Murata Tetsuya was a swordsmith living in Edo. He was the son of renowned swordsmith Murata Jintetsu, and brother of Murata Tetsuko. He was the creator of the Benizakura bio-mechanical sword, which was based on his father's original Benizakura, as confirmed by Tetsuya's sister in Episode 59. He had severe hearing problems and often spoke like he was shouting. He helped Takasugi Shinsuke by providing him the sword he had made but didn't care for Takasugi's plots or ambition.

Sachmono is one of Neon's bodyguard. He is one of the two spies in Kurapika's test. Sachmono is a professional hunter.  He is from the Emission group. His hatsu is the ability to summon 11 assassin's made out of nen. They can wander only several meters and only respond to simple commands.

Examinee #76 during the 287th Hunter Exam. Cherry is a martial arts expert. During the 1st part of the Hunter exam, he was confronted by a murderous Hisoka. He realized the strength of Hisoka and ran, but it is implied that he was chased down and killed by Hisoka anyway, his body left in Swindler's Swamp.

Yuri's deceased father who died attempting the Legendary Great Maneuver. He was a trapeze artist at Kaleido Stage.

The Sumimura family's demon dog; he detects ayakashi with his sense of smell. He is about 500 years old. Madarao was previously known by the name of Ginro (銀露, Ginro?) and was at one time friends with Koya. He currently wears a collar that seals away his true demon form.  He is an average sized ostrich who wears three pink bows on his neck.  a runaway pet that Team 7 was tasked with retrieving but later became a member of the Four Ninja Animal Warriors.

Gamahiro is a giant toad that resides on Mount Myoboku. He sometimes called: "Hiro".  When Gamahiro first appears in the anime, his skin is colored green and brown. This is updated to a light-blue-greenish color for the Invasion of Pain Arc, keeping up with the manga's coloration.  Though he was first summoned in part I, he was not named until he was summoned again in part II.   Though Gamahiro has spoken in the anime, he has yet to do so in the manga.

One of the original eight demons who closely supported the Fuujin oni, reincarnated in the body of a frog and thus took the shape of his host.  The first demon sent after Yaiba, he led a few skirmishes against Yaiba&#039;s party, but was eventually defeated and captured. Shortly after, the Snakeman demon appeared to both attack Yaiba and get rid of the Frogman due to his uselessness. Gerozaemon, with no place to return and a peaceful nature, was welcomed into Yaiba&#039;s group after the battle against the Snakeman.    A melee fighter, he favors the use of body-slam techniques reminiscent of sumo, but can also skillfully use axes and his own tongue as weapons when needed.
