As Trigun unfolds, it becomes apparent that Knives believes that humans are parasites that need to be exterminated. He wants to create a peaceful and fair world with Vash and his other plant brethren, and he believes the only way to do this is by killing off all humans. Knives never claims to be a god; simply a superior being to homosapiens. If Knives were able to kill all humans and begin creating his "Eden" on Gunsmoke, it is very likely that he would act similarly to Vash, and act as a kind and loving individual. This can be seen in the final episode of the anime, where Knives peacefully rests amidst the oasis he has created and greets Vash as his brother arrives, but this could actually be a facade of placidity. Yoshikazu Suzuki (鈴木 良一 Suzuki Yoshikazu?), best known as "Old Man" (おっちゃん Occhan?). Not much is known about him except that he is a fairly old widower who has a grandson. Surprisingly, it does not take long for Kurono to grow attached to him and vice versa. He sees Kurono as a role model, and even gives his 100 points to revive his friend Masaru Kato so that Kei may leave the game. He sees Kurono as the world's hope for "survival". He has saved Kei's life multiple times and he emulates Kei. After Kei dies however, it seems as if his morale lowers and he sides with the majority on not trying to help others because it was too dangerous. During the mission in Italy, he is killed by dismemberment while protecting Inaba from a group of new powerful enemies.  (Source: Wikipedia)

__Nen type:__ Enhancement

None other than the Chairman of the Hunter Committee, and the final authority over the entirety of the Hunter Exam. He has enough administrative power to grant anyone the Hunter's license if he decides to do so, and enough combat power to playfully avoid attacks of the main heroes single-handedly when they challenge him. All examiners, even the most despotic ones, obey his orders without talking back.  He was said to be the strongest Nen user in the world 50 years ago, but he comments that he is already past his prime at his current age and that his subordinates might be stronger than him now (yet his direct subordinates disagree). Netero is also revealed to be older than Zeno Zoldyck (Killua's Grandfather), who is said to be 67 years of age. 

At one point, Zeno says that when he was still a young boy, Netero was not only already old, but he is the only person alive who has fought with Maha (Zeno's) grandfather. Various stated times would put Netero over the three digit mark. He is able to use attacks faster than the speed of sound. He also uses the hyakushiki kannon which is also known as the 'Hundred Style of Buddha'. This utilizes nen to make the attacks seem as if they had come from another side and or dimension, simply because they move so fast.  In the manga he is also shown fighting chimera ants and is heading towards the destined fight with the King. His assistants Morau and Novu note that he was the strongest Nen user 50 years ago, and show great respect for his abilities.

## <b>Isaac Netero's Abilities:</b>

~! __100-Type Guanyin Bodhisattva__ (百ひゃく式しき観かん音のん, Hyakushiki Kannon)
_Type: Manipulation_
Netero summons a multi-armed Nen construct behind himself which takes the form of a gigantic statue of Guanyin. To execute an attack, Netero clasps his hands together in a fluid motion, as if in prayer, after which one of the arms on the statue strike down upon his target in conjunction with Netero's hand motion. The procedure is repeated before every attack. Due to Netero’s immense speed, the whole process can be carried out in far less than 0.1 seconds, up to thousands of times per minute. A single palm strike from the bodhisattva was enough to push Neferpitou a considerable distance away without the Chimera Ant fully understanding what had happened. The sheer number of arms makes it so that the possible combinations are so numerous Meruem regarded them as being practically infinite, and it is only by detecting Netero's unconscious bias for one move over another that he managed to best the ability. Due to this its extreme speed and power, Zeno Zoldyck considers the 100-Type Guanyin Bodhisattva the chairman’s most dangerous ability.
It is unknown if the construct is conjured or emitted, in which case Transmutation might also be in play.

__First Hand__ (壱いち乃の掌て, Ichi no Te)
_Type: Manipulation_
After clasping his hands together, Netero performs a chopping motion, causing the bodhisattva to strike the target with a chop. When used against Meruem, it caused the King to spit out blood and comment that he could not see the attack coming, creating a deep fissure into the ground.

__Third Hand__ (参さん乃の掌て, San no Te)
_Type: Manipulation_
After clasping his hands together, Netero performs a clapping motion, causing the bodhisattva to attack the target with a clap, crushing them between two of its hands. However, Meruem came out of the attack unscathed, pushing the palms apart after an instant.

__Ninety-Ninth Hand__ (九十九つくもの掌て, Tsukumo no Te)
_Type: Manipulation_
After clasping his hands together and resting his right ankle on his left calf, Netero joins his thumbs and index fingers together, making a sign with his hands that looks like the number ninety-nine. The bodhisattva unleashes a barrage of palm strikes with all its arms, resulting in a massively powerful attack that can dig deep into the ground. Netero does not need to "pray" in-between blows and instead maintains the pose that started the technique.

__Zero Hand__ (零ゼロの掌て, Zero no Te)
_Type: Emission, Manipulation, and Transmutation_
This is Netero's last resort, meant to be used only when he cannot utilize any other of Guanyin's abilities. Netero first prays with all his heart, raising only one hand. The bodhisattva then appears behind his enemy and tenderly clasps them within its palms. Then, it focuses every last ounce of Netero's aura in its mouth before mercilessly firing it as an enormous flare of unparalleled destructive power. This single attack injured Meruem more than the thousands of palm strikes that preceded it, although the damage was ultimately only superficial. Netero meditated for days in order to prepare this technique. After executing it, he ages rapidly as a result of his aura being completely drained. Regardless of how the statue is created, Emission is likely used to to cause it to appear away from Netero himself, or in the beam itself.!~ 











Easily recognizable by his huge, bristly mustache, Shunsaku Ban, also affectionately known as “Higeoyaji” and/or “Mustachio”, is one of Tezuka’s longest-running characters.  Most often cast in the role of a spirited, if not particularly sophisticated, middle-aged man, he has appeared in many of Tezuka’s most important series, including (but not limited to): Lost World (1948), Metropolis (1949), Next World (1951), Astro Boy (1952-68), The Adventure of Rock (1952-54), Lion Books (1956-57), Black Jack (1973-83), The Three-Eyed One (1974-78), MW (1976-78), Rainbow Parakeet (1981-82), among many others. Short-tempered and rough, he is also warm-hearted with a burning sense of justice – perfect for his usual occupation as a plucky detective.

It is interesting to note that, even though Shunsaku Ban appears in so many of Tezuka’s series, he didn’t really create him.  As Tezuka confesses in his book I am a Manga Artist, Higeoyagi’s character design is in fact based on a doodle that a good friend of Tezuka’s drew of his own father, when both were in middle school.  Tezuka swiped it and used it in Old Man Detective, one of his early amateur works, and he soon became an indispensable part of Tezuka’s work.

Don’t miss a rare appearance by Shunsaku Ban as a young man, with jet-black hair and sans his famous mustache, in the Lion Books (1956-57) chapter entitled “The Green Cat” (1956).

Ippei Mine is a rodeo champion, was orphaned while still a young boy. His mother died trying to save him from a pack of wolves. After his mother's death, he grew bitter, aloof, but cool under crisis. He learned how to live in the streets and perform odd jobs. This kind of life strengthened his personality. Upon joining the rodeo, he learned to ride horses and how to use a whip. He found his greatest friend in a white stallion known as Aiful ("Alpha"). The two, man and beast, became inseparable.

He won two rodeo championship contests with Aiful as his horse. Then one day, The Earth International Defense Force asked Ippei to join the team. When he refused, he was taken forcibly, so for the first time, Ippei and Aiful were separated. Dr. Hamaguchi has Aiful brought to Big Falcon early in the series. His uniform was blue. He pilots the Volt Bomber (Arms) and has a Maverick and Iceman-like rivalry with Kenichi.

A distant ancestor of Captain Harlock and author of the book "My Youth in Arcadia," which chronicled his adventures as an aerial explorer. The one we see recalled in the Arcadia feature shows Phantom F. Harlock en route to Rabaul, New Guinea, by way of the Owen-Stanley mountain range. At first unable to crest the tall peaks, he mounts a second attempt when he seems to hear the mountains laughing at his failure. Jettisoning all excess fuel, leaving only enough for ten minutes' more flight time, he trusts his fate to the lightened plane, which he loves as his own flesh and blood, and nearing the tallest peak he sees a ghostly apparition of a woman's face: the Owen-Stanley Witch.    Many people have interpreted this sequence to say that Phantom dies in the attempt, though this is at odds with all logic, as he clearly survived to write of this exploit in his book. The "Witch" incident and the necessary lightening of the Arcadia's load are paralleled by the future Captain Harlock's travails in the Flame Stream Prominence, in one of the film's most clearly expressionistic story points: note that Phantom F.'s biplane changes color during the opening sequence, a color change mimicked by the battleship Arcadia in later times.
