Mai Minase is the main character in the first OVA of Liminality. She was invited to the game club by her boyfriend Tomonari Kasumi to play in &quot;The World.&quot; Both of them fall unconscious, and when Mai recovers, she learns that her boyfriend is still in a coma. She too is looking for answers.    She is a very good violinist, and her mom pushes her to do it for a living, even though she only wants to play it as a hobby.

The lead female character in the anime Ai yori Aoshi.  Aoi's name in Japanese means blue and she is usually described throughout the anime as a traditional Japanese beauty.  She is introduced in the anime as being the future wife of the anime's lead male character, Kaoru Hanabishi. Birthday is July 7th.

A timid young girl who ends up becoming Tetsuo&#039;s companion and Akira&#039;s babysitter.     ~!In the manga, Kaori is introduced after Neo-Tokyo is destroyed by Akira when she tries to get food for her crippled father. After she&#039;s discovered that she isn&#039;t a member of The Great Tokyo Empire, she&#039;s denied food and later on recruited by Tetsuo&#039;s aide with three other girls to serve as Tetsuo&#039;s playmates.     Tetsuo gives each of the girls the government-issued drug, and mistaking it for a medicine, Kaori instead saves it for her sick father; which ends up saving her from sharing the fate of the others girls whom end up being killed by the strong effect of the drug.    Her caring and innocent nature earns her Tetsuo&#039;s trust and genuine affection, and she becomes the person to whom he turns for comfort, especially whenever he suffers the strain of the power evolving within him. After Tetsuo begins to mutate and he no longer able to control his powers, his aides plan to assassinate him; hearing of that Kaori takes off to warn him, but gets shot by them.    When Tetsuo finds her dying body, he enters a battle with the American army, then with Kaneda. Later on he attempts to revive her, but fails. He then carries her dead body to Akira&#039;s cryogenic chamber and she was last seen by Kei when she takes cover inside it after Tetsuo&#039;s body goes through another mutation.!~ 

Rani met up with Claire with her mother.  When the mother left her to go get the car she was trapped in the airport with Claire and the infected.

A friend of Orihime Inoue and Tatsuki Arisawa. She has curly brown hair, and she often doesn't know what she's talking about, which sometimes causes embarrassment to her friends. She has a tendency to be curious, which is shown when all the girls are having lunch. She asked Rukia Kuchiki if she had any romantic feelings for Ichigo Kurosaki, a statement Rukia denies. She is currently asleep with the rest of Karakura town in the Soul Society. 

She is Hinamori Momo&#039;s Zanpakuto in physical form. Tobiume&#039;s spirit is that of a small girl dressed in traditional Japanese clothing. She carries two large round bells, such as the ones used in temples, tied to the long pink sash that encircles her body. She has long black hair and wears a hairpin in a shape, similar to Momo&#039;s shikai, in it. Along with Sode no Shirayuki, she is one of the most gentle spirits shown so far, apologizing to her opponents during her attack and, before revolting, she indeed consoled Momo Hinamori during her depression caused by Aizen.    When released, Tobiume&#039;s blade straightens and produces several jitte-like prongs along its length. In this form, Tobiume acts as a focus for Hinamori&#039;s spiritual power, concentrating it into energy bursts capable of cratering floors and breaching walls. She can also compress her power into massive energy balls and toss them from the blade&#039;s tip. To complement her kidō-based zanpakutō, Hinamori is noted to be talented with kidō spells as well, able to combine kidō abilities with her own zanpakutō to easily deal with three powerful Arrancar at once.

Rukia is a Soul Reaper from the Soul Society who met and saved [Ichigo Kurosaki's](https://anilist.co/character/5/Ichigo-Kurosaki) life by lending him her spiritual power. After saving him, she is forced to temporarily remain in the human world, using a gigai given to her by [Kisuke Urahara](https://anilist.co/character/210/Kisuke-Urahara) until she can regain her strength and return to the Soul Society. She chooses to live with Ichigo in order to keep an eye on him and have a place to stay. Initially born into a lower class, Rukia retains her modesty, despite being an adopted member of a noble bloodline. She is graceful and "clean", yet is willing to talk to ordinary people. However, her cool and lone demeanor often forces her to hide her personal troubles, even from those close to her. Because of her never opening up her heart, she has difficulty making friends. She can also act like a bit of a tomboy at times, wanting to show others that she's tough and getting aggressive towards others when they insult her. Rukia is clueless about the ways of the modern Human World, often making misconceptions and struggling with the simplest of things like opening a juice box. She likes to climb up to high places and loves everything rabbit-themed, becoming quite sensitive when someone insults her obsession with them. People often have difficulty understanding her drawings, which are typically rabbit-like, and doesn't like it when people complain about their quality.

Rukia and her older sister, [Hisana](https://anilist.co/character/18964/Hisana-Kuchiki), were brought together to 78th District of Rukongai after they died in the human world. Hisana abandoned Rukia when she was still a baby since she could not continue to support both herself and Rukia. Rukia grew up on her own until she met [Renji Abarai](https://anilist.co/character/906/Renji-Abarai) and other children her age. They worked together to steal food in order to survive and became a makeshift family.  During this time, Rukia and Renji showed signs of having spiritual power. While they initially opted against becoming shinigami, the death of all their friends prompted Rukia to suggest joining the academy for a better life.  At the shinigami academy, Renji and Rukia started growing further apart as Renji got further ahead in his training. The emotional distance continued until Rukia was asked to join the Kuchiki family. Renji expressed happiness for Rukia's opportunity but both did not admit that they disagreed with the arrangement since they would likely never see each other again. Rukia reluctantly joined the family and was immediately inducted into the 13th Division without having to graduate or take a squad entrance exam. Unknown to Rukia, Byakuya Kuchiki had adopted her in order to fulfill the last wish of Hisana, whom he had taken as his wife.!~

Kluke is the owner of the shadow Phoenix, who often uses black magic attacks. In the anime, Kluke does not receive Phoenix until late into the story and therefore stays out of combat. Phoenix has a kind motherly side to her that teaches Kluke how to protect her friends. Besides using various barriers in battle, Phoenix also has the ability to teleport.  from wikipedia

Kluke seems like a very "mature" girl at her young age, but behind that beauty, lies a dark side that is expressed whenever she hits Shu over the head with a frying pan.  She gets angry pretty easily but cares very deeply for her friends, whom she is scared to see get injured or die in their battle with the Grand Kingdom.  She has come along on the journey with Shu so that she can stay by his side, as she promised.  Plus, she likes to cook and thinks she can (but not able to, according to Shu) and has a lot of medical knowledge passed down to her from her deceased parents.  She loves robots and is good at repairing.  She could make a good mechanic one day.  She gets along with nearly everyone, but the only person she seems not to get along with is Bouquet because she seems to get too jealous very easily of her relationship with Shu.  Her relationship with Bouquet, is similar to the rivalry Shu has with Jiro to be the top-dog.

Tomoyo (Madison Taylor in the English dub) is the best friend of the series heroine, Sakura Kinomoto. When she discovers that Sakura has become the Cardcaptor, she becomes Sakura's primary assistant by designing "battle costumes" and filming all of her magical (and non-magical) endeavours. (The videotaping, however, seems to be more to Tomoyo's personal benefit and enjoyment than it is to Sakura's.) Tomoyo faithfully keeps Sakura's new identity secret and often covers for her in times of need. Tomoyo is very mature for her age. One of her major character traits is her selflessness towards Sakura. Tomoyo is kind, caring, highly intelligent, beautiful, meticulous, and very melodic (she has a superb singing voice and often has solos in choir recitals). She always speaks using formal verb conjugations and expressions, giving her a unique air of refinement amongst the cast. When needed, Tomoyo can exhibit considerable cunning and resourcefulness, which was most prominently displayed in the final movie.  

Saga Bergman is the first main character of the story. Her mother has died, but her father&#039;s fate is never clarified. She lives with her grandmother in a fictitious small German town called M&uuml;hlenburg in the anime; they live in Guttenburg in the manga. She works in a coffee shop and keeps to a strict schedule. In an attempt to get everything finished, she still tends to run late - her encyclopedic knowledge of shortcuts means that she still appears organized. She finds Sugar by accident and offers her a home, which Sugar accepts gratefully.    Saga plays her mother&#039;s piano in the local music shop, because they had to sell it, and respects great pianists. She often has trouble trying to appear sane to her friends when talking to what seems like nothing (as fairies are invisible to other humans).     ~!When Sugar leaves Saga to return home, Saga loses the ability to see fairies- and it is implied that people go through the fairy phase when younger so that fairies can gain &#039;twinkles&#039;.!~    (Source: Wikipedia)

Chii is a Persocom who is found by Hideki Motosuwa in a garbage dump. At first, she is only able to say "Chii", thus earning her that name. Later on, she is taught various things, and is eventually able to communicate with other people.

~!She is a Chobit, a legendary Persocom that is capable of thinking independently and feeling human emotions. Her real name is Elda. She was created to be a "little sister" to Freya, the first Chobit, after Chitose Hibiya noticed Freya becoming increasingly sad. After Freya eventually breaks down, Elda takes Freya's mind into her own in an attempt to save her. In the manga, this causes her own memories to reset. In the anime, Hibiya resets Elda's memories in order to find the One just for her.  Chi has a special program installed on her designed to connect to every persocom on the planet. In the manga, if Chi fails to find the One just for her, she would delete the ability for persocoms to recognize humans from one another. In the anime, if Chi does find the One just for her, the program would give all persocoms the ability to feel real emotions.!~

A stray cat which Third Princess Euphemia befriends after she arrives in Area 11. Arthur is later chased throughout the school grounds by the entire student body after wandering into the Lamperouge residence and escaping with Lelouch's Zero mask. The student council adopts him and builds a cat house in the council room. A running gag in the series involves Arthur constantly taking a bite at Suzaku's hand or leg. Despite this typically one-sided relationship, Suzaku takes the feline along with him to Britannia, where Arthur takes a liking to Knights of the Round member Anya Alstreim. When Suzaku returns to Ashford Academy in the second season, he brings Arthur back with him.    ~!In the series finale, Arthur is shown watching over Suzaku's grave in the middle of the night. Lelouch is a student of Ashford Academy high school, where he is a member of its student council.
