The protagonist, Narumi Takayuki met Haruka by Mitsuki setting them up with a date during High School. Later, after Haruka gets in the accident, he felt responsible for it and falls into a deep depression. Later in the story, he works at a family restaurant after having regressed in his studies due to the accident. In Haruka's absence, he gradually begins to develop a relationship with Mitsuki. Sensei-san, who is never given a real name, looks after the bottle fairies. He is represented by the colors brown and green. It is given that his character teaches them things about the world, but his appearances in the series are rarely significant. However, a love letter in the third episode is a crucial plotpoint to the third episode. Though his job is never stated, the last episode shows that he is a teaching assistant at a university. He is Hisagi Shuuhei&#039;s Zanpakuto in physical form. The spirit of Kazeshini takes the form a dark man that almost resembles a shadow. He has long black hair and carries a weapon similar to that of Shūhei&#039;s Shikai. Just as his image suggests he is violent and prone to rampages, and enjoys slashing his opponents. His behaviour may be why Hisagi does not like his zanpakutō.    When released, it takes the form of a kusarigama-like weapon, with two blades curving both directions, connected by a long chain. Although Shuuhei dislikes the shape of his weapon because it&#039;s &quot;shaped like something meant to reap life itself,&quot; he is extremely proficient at wielding it, capable of using the blades as both hand-to-hand weapons and projectiles, using the chain to make the weapons&#039; paths unpredictable.

Shusui is Ouka's twin brother. He is the younger of the twins. He and his sister are not actually homunuculi. He becomes an Alchemy Warrior as well after LXE falls. He's smart, the best at Kendo at Ginsei High, along with being the vice president of the Student Council, and as Kazuki and the others state, No. 1 even in terms of genital size. In the anime, he was recruited by Chitose to be a part of the team dispatched to take out Victor, however, they were defeated and forced to retreat.

Lan&#039;s actual name is simply C - it&#039;s Gingetsu who decides to name him Lan (Ran). He was called C because he was one of the three-leaf clovers that once existed, and those triplets&#039; names were A, B and C. Now he&#039;s the only one living left, and as he&#039;s living away from the Clover Project research facility, he&#039;s aging quickly (that&#039;s why we can see Ran as a child in the last volume flashback, and as a boy in his late teens or even early twenties in the other volumes, even when two years have passed only since he met Gingetsu for first time). Actually, his life will end in five years - and though he knows it, he still wants to be away from the facility... and not only because he wants to be free - but specially because he wants to be next to the person who&#039;s most important to him. He tries to recruit Senji to the cause, but instead sparks a strong hatred in Senji against him.   ~! He sets fire to the orphanage that Senji visits frequently, driving Senji to come after him. In his final confrontation, it is revealed he too is a deadman, with a branch of sin that takes on the form of an spider-like web.!~

A hotheaded 17-year-old high school student, and the protagonist of DearS. Takeya is unused to change, which makes his acceptance of the mysterious alien girl Ren all the more difficult (especially due to the fact that Neneko constantly showed him the Alien movies when they were children). But beneath his constant mask of indifference, he has a kind heart. Takeya tends to jump into things headfirst, and waste more time panicking about a problem than solving it. He also seems to lose his temper more often than he should, and as a result, has few close friends.

Durer is the warden of the prison, who is undoubtedly very twisted and demented person. He is the son of Bollanet, a high government official, therefore the abuse he inflicts on the prisoners is hidden from the public. While Durer certainly takes turns on most of the prisoners, he pays particular attention to Vallewida, but later on, Guys, too. He&#039;s an obvious brutal and heartless sadist, but some of his more complex emotions seem to come out when abusing Vallewida. He often gets frustrated with Vallewida for not remembering his past, for Durer knows Vallewida previously hid information that could prove how Bollanet, Guildias and himself were a part of the large wheat smuggling conspiracy. When abusing Guys, however, Durer shows less of a complex side and more of his meaningless sadistic side, especially in the scenario where Guys becomes his sex slave.    If Guys manages to clear his name and gather evidence proving Bollanet&#039;s involvement in the wheat smuggling operation, it can be assumed Durer, too, loses his position as warden and is thrown into prison himself.

A young man from the Iwazakura conglomerate. He is an acquaintance of Kanade, and is deeply in love with her. He will stop at nothing to let her know how much he loves her, even though she has no feelings for him in return.

Soresta is an army friend of Alzeid and Baroqueheat. He is obsessed with Alzeid in a very stalker-like fashion, such as making dolls of him, and writing poetry. The grandfather to the Holy Roman Empire and, presumably, Prussia. His eyes are green, and his blonde hair, which he leaves long, is tied off to the left side of his head in a small braid. In the anime adaptation, his braid was removed and his eyes were changed to blue. He bears an extremely striking resemblance to Germany.    Once the best friend of Grandpa Rome, the two were noted as being inseparable. Not only was he Grandpa Rome&rsquo;s friend, but Germania was also his guard. After some time, they became enemies, and Germania was the one that dealt the final blow to an already weakened Grandpa Rome. It was said that shortly after he killed Grandpa Rome, Germania died as well.    As far as personality goes, not much is known about him. He apparently was a very brutal and intimidating warrior who didn&rsquo;t speak much. As revealed in a conversation that he had with Grandpa Rome, he would rather talk about politics than hear Grandpa Rome rant on about pretty girls.      It is possible that he may represent the region of Germania, but so far, he&rsquo;s only been confirmed to represent the Germanic Tribes.

Yuda is the successor of Nanto Kokakuken, a Nanto Seiken style specializing in long range attacks. He represents the "Star of Enchantment, also known as the "Star of Betrayal". Vain and treacherous, Yuda earned his title due to his egotistical vanity and considers himself to be the most beautiful of all warriors.  After the nuclear war, Yuda broke up the Nanto Roku Seiken by joining Raoh's army, along with 27 subordinate branches (it is later revealed he was manipulated by Souther into doing so). Vain and treacherous, Yuda keeps a harem of concubines full of female slaves who worship his beauty and is more than willing to sacrifice his own underlings for his own gain.   ~!In the past, he kidnapped Mamiya on her 20th birthday, murdering her parents before her eyes and making her part of his harem before she eventually escaped. He fights Rei, who sought to avenge Mamiya's honor. Yuda had been envious of Rei prior to the war, feeling that the beauty of Rei's Suichōken style was overshadowing his Kokakuken style. After he is defeated by Rei, he stabs himself with Rei's hands so he could die "by someone beautiful like him." At his death, he concedes that Rei is more beautiful.Also In the manga version upon his death he admits that he "could never do anything to Mamiya " as he was enchanted by her beauty as well.!~

He is Misaki's older brother.  Obliged to give up on school in order to provide for his little brother after their parents death, Takahiro is very fond of Misaki and wishes all the best for him. he is the one who is going to request for Usami to tutor Misaki in order for him to attend the college he is aiming at.   Takahiro is married. he is someone described as very dense because along all those years of friendship with Usami he never realized that the writer was madly in love with him. The way Takahiro was looking at Misaki's happiness, Usami was looking at Takahiro's happiness from the shadow. When Takahiro's company transfers him, he is happy to hear his best friend Usami is willing to take care of his little brother Misaki.

Len is a surly, quiet and rather cold violinist who normally behaves contemptuously toward and around everyone. He was a child prodigy, coming from a family of renowned musicians. His mother, Misa Hamai, is a very famous pianist and his father is a well-known violinist. Because of this, many people take his brilliance for granted. He seems very cold towards those that he comes into contact with, even his admirers, to whom he rarely pays any attention.

Before he met Kahoko he didn't believe music was enjoyable, though after spending time with her, Len slowly began to enjoy music and his music changes because of her. He slowly warms up to Hino and even gives her advice on how to hold and stand properly with the violin. People think that he acts harshly towards Hino, but deep down in his heart he is really concerned about her (though he may not show it).

As the series progresses, he realizes his feelings for her. He's slowly affected by Hino and his mother says that he has changed his character. His mother knows that Hino is the one that affected him or changed his personality. He can also play the piano as well, which may be due to the influence of his famous pianist mother, Misa Hamai.

Kenji is the male leading character of the story. He is a highschooler in his second year. He is always hanging around with his childhood friend Nanami, spending their time going to school together and working at their vegetable field on the outskirts of town. He owns a vintage Triumph model motorcycle, passed down to him by his father. He has wanted that motorcycle ever since he was a child, and his father finally decided to give it to him, although it is always breaking apart.
