Emilia is the main female protagonist and the Hero who defeated the Demon King Satan. After forcing the Demon King to retreat from Ente Isla, she followed him to modern day Japan to ensure his destruction. However, just like the Demon Lord, she lost most of her powers upon her arrival and was forced to assume a Japanese name. She was also forced to find employment, and so became a call center agent. She is a half human and half angel.

Overall, Emi is a strong-willed and determined hero, displaying many admirable qualities befitting of one in her position; among which are a pure heart, boundless courage, unwavering loyalty to those closest to her, and a deep-seated desire to protect the innocent. Moreover, she lacks self-confidence and gets angry/frustrated easily. While initially hesitant to become the great hero of Ente Isla, the death of her father at the hands of Lucifer's Army ignited a fire in the heart of the young hero, giving her a motivation to train harder and strike down those who destroyed her village. Due to her personal losses, she sees all demons as her enemy, most of all their leader, Satan Jacob.

Shinoa Hiiragi is Guren's sergeant and one of the squad leaders of the Moon Demon Company. She is appointed to supervise Yuuichirou during his suspension from the Japanese Imperial Demon Army for his reckless behavior. She is sarcastic and enjoys teasing others, especially Yuuichirou. 

Her Demon Weapon is Shikama Douji (四鎌童子, lit. Four-Scythe Child), a manifestation-type demon weapon which takes the form of a large scythe, but can be condensed into a pen-like object. She can call out the demon, which she fondly addresses as "Shi," inhabiting it out of the weapon to attack an enemy. Her primary ability is to detect anything that comes within the attack radius of her scythe.

Despite being a member of the distinguished Hiiragi family, Shinoa is uninterested in their internal power struggle. Moreover, due to her sister's legacy, she is generally shunned by the upper echelon of the army. However, she is loyal to Guren and to the members of her squad. 

A childhood lacking in familial warmth left Shinoa with little understanding of the importance of friendship and camaraderie. She is moved by Yuuichirou's unwavering loyalty to the members of his squad, who he considers his family, and wants to foster the same feelings for them herself.

She is a student in class 3-E of Kunugigaoka Junior High School, taught by Korosensei.   Okuda is shy and rather introverted. She admits that she isn't really good with surprise attacks and expressing things in language. She excels in chemistry and capable of making poisons for assassinations.

She generally watches all kinds of anime, but holds a particular fondness for magical girl anime for young girls. She likes to cosplay. She previously lived in the United States due to her parents' job.

Kohaku is a young woman who is a descendant of modern humans. She is Ruri's younger sister and the daughter of Kokuyo. She appears to be well known in her village due to her combative abilities, as both Kinro and Ginro were afraid of her. Kohaku excels at fighting, hunting, and general survival skills. She is a tomboy by nature, having little interest in more typical feminine activities and has little knowledge about them, although she does seem to enjoy some lavish clothing that was provided to her. She possesses a sharp instinct and intellect.

Kohaku is a kind young woman, caring deeply for her sickly older sister, willing to participate in the tournament for her hand in marriage just to protect her. This care extends to her comrades, and anyone she's loyal to. In addition to this, she has a reckless and hotheaded personality, often reacting in anger to being called a gorilla or lioness due to her strength and physicality. She also acts on her emotions at times, going against rational thought. She also has a bit of a teasing side, asking Chrome if he could fall for her to her resemblance to her sister.

A noble Knight of Mirvor with a long name who has come through the gate to rescue the kidnapped fairy and punish those responsible for kidnapping her. She wields a sword and can use some magic but is unaccustomed to Earth and its modern technology.
