Misaki first appeared when she contacted the Sakuragi Institute after her Pochama found its way to Kuchiba City and was brought to the Institute by Satoshi and Gou. The two arranged to bring it to Sinnoh for her. Misaki met them soon after they arrived and was reunited with her Pochama.
