Kou Yaten is often distant and cynical about everything. Yaten does not like to socialize or do sports. His/her remarks are often sharp-edged and blunt, which further separates him/her from the world. In one episode, the other Starlights even chastise Yaten for behaving in a way that might reduce the number of fans. However, he and Luna get along well. At one point during that episode, Luna inspires him to keep on fighting.     In the anime, he has the most spiritual awareness of the Starlights, and is able to tell when Starseeds are taken by Sailor Galaxia. He views humans as untrustworthy and wants to find Princess Kakyuu so they can leave Earth as quickly as possible. This comes further to light when they discover that Usagi is Sailor Moon. Yaten believes that Seiya should stay away from Usagi, despite their wish, shared by Princess Kakyuu and the Guardian Senshi, for them all to work together. Jiro is a headstrong kid that is set on revenge for all of the destruction Nene has caused.  It has been assumed that Nene may have burnt down his village and taken his entire village (or kids) hostage, just like what happened with Shu's village.  Jiro is constantly causing rifts between him and Shu, just to make their rivalry that much more of a "rivalry."  He has been traveling with Zola for some time now and knows about "The Book of Origins" and the history of the Seven Warriors of Light.  He is the complete opposite of Shu, leading them to their rivalry. Heiji is a high school detective, and the son of [Heizo Hattori,](https://anilist.co/character/30367/Heizo-Hattori) chief of the Osaka Police Department, and his wife [Shizuka Hattori.](https://anilist.co/character/41038/Shizuka-Hattori) Heiji wants to be a detective like his father since spending his childhood looking for lost cats in his neighborhood, and he is also very skilled in kendo and has become a favored tournament contender for his school. 

At one time during their childhood, Heiji had had the unfortunate idea of locking himself and his friend [Kazuha](https://anilist.co/character/3198/Kazuha-Toyama) together with a set of old handcuffs which had no key to unlock it; as a result they involuntarily had to spend time together even on some rather intimate occasions _(i.e., bathroom visits)_ before the cuffs could be removed. During their second encounter, Conan knocked Heiji out to use him as the mouthpiece for the voice-changing bow-tie. But during his final presentation of the facts, Heiji awoke prematurely and discovered Conan's secret, and in the end managed to blackmail Conan into revealing all. Ever since that revelation, Heiji has been helping Conan in hiding his secret identity, though he constantly slips up by calling him "Kudo" in front of [Ran](https://anilist.co/character/1748/Ran-Mouri) and Kazuha. 

Heiji and Conan most often congenially team up to solve assorted cases. Heiji has also helped Conan investigate the Black Organization on several occasions, such as when the two investigated [Jodie Starling,](https://anilist.co/character/26754/Jodie-Starling) or when Heiji investigated [Eisuke Hondou](https://anilist.co/character/5351/Eisuke-Hondou) on his own and then told Conan his findings, but he never had a real direct confrontation with the primary antagonist. He has also helped cover for Conan during several of the brief instances where Conan regained his true adolescent age, and has even disguised himself as Shinichi on several occasions in order to protect his identity, even though he is not very good at it _(mostly owing to his distinctive Kansai dialect)._ When not working on a case, he regularly attempts to invite Conan to take in the sights and culinary delights of Osaka, which he considers more wholesome than Tokyo's.

Chichiri (井宿?), a wandering monk, has trained for several years with Taiitsukun, the creator. Kazuya is an electrical engineering student with a passion for building his robot squid which he calls Ikariya and implenting an A.I. (artificial intelligence) system into it. As a fat, sickly, and spoiled child, Takefumi was constantly picked on in elementary school. He was somewhat protected by the tomboy Tsubaki, who, while protecting him from other bullies, would bully Takefumi herself. When he asked Tsubaki why she paid attention to him, she told him that a teacher had asked her to look after him. After hearing this, Takefumi is humiliated as he had never been in his life; he is humiliated because he had believed that he was somehow special to Tsubaki, but he realized that she did not care about him at all, and was just obeying a teacher&#039;s request. 

He transferred to a school in another city but returns years later to attend Hokuei High School with the other characters. When he returns to Tokyo, he had lost weight, become healthy, tall, handsome, and completely unrecognizable. He intends to take advantage of the fact that no one recognizes him to get revenge on Tsubaki. Although he butts heads with Yukino at first, she recognizes that his efforts to transform himself are similar to her own obsession with her image, and they share a mutual, albeit begrudging, admiration. He is also the one to always stop the sergeant whenever the alien's plan is to completely destroy Earth, saying that if the Earth is blown away, so will all the Gundam model factories, as Gundam-making is one of the sergeant's most obsessive hobbies. He is also responsible on keeping the Kero-ball away from the sergeant, since it is a devastatingly dangerous but strange Keronian weapon that Fuyuki sometimes uses as a toy/weapon.  Fuyuki also has a unique bond with Alisa Southerncross, since Alisa always uses Fuyuki as bait to attract aliens, or "dark" or "cursed ones", as she and her father calls them. Although any other person would've absolutely hated this position, Fuyuki forgives Alisa about this, since Alisa was actually a puppet and her father thought that by hunting aliens, she would eventually gain humanity.  Their bond often infuriates Momoka Nishizawa, his classmate, who has an amorous crush on Fuyuki and often comes up with plots to attract his attention (humorously, these often-failing plots are a major part of the series' comedy). Fuyuki doesn't seem to feel any romantic feelings toward Momoka, since he always calls her "Nishizawa-san", a proper term to address a stranger or someone who is high in social class (as Momoka is extremely affluent). However, he does love her as a close friend and would never abandon her.  Despite his unearthly patience with the insanity that seems to flower in the wake of Keroro and the others, Fuyuki does have a temper. After surviving few bloody battles with Disith invaders he decided to quit fighting on front line and eventually ended up on Silvana together with Claus and Lavy.   ~! He has a brief crush on the vanship captain Tatiana Wisla but soon forgets about it realizing the futility of it as he moves on to other things. Around the end he leaves the Silvana to train again as a rifleman in a secret joint operation to take back the battleship's Claudia engines and free the world of the Guild. At this time he meets Dunya Scheer from the Disith fleet, also involved in the operation. He and Dunya fall in love with each other, climaxing in Mullin asking Dunya to go on the same ship together. Dunya accepts his request, as the operation to take back the ship's Claudia unit begins. The operation ends with Mullin taking the unit back, but being gravely wounded in the process, believed dead. Ren is a big fan of the Sex Pistols; he participated in a tribute album to them, and wears a &quot;Sid Vicious&quot; padlock around his neck that he received from Nana. Nana had an image of a lotus tattooed on her upper arm in honor of him (&quot;Ren&quot; is a Japanese name for lotus). The brand of the cigarettes he originally smoked was the &#039;Seven Stars&#039;.

Nana first met him through Nobu, who really just admired him from afar. Ren was popular around their hometown for supposedly being found as a baby in an abandoned warehouse, which he lives in to this day. He isn&#039;t ashamed of this; he actually brags about it. Ren and Nana are proven to be very similar throughout the series, but they are not totally similar. Ren seems to be more open with his love for Nana, being able to ask for her back and her hand in marriage while those thoughts just made Nana want to yell at him. Ren also really would like a family and child, while Nana really dislikes the concept because she doesn&#039;t want to be the dependent wife who makes miso soup for her husband all day.

~!Later on in the series, Ren develops a drug addiction and his life starts to spiral out of control. Shortly after begging his manager for more drugs, on his knees, quivering in pain from withdrawal, he dies from a car crash. Reporters were following him and happened to see him suddenly swerve into a building, which happened to be where he&#039;s lived in all of his life. No one is really sure if it was a suicide attempt or accidental.!~

Itachi Uchiha is a missing-nin from Konohagakure, and a prominent member of Akatsuki, partnered with Kisame Hoshigaki. Ever since his first appearance, Itachi had always been mysterious, and had acted as though he was hiding his true self. While flashbacks to his past showed that he was a compassionate brother and person, his later acts and claims made it seem that this was mostly just an act.

Paulie is one of the five Dock One foremen, specializing in rigging, knots, and masts. His denim jacket has a flame detail, many of his cigars strapped to it (in a similar fashion to Smoker), and a big "1" printed on its back, most likely referring to Dock 1.
