Mazinger Z:  Kouji Kabuto is the protagonist of the show, an average student with great skill in driving motorcycles. He lived with his brother Shiro and his grandfather Juuzo, after his parents were apparently killed in a lab accident caused by his grandfather.  One day, Koji receives a call from his grandfather to meet him at his mountain cabin. Just as Kouji arrives however, the cabin explodes. Searching the remains, he uncovers a hidden doorway into the mountain and inside, he finds his dying grandfather who tells him with his dying wish to pilot "Mazinger Z" and stop a man named Dr. Hell.  Kouji continues into the hidden lab and discovers the huge, humanoid robot Mazinger Z, and the hover pilder which is used to control it. Honoring his grandfather's last wish, he joins up with the Photon Power Labs and fights the forces of Dr. Hell with his Mazinger Z.  Shin Mazinger:   The protagonist of the series. Kouji lives with his younger brother Shiro and his grandfather Juuzo in their manor in Atami. Though his grandfather caused the accident that apparently killed his parents, Kouji feels no ill-will towards him and in fact holds him in high regard, attacking anyone who dares insults his grandfather.   During the Ashura Corps first attack on Atami, Juuzo sends out the hover pilder to Kouji and tells him to use it to quickly fly home. Just as he reaches the manor, it is utterly obliterated as Juuzo sends out his life's work from his underground lab, the super robot Mazinger Z. After docking the pilder with Mazinger's head, Juuzo tells Kouji that with Mazinger, he has the power to do anything he wants with the world - he could even become a god or the devil. As the ultimate penance for accidentally killing his parents, Juuzo will make his grandson superhuman. Having been granted this new-found power, Kouji decides that he will use it to fight the Kabuto family's long-time enemy - Dr. Hell - and his army of mechanical beasts.

Old Man Swamp (Japanese: ヌマタ老人 Old Numata), also known as Mr. Swampy, is the character of the day in A Mudkip Mission. Old Man Swamp is a man who runs a shelter for Mudkip and resembles the Pokémon he takes care of. He receives Mudkip eggs from the Pokémon League and raises them to be starter Pokémon for beginning trainers of the Hoenn region. When he saw that Ash and company trespassed in his secret shelter grounds, he thought that they were trying to steal the Mudkip. Soon everything was straightened out when Ash explained how Brock saved a baby Mudkip. But Brock explained to him later that another, older, Mudkip helped rescue the baby Mudkip. Old Man Swamp has a tendency of giving out too much information. One instance was him telling Team Rocket not to break the dam because it would flood the area and the Mudkip would have nowhere to live. When Old Man Swamp saw how Brock and Mudkip worked together to save the baby Mudkip and stop Team Rocket, he eventually asked him to take Mudkip with him as it was getting too old to give to a beginning trainer. Both Brock and Mudkip happily agreed.

Hyakugan Maoh&rsquo;s son. He&rsquo;s a centipede youkai so he can control centipedes, but he was also skilled at Yin-Yang and used Mahjong pieces as mediums to control shikigami. He was the youkai who was the catalyst for Hakkai&rsquo;s transformation into a youkai, and he lost his life once at Gonou&rsquo;s hands. Just as he was on the brink of death he buried a Mahjong piece in his own body, turning his corpse into a shikigami. He never saw eye-to-eye with his father Hyakugan Maoh, so they weren&rsquo;t close. He was overcome with the need for revenge at having his entire clan, as well as himself killed, and demonstrated an almost abnormal fixation on Hakkai in his psychological attacks on the man. He&rsquo;s like a sinister reptile with a clingy temperament.    Incidentally, the things he had in his mouth like a cigarette are Mahjong counters. They can also be thrown like needles. The name Chin Yisou was one he gave himself after becoming a shikigami. It&rsquo;s the name of a Mahjong combination, as well as having the meaning &ldquo;to be dyed in one color&rdquo;.    Chin Yisou, or the single suit hand, is &quot;All tiles in the hand are exclusively of one suit with no honor tiles&quot;. Chin Yisou controlled a huge crab-like shikigami as well, but impact-wise nothing can beat this creepy China-boy &ndash;style puppet familiar. He cackles and spits seed beams from his mouth. Apachai has been fighting life or death battles in underground Muay Thai fights since he was a teenager. Later, he was an enforcer for a cruel pirate who accidentally fed Apachai while he was starving in a harbor in Thailand. He served this man faithfully until Hayato Fūrinji brought his misdeeds to Apachai's attention. The two of them then defeated the pirates, and Apachai has been at the dojo ever since.

Yasuo is Sachiko's husband, who has abandoned her and is currently in a dilapidated shack that can be aptly described as a dump, dwells. It all actually started very well, they loved each other, had a shared house and Sachiko was also pregnant. But then fell Yasuo gambling addiction, by which the marriage was suffering because he also took his wife's money in order to gamble on the tables. Even the alcohol he was not averse and when he was drunk again, it was no longer possible to talk reason with him.

Formerly known as Hot Rod, Rodimus Prime is Optimus Prime's successor. He is the leader of the Autobots (Cybertrons) after both deaths of Optimus.
