He and Shiris join Parn and the others, and he will be with King Kashue when they strike the dragon with the Holy Lances of Myree, bringing Fire Dragon Mountain down upon it. And later, even as Parn leaves to warn the other kingdoms, he sees the darkening sky and senses the danger. He and Shiris will follow that darkness and find Parn in terrible shape. Orson is among the first to understand Parn's concern for Deedlit, so he suggests that while Parn heads for Marmo, he and Shiris would ride to call the other kingdoms of Lodoss to arms.
