Rin is a model student and idol of [Shirou](https://anilist.co/character/496)'s school. She barely talks to other students in her school and exhibits a desire to be left alone, as exemplified by her tendency to stay on the school's rooftop, away from the rest of the students. She is also secretly a Magus and a Master in the Fifth Holy Grail War. In the beginning of the anime, she summons [Archer](https://anilist.co/character/2087) for her Servant, although she originally wanted to summon Saber.

Rin is reared as the successor to her family's magecraft, instructed by her father, [Tokiomi Tohsaka](https://anilist.co/character/16017), to prioritize sorcery over her own interests. After her father is killed, Rin continues to perfect her sorcery, with some guidance from her guardian, [Kirei Kotomine](https://anilist.co/character/506). She strives to earn the admiration of her peers to avoid drawing attention to her private life, even though she is secretly stingy, tomboyish, and a perfectionist. She is perceptive, resourceful and avidly competitive.

Rin once had a good relationship with Sakura before their separation, evident by a ribbon Sakura always kept. Rin later convinced herself that Sakura was living a happier life with the Matou family than she was living as the Tohsaka family heir, and this delusion blinded her to the knowledge that Sakura was only barely keeping her own sanity in check while constantly suffering. Rin went as far as to try to preserve Shirou's life for what she thought was entirely Sakura's sake. Rin had also decided that she would kill Sakura in the events of the Holy Grail War if it came down to it. However, ultimately, she could not bring herself to do it and took the blow without harming her.!~

The story begins with Hazumu, the main character, as a boy, who always seemed to have a crush on his friend and classmate Yasuna Kamiizumi ever since he first met her. He was not very masculine in either his appearance or his actions, and so as a child he would get teased for being so feminine. In addition, several flashbacks have been featured in both the manga and anime featuring Hazumu dressed like a girl at a young age. Whether he wanted to do this of his own accord or his mother just dressed him up is never specified but regardless he didn't seem to be bothered by it; indeed he was shown to enjoy it.

Once in high school, he confesses his love to Yasuna one day, but is rejected. Afterwards, he climbs the nearby Mt. Kashima to clear his feelings. He is fatally injured by an alien spacecraft crash-landing on the mountain. In an attempt to rectify the accident, the alien pilot revives Hazumu but inadvertently changes his physical sex in the process.    After the change and initial shock of those who know Hazumu, it is shown that she has a personality that is very effusive, expressive and quite sensitive which makes her fit well as a Japanese girl. Hazumu ends up becoming more feminine as time goes on, which is shown through her actions, mannerisms and personality. One exception to this, however, is that she never got over referring to herself using the term boku (僕), meaning &quot;I&quot;, which is usually only used by males in Japan.

Hazumu, as an amateur floriculturist, loves plants (more specifically flowers), and is very knowledgeable about them. She is in the Gardening Club, and takes care of a large number of plants around the school campus with the other members though is seen doing most of the work throughout the series.

When the manga and anime versions of Hazumu's character are compared, it's shown that Hazumu in the anime is much more subdued and reserved when confronted with danger, which makes her depend more on the help of others. In the manga, she's much more of a stronger female character and doesn't get scared at talking back with a smart retort.


Marie Claire is mysterious young girl with the ability to manipulate fire. She is always by Tendou Kodzunu's side, carrying the black cat, Mephisto. She works for Munetaka Yagyuu causing chaos to disrupt the Dragon Stream, but she was also sent by her master Yagyuu to observe Kodzunu and act as a messenger.   She is devoted to Yagyuu, and is easily angered when he's insulted. Short-tempered and childlike, when she's enraged her eyes bulge, the bolts in her body screw out, and greenish fluid seeps out everywhere as her face contorts. She then releases a devastating blast that destroys her surroundings.

Ritsuka's classmate. Despite her ditzy, bubbly exterior, she is sharp and goodhearted.

Megumi wears glasses and is nearly blind without them. Surprisingly, she is a rather carless person and is often fooled by her surroundings. She is more developed then the other girls in her class and is self conscious when others notice that. She often worries about her weight, ensuring that it stays at exactly 35 kg. She is the main character of the series. In the beginning of the series, Yumi is bashful beyond words, very timid and unsure of herself. She first met Sachiko, the star of Lillian School and had her tie fixed by Sachiko, which mortified Yumi. Yumi's friend, Tsutako Takeshima, took a cute picture of this and wanted to display it in the school festival. Tsutako got Yumi to ask permission from Sachiko. Other characters often comment on how her emotions 'show on her face'.

~!After Yumi first meets Sachiko, Sachiko is arguing with the Roses in the Rose Mansion. The Roses say that Sachiko cannot object to their plan, as she did not have a petite sœur. Sachiko runs out of the meeting and knocks Yumi over. She asks if Yumi has a grande sœur, and promptly offered Yumi her rosary. Sachiko thought that if she had a petite sœur, the Yamayurikai could not force her to play Cinderella alongside a male. Yumi refused Sachiko's rosary, as she would be accepting it for the wrong reasons. Sei Satō offers a bet to Sachiko—if she could convince Yumi to be her petite sœur, the role of Cinderella will go to Yumi. If she could not, she must play Cinderella. Sachiko tells Yumi that she, Sachiko, will definitely become Yumi's sœur. But deep inside Yumi, she feels terribly hurt by how nonchalantly Sachiko chose her randomly as her petite sœur; but despite this, she feels that precisely because she still likes Sachiko very much, she has "summoned the last vestiges of her pride to refuse Sachiko's rosary, and wishes Sachiko to at least understand how hurt she feels to be 'just a random pick'".!~

~!At a dress rehearsal for the play, it is revealed that the male who plays the prince, Suguru, is Sachiko's cousin and fiancé. Sachiko accuses him of going too far and runs away; Yumi follows her to the greenhouse. Yumi at first thinks that she cannot do anything for Sachiko, but Sachiko cries on her shoulder. Yumi offers to take the rosary, but Sachiko refuses. Sachiko tells Yumi about the arranged marriage, and that Suguru does not love her, but she loves him. After the play, there is a bonfire. Yumi thinks sadly that she would not have an excuse to have anything more to do with Sachiko, but suddenly Sachiko appears and offers Yumi her rosary; this time, Yumi accepts.!~

~!When the third years are about to graduate, Yumi asks Sei if she had anything to ask her, like taking care of the stray cat Goronta, or looking after Shimako. Sei says Yumi is the type of girl who will help even if not asked, so she is not worried about Shimako. Sei instead asked for a kiss on the mouth as a parting gift; Yumi tried to run away, but Sei hugged her. Sei thanked Yumi for helping her pass her examinations, since Yumi gave Sei a reason to live again. She also said that Yumi tried to run away so that it would not be Sei who was leaving her, but the other way around. Yumi realized that this is true. Yumi often gets hugged by Sei throughout the series, who thinks her to be very cute, which sometimes makes Sachiko angry due to jealousy. Yumi finds out from Shimako, however, that Sei would actually be going to the Lillian's Girls' University, which is in the same area as Yumi's school. She gets angry at Sei for not telling her, but is happy because Sei will not be leaving her after all.!~

~!After the third years graduate, spring comes, along with the arrival of Tōko, Sachiko's cousin. Yumi feels jealous of Tōko's closeness with Sachiko, but does not say anything about it. Yumi later finds out the truth about Sachiko's grandmother dying. At the day of the funeral, Sachiko apologizes and Yumi says that she loved her onee-sama very much.!~

~!At the beginning of the OVAs, Sachiko invited Yumi to her summer home for a vacation. Sachiko's acquaintances make trouble for them, especially Yumi. They later invite Yumi and Sachiko to a party which turns out to be the eighty-eighth birthday party of one of the acquaintances' great grandmother. The acquaintances ask Yumi to play a musical instrument. Yumi says that she is no good at playing anything, but sings the song "Maria-sama no Kokoro," with Sachiko accompanying her on the piano mid-song. The great grandmother applauds and congratulates Yumi for her song, because it brings back memories. She calls Yumi a cute angel, and asks her to visit next year. That ultimately foiled the acquaintances' plans to embarrass her.!~

~!In the second OVA, Yumi sets up a casual meeting with the Yamayuri Council and the Hanadera Council to discuss the upcoming festivities for both schools. Yumi did not inform Sachiko of the meeting, because of her hatred for men, and planned to trick her into attending. However, Yumi felt she was betraying Sachiko and confessed her intentions. Yumi felt that Sachiko should attend on her own free will, because she will find herself in similar situations in the future. Sachiko noted that Yumi has learned to handle her well and that she happily complies with her wishes. We also learn about Yumi's "type" through a conversation with her brother. She describes ones who are pretty, smart, who at first seem like they have warped personalities but on the inside are warm-hearted. Yūki remarks that she's describing Sachiko, much to her surprise.!~

Anna is the third girl hired by Yoshitaka. She was originally attracted to Yoshitaka, but because of bizarre circumstances, she fell in love with Izumi and became Yoshitaka's maid in order to follow Izumi. She even travels to Holland to arrange a same-sex marriage (later finding out that, being under 16, she cannot be married). Her inability to cook is the subject of many jokes in the story. She was originally going to be the "innocent" member of the group, but her personality reverted to that of Yoshitaka's. The authors describe her as the "Yuri supplier of the group" (Yuri is girl-girl romance). The Fourth Neck (四の首, Shi no kubi), she is a delusional pop idol whose dismal sales (68th, though Reiko constantly taunts her with &quot;69th&quot;) are partly responsible for her becoming one of the Orochi. The older of the two twin maids in the Tohno mansion, Kohaku, along with [Hisui](https://anilist.co/character/2216/Hisui), is a childhood friend of [Shiki](https://anilist.co/character/2212/Tohno-Shiki). She wears a Japanese kimono and is always seen to be smiling and cheerful, being especially gifted with medicine. Mikan is the protagonist of the story.  She is a cute, energetic, good-natured girl, but her clumsiness lands her into trouble. She was accepted to Alice Academy by Narumi-sensei and could attend Alice Academy with Hotaru and many other children with extraordinary powers.  Her Alice is Nullification, which can resist the effect of Pheromone type Alices and completely negate the powers of other Alices in close proximity to her. She also possesses the Stealing Alice, which she inherited from her mother. Both of her Alices are very rare and special.

Hayate, a sweet wheelchair-bound orphan, is under the care of the Wolkenritter, though they keep their battles from her; she knows that the completion of the Book of Darkness will grant her vast power, but does not want it at the expense of the lives of others. However, the Book of Darkness is feeding off her own life force, causing her paralysis, and will eventually kill her if it is not completed... Hayate and Suzuka become fast friends after Suzuka helps her around the library, which may cause trouble if their respective friends learn that they have been fighting each other.

Kotoha is the best member of the Covert Squad and uses shurikens as her weapon of choice. She views Kuon with great suspicion and as a threat when her identity is revealed, but later comes to accept her as her leader once again. She is said to never smile, but did towards Kuon at the end of episode 16.  Kotoha is also a master of unarmed combat and disguise, posing as the caretaker of Gokujou-ryou in episode 11 during a soccer match between the Gokujou Seitokai and the student council of another school. Kinon Bachika is the second oldest of Kittan&rsquo;s younger sisters. After Team Dai-Gurren&rsquo;s capture of Dai-Gunzan, she takes up a position within its control tower, monitoring the radar. She seems to be the calmest and smartest member of the Black Siblings.    After the time-skip, she becomes one of Rossiu&#039;s main supporters. After Simon offered himself to protect the city using Gurren Lagann, even after being sentenced to death, Kinon volunteered to pilot Gurren and rig herself with bombs inside its cockpit, claiming that she would detonate them, killing her and Simon in the process, in case of him making an attempt to escape. Later, it is revealed that Kinon&#039;s resolve to follow Rossiu, despite betraying Simon and ordering his execution, was not only the fruit of her devotion to him, but because she thought it greatly pained Rossiu to do so. She strongly believes that he was not doing it for personal gain, but because the circumstances had forced him to it, though if such was really the case is the subject of debate. Koyomi is a resident of the same dormitory Michiru resides in. She is a very cheerful girl, but she also has a double personality. Unlike Koyomi's innocent and sweet exterior, her other personality, "Yomi", is without reserves and is usually fondling Michiru, despite the latter's unwillingness to do so. It appears that Michiru is the only person able to awaken this alter ego of Koyomi's, merely by kissing her or simply calling her by name.   

While Yomi seems to dislike everyone other than Michiru (for whom Yomi harbours sexual desire and deeper emotional feelings), Koyomi seems to have a slight crush on Sotetsu Asō.  Yomi also has a special ability called the "Dead Man's Tongue", which allows her to channel dead people's words.

She serves as Captain Hunks' aide and is also responsible for taking care of Mercury. She is elated to no end that with the recruitment of Randel into their unit, she finally outranks someone (other than the messenger-dog, Mercury) and has &quot;an underling!&quot;

~!She joins Gaito in his quest to take over the marine world after an incident bestowed her a dark power, turning both her orange hair and her orange pearl pitch black (though her eyes stay orange) and destroying her own kingdom. 

That incident was a proposed rendezvous with Tarou, her secret human lover, in which he never showed up. In a fury, Sara unleashed a wave of power, destroying her kingdom and causing the wave which killed Kaito's parents and from which Lucia saved Kaito.

In the manga, Tarou actually arrived, but Sara's guardian found out about the relationship and insisted that he leave, convincing Sara that he had abandoned her.!~

~!In the manga, she is also known as Black Pearl Voice and she transforms into an idol in a black dress reminiscent of a diva. However, in the anime, she does not transform until she turns good again, and instead has the power to sing offensively in a humanoid, amphibious form like the villains and mermaid idols, with or without her E-pitch.!~

In the manga, she seals the gate to Gaito's castle in the book because it's her duty and she unsealed the gate after her kingdom was destroyed. Kurumi is girl who is above average in appearance, athletics, and academics, but who nonetheless suffers from being called plain/boring all the time. If there&#039;s even a hint that somebody has called her plain/boring, she goes off to sulk alone, often in the rabbit cage with Mesousa. She has been known to fade almost completely out of existence altogether when she gets called plain/boring or ignored too much. Kurumi is a very fast sprinter, and also played varsity basketball. She is the sister of Shu Momose of class 1-A who is known for his cooking skills, something that she herself does not possess. Unlike in most anime and manga where the younger sister will call her brother Onii-chan (お兄ちゃん, Onii-chan?), Kurumi refers to her brother as Aniki (兄貴, Aniki?), which is a much more masculine way of addressing an older brother. It might be due to this that, due to her reactions as seen in episode 20, she has a fascination with how some girls in Japan are now using the pronoun boku (僕, boku?), meaning &quot;I&quot;, which is usually only said by Japanese males. It is never explained why she enjoyed this so much. From episode 11 on in the anime, she is shown with her hair grown longer. Additionally, from episode 19 on, she ties her hair in twin braids. She cuts her hair back to its original length for episode 26 and it magically grows throughout its progression.     In later episodes, after experiencing much of the unrealistic events in the first half of the series, she starts to see reality in a whole new light and starts little by little to accept giant fighting robots and small talking animals to be normal occurrences in everyday life. Despite this new outlook at how crazy her life really is, the others always seem to overlook her estranged claims. A young prodigy who joined the police force at the age of 18 with the rank of Lieutenant, she is posted in the Tokko division. Her symbiont tattoo, like Sakura, was on her right shoulder.    Her preferred weapons are two daggers that have two retractable blades. Originally having brown hair, she changed it to yellow after the massacre as a means of moving on after her parents were killed by Phantoms and the death of her younger brother, Akito, at her hands.    Kureha is very interested in Ranmaru, especially on his looks and his history. In fact, she had kissed him when they visited the cemetery where her family was resting. Yako is a 16-year-old high school girl and the very first character introduced in the manga. She meets Neuro when he appears and desecrates her father's shrine while promising to help solve the mystery of her father's death. This meeting quickly leads to a partnership: Yako becomes Neuro's cover, pretending to be an investigator while Neuro acts as her assistant.      

She has an insatiable appetite (which people often associate her with) -with a cast-iron stomach to match- and a knack for understanding human psychology that occasionally provides Neuro with the information he is unable to obtain because he is unfamiliar with how humans operate. Yako is even able to understand Neuro, to a degree, thanks to an amalgamation between the two aforementioned traits; she compares Neuro's opinion of food (puzzles) over that for oxygen (shouki) to an experience that she had (hunting for oysters underwater). Neuro enjoys abusing her, though he does compliment her at times of success, albeit through a patronizing tone.      

Despite all that Yako goes through on a daily basis, she is relatively calm during high-stress situations, such as being kidnapped by Sai. While her time with Neuro has definitely been a factor in this, it is left to question if Yako had this trait before she became Neuro's front. It is also notable that Yako's abilities, and potential, as an actual detective are shown to be growing over the series, starting with the Aya Asia case, albeit differently between both the anime and the manga.

Busty and bespectacled with purple hair, Shizuka is a brilliant mechanic who grew up in an inner city district of Shibuya and knows many people there. She is known for her poor shooting aim and is friendly, casual, and trusting with a voracious appetite for food. - Wikipedia

Lau Shimin is Klaud Nine&#039;s parasitic-type anti-akuma weapon that takes the form of a little monkey usually seen riding on her shoulder. It is the first sentient Innocence shown in the series. When invoked, it transforms into a monster that attacks with balls of energy that form at its fists.
