The youngest executive of Manhattan's Martillo Family Camorra. Firo is surprisingly friendly, humorous and compassionate, but he is a skilled fighter and can be ruthless or even vengeful towards those who bring harm to the people he cares about. He became a complete immortal in November 1930 after accidentally drinking Szilard Quates' immortality elixir. In the same year he falls in love with Ennis, and despite the fact that she initially is unsure of her affection due to her underdeveloped emotional capabilities, they live together as roommates and gradually she reciprocates Firo's feelings.

~!Firo has unconscious issues with femininity due to a childhood incident wherein he was mistaken for a girl and nearly molested. His complex about being called girly suggests a lingering stigma, but this does not mean he dislikes women—on the contrary, he treats them with chivalry, never harming them and considering any man who does so as scum. He is also shy when it comes to romance and refrains from taking the initiative even when his feelings are obvious, as shown with his relationship with Ennis. The class representative of sophomore Class B. He's known in the school for having a bad reputation, as seen when he tricked few students of class F to get the mock test paper. It has also been proven when he destroyed the resources of Class F just to gain advantage but even though Class F were at a disadvantage they still defeated him. He also took Himeji's love letter for Yoshii Akihisa (Yoshii thought it was for Yuuji). The reason why he was defeated was because Tsuchiya Kouta managed to bring Nishimura-sensei with him and defeated him after Yoshii distracted him. In order not to exchange rooms, he was asked to change into a girl's uniform and to go declare a mock-ESB on Class A. He had a girlfriend, the class representative of Class C, Koyama Yuuka. But after Yuuka saw him in a girl's uniform, she broke up with him.

A demoniac hunter that appeared at the race circuit; although he does not attack human beings, he still became one of XAT's prioritized targets and spends the first half of the series as a lone, mysterious figure being hunted by both Amalgams and the police force. He is often seen either talking to Elea or whittling a statue of the Virgin Mary.    Joseph Jobson was an Outsider that had been adopted by a church after his mother died frozen to death in the countryside. He spent his childhood in a tightly-knit community, helping the priest look after the other orphans' needs, tend to their home and helping people in need. After the nearby Jever river overflowed, the church became crowded with homeless citizens and wounded seeking refuge - the agitation eventually driving the old priest (who also was Joseph's paternal figure) to death by exhaustion. It was shortly thereafter that he met Magwald Xargin - then an enthusiastic researcher hoping to distribute medication to the impoverished population. It was through Xargin (and his hospitalization after the church was burned by xenophobic citizens) that Joseph met his elder sister, Alexandra 'Sasha' Jobson. For the next few weeks, Joseph developed a close friendship with Xargin, with whom he shared a deep desire to help those in need. However, the medication they provided to the bereaved population and Outsiders (even going as far as trying to smuggle them out of Xargin and Sasha's university - then led by Victor Statchus) proved ineffective and one night, Sasha was beaten to death by Outsider-hating citizens. It was then, through the letter that she had left behind, that Joseph learned that Sasha's research was primarily focusing on military-oriented cybernetics.    After Xargin rebelled against Victor, Joseph tried to stop his erstwhile friend and was mortally wounded - however, in a last plea, Joseph tried to convince Xargin that life was still worth living. In response, the former scientist infected the teen with nanomachine-infested blood, turning him into an amalgam. The next day, Victor Statchus gave him the GARM motorcycle and entrusted him with tracking down the now renegade Magwald Xargin.    Because he had been given Xargin's blood, Joseph is considered as a good candidate for the role of Blassreiter (the strongest Amalgam ever in existence); however, his extraordinary sense of self-control allows him to retain his sanity, at the cost of remaining weaker than other, more 'open-minded' opponents like Xargin or Beatrice.    Years later, Joseph, now with a trademark scar running across his right eye, appeared at the circuit where Gerd Frentzen was competing in order to intercept a runaway Amalgam. The pursuit ends almost in tragedy and turns Gerd into an Amalgam. The change earns him both Gerd and Hermann's anger and although he only attacks Amalgams, he becomes one of XAT's primary targets (he then becomes known as 'Blue' due to his body color). It was after one of his run-ins with the police forces that he befriends Malek, Amanda's adopted brother, with whom he shares similar experiences of bullying and social isolation. Although Malek eventually becomes an Amalgam to sate his desire for justice, he nevertheless tries to bring the young boy back to his senses, even going as far as taking a bullet intended for him. Both were later captured by XAT and brought in for examination.    Joseph's arrest was short-lived, though, as Elea freed him from the laboratory and allowed him to leave the compound in the middle of an Amalgam breakout. He later meets with Amanda, then (apparently) the only XAT survivor, before the two are taken in by the highly secretive Zw&ouml;lf organization. He is then reunited with the revived Sasha (who now bore white hair and a cybernetic implant in her left eye) and agrees to receiving the Pale Horse physical enhancement program, which will theoretically allow him to develop greater strength at the cost of his own self-control. The experiment later proves successful, turning himself into a berserker-like Blassreiter, with red outlines instead of blue ones.    In his Amalgam form, Joseph can make use of an energy whip, which he can also turn into a narrow-bladed sword. He also uses the GARM motorcycle (masquerading as a Yotsubishi custom model), which he can fuse with once in his Amalgam form.

The dog is almost always around Saya, watching over her though he doesn't like to be petted. The dog has a mysterious kind of air.   ~!It is later revealed that the dog is really Kimihiro Watanuki, the protagonist of xxxHolic, who has taken over the form of a dog temporarily so that he could grant Saya's wish, though it is not initally revealed what the wish is, or who made the wish.!~

Watanuki (a name meaning "April 1" in kanji) is known for having both a volatile and caring personality. Depending upon the person he talks to, his emotions tend to be overly exaggerated. He lives alone because his parents died when he was young, but harder than these conditions is the fact that his everyday life is plagued with strange spirits that only he can see, and they are drawn to him. Apparently this was inherited- it is noted that his blood smells good to spirits.

One average day, while Watanuki is being chased by a legion of spirits, he comes across a strange house which the spirits are repelled by. He feels compelled to enter, and there meets Yuuko, who claims that it is a store which grants wishes in exchange for a price. Watanuki asks for the spirits to stop chasing him, and Yuuko agrees to granting it but only if Watanuki works as a helper in the shop until he accumulates enough time for her to make his wish come true. This is the beginning of Watanuki's part time job. As time goes by, Watanuki meets many different people who help him to develop and change his opinions on the world, and also to understand the world from Yuuko's perspective, which also helps him to mature. 

~!When half way through both the anime and manga he loses the sight in his right eye due to a spider's grudge curse, his left iris turns a dull milky grey color. After failing to retrieve his sight in this eye , he receives half of Doumeki's right eye's sight, which causes his right eye to turn a dark green with a brownish tint (in the Anime), or gold-brown (in the Manga).!~

~!When Yuko disappears and he takes over the shop, his personality takes a drastic change as he adopts a number of Yuko's mannerisms. In the novel, he is described as having tea-colored hair and blue eyes. He was one of the twelve wielders of the Heaven Blades and also held the title of Wolfstein at the age of ten.  He and Leerin were found by Derek during their early childhood and taken to the orphanage in Grendan.  Living in his peaceful village like any ordinary boy, Raki's life is changed forever when most of his family is killed by a Yoma. When the "Claymore" Clare arrives in Raki's town to kill the Yoma, it turns out the Yoma camouflaged itself as Raki's older brother after killing the other family members. After killing the Yoma and saving Raki, Clare leaves the town. However, the superstitious villagers throws Raki out, fearing that he might turn into a Yoma himself after being so close to one. Raki follows Clare, and is eventually allowed to accompany her as her cook.  But the true hardships has not yet begun for Clare and Raki...   ~!He begins learning swordsman ship under Isley of the north to become strong enough to help Clare, and is shown travelling with a regressed, child-like Priscilla. Raki is shown wearing Claymore-like Armour and wielding a massive broadsword. He easily defeats a Yoma pointed out to him by Priscilla and displays remarkable reflexes and speed. It is unknown how powerful he is in relation to Claymores or Awakened Beings, though he is shown wielding a sword somewhat larger than the ones wielded by the Claymores one handed and easily deflected the youma's attack using his forearm armor.  Raki's dialogue reveals that he now knows Priscilla's true nature. Raki also mentions that Priscilla's small frame is probably due to the fact that she has not eaten any human flesh for a few years, although she is probably "at her limit". He says that, should she submit to her hunger, he will attempt to stop her but acknowledges that he will probably fail and be eaten.  Later on he is impaled through the shoulder by an iron rod contaminated with tissue from an awakened being. Though he is the only survivor out of the entire village where it occurred, an infection has started to spread through his body, threatening to change him into a yoma. From sheer willpower, he manages to keep a slight grip on his humanity and keep the infection from spreading.The Claymore organization later takes him back to their headquarters to analyze what is happening to him.!~

Allen is the main hero of the series. He was abandoned by his biological parents because of the supposed "deformity" of his left arm (which was later revealed to be caused by his Innocence). He was eventually found and adopted by a traveling performer named Mana Walker on Christmas Day. Some time later Mana died, and Allen, tormented with grief and manipulated by the Millennium Earl, turned Mana into an Akuma, hoping that his beloved surrogate father would be fully resurrected. But the Mana Akuma cursed Allen and sliced through his left eye, leaving the "Pentacle" — the mark of the Akuma — which scars the left side of his face. This enabled his left eye to see the souls trapped within the Akuma from then on. It was at this same moment that Allen's left arm first invoked as an Anti-Akuma weapon, which instinctively destroyed the Mana Akuma. During the course of this traumatic event, Allen's hair turned from brown into a stark white.  

Allen eventually meets Cross Marian, a General of the Black Order, who explained to Allen the ways of the Akuma and the trapped souls within them: Once a soul becomes trapped inside an Akuma, they are trapped forever; and that the only way to save one is to exorcise them from their Akuma vessel. Allen subsequently became Cross' disciple and spent the next three years with him before being sent to the Black Order to become an official exorcist. During this time, Allen was tormented by his master's constant irresponsible behavior and forced into various odd-jobs to pay off the debts that General Cross accumulated. This, coupled with Marian's womanizing ways and harsh treatment towards Allen, led to Walker fearing more than respecting his master whom he never speaks fondly of. 

~!In fact, when Jasdevi claims that Cross is like a demon, Allen denies this and instead insists that Cross is a real demon. In addition, when Jasdevi reveal that the debts Cross left to them total about 2 million yen, Allen grows demon horns, laughs at them, and calls their debts small change in comparison to his own, leaving Lavi to wonder just how much money Allen's been made to pay.  In addition to being physically fit and skilled at combat (as evident by his ability to fight and dodge Fou without the use of his Innocence), Allen has a few odd talents and skills. Because of the many debts Allen was forced into paying by Cross, he learned to play cards and gamble at a very young age, though his initial purpose was to practice his numb deformed left hand. He also learned how to cheat and win through deception and doesn't hesitate to use these tactics whenever necessary. In fact, he is quite proud of his talents. This is a stark contrast to his polite and courteous nature and often surprises his friends who wouldn't expect such a dark side to Allen and has caused them to wonder just what Cross has done to him. Walker also possesses circus abilities such as juggling and acrobatics, which he learned from traveling with Mana who was himself a circus clown by trade.!~

~!Inspector Levrier and Cross have both referred to a "player" (as in one who plays a musical instrument), and Cross has hinted that there may be more than one.  Allen's synchronization ratio reached a maximum of 83% before having his Innocence destroyed by Tyki. Yet unknown to Allen, the Innocence lingered around as a hazy fog of particles; at the time, a direct reflection of his shattered state of mind. It wasn't until he came to an epiphany that he was able to seize control of his Anti-Akuma weapon once again and achieving his Innocence's true, fully-invoked form. When not activated, his arm is black and meets with his shoulder in a spiraling pattern that ends with tattoo-like emblem. Following this, the Order gave it the official designation of Crowned Clown (神ノ道化（クラウン・クラウン）, Kuraun Kuraun), due to its jester-like appearance when invoked. The kanji used in the name literally translates to God's Clown (神ノ道化, Kami no Douke). !~

~!When invoked, Crowned Clown acts as a body-armored Innocence, forming a white-hooded cowl and sleeve of Innocence energy which covers his shoulders and right arm, while his left arm and hand become slender and black, clad in armor and razor sharp claws. A masquerade-style mask is always affixed to the cowl, which takes on various configurations and appearances. This transformation also changes Allen's usual hairstyle from flat to a spiky rear. As before, his Innocence possesses a certain degree of sentience, but as Crowned Crown is able to manipulate Allen's entire body like a marionette when incapacitated, or simply assisting in evasive tactics.!~

The story's main antagonist. Also known as "the Earl of Millennium". He tricks people with dead relatives and friends into creating Demons (Akuma). He is a sorcerer from long ago, and he plans to lead the world to its destruction. Some time in the past he formed an alliance with the Noah Clan, who call him "Duke Millennium"(Except Road who calls him Millenie). Hoshino says she based the Earl of Millennium off a legendary alchemist/preacher (most likely the Count of St Germain or Nicolas Flamel, though in many ways he also reminiscent of Dorian Gray, possibly referenced in "Dorian Grey man" and thus "D.Gray-Man", as adapted in the film The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen) whose tale even claims he still may be alive somewhere.  In appearance, the Earl resembles a grotesque caricature of a Victorian gentleman -- a rotund figure in cape and top hat, with an enormous grin that remains fixed even when he is speaking and even eating, and his eyes permanently hidden behind a pair of pince-nez spectacles. In the manga, almost every one of his lines of dialog ends with a heart.In the anime, he invariably uses polite Japanese. Throughout the story, he displays two different personalities. The first is his normal cheerful, friendly, and happy attitude, almost like a friendly old uncle. With the Noah, he's a member of the family, and is particularly playful and affectionate towards Road. His other personality is one of sheer, sadistic malice, capable of happily playing with people's lives.  He wears a different hat in each encounter, each with a different decoration. In a gag comic in Volume 2 of the manga, he is shown taking off his hat, and having another set of ears. His main form of combat involves his umbrella Relo. He has also shown the ability to create massive explosions of dark energy. The Earl is also able to summon a large black sword that is the opposite of Allen's Crown Clown sword.

Kouno is a police offer. He doesn't usually eat fast food saying it can kill a person.

Kazuki was Jin's best friend from before the accident. The two had promised to go into space together, resulting in their admission into the astronaut training program, but the shuttle accident caused Jin to leave the program. Kazuki now works for the ISDA as part of the Dragonauts after his successful Resonance with Gio.



The protagonist of the series, Jil is a young adventurer who dreams of reaching the top of the Tower of Druaga. He is strong willed, determined and as seen in the first episode has deep fantasies about being a revered champion. He is a defensive class: Guardian and initially uses a shield with a protractable spike in one hand and any make-shift weapon he could find in the other (usually a stick). Along with his original shield, he later uses a sword given to him by King Gilgamesh.    Despite being an inexperienced Climber, Jil is a decent fighter and after joining Kaaya and Ahmey's party, he does his best to support the group in combat. Jil also seems to resemble a young Gilgamesh as seen in Gilgamesh's flashback in episode 3. In the same flashback Gilgamesh was called Gil, a variant name of Jil.

Natsu has a carefree and reckless nature and, despite his constant brawls with the other members of the guild, is a fiercely loyal and protective friend. He has a particularly close and competitive relationship with Gray Fullbuster and Erza Scarlet. With the former, he has had a constant rivalry from a young age and although they often denounce each other as not being friends, they regularly watch each others' back even when they are enraged with one another. He has had the same sort of relationship with Erza - the two both being scared of her since a young age - and they seemed to have a fairly good relationship in the past as, according to Erza, they used to shower together. He befriends people rather quickly too, considering Lucy a friend and willing to team up with her only after a few days of knowing her.

Igneel, a dragon, found him in the forest and ended up taking care of him. He taught Natsu how to speak, read, and use magic. But one day Igneel disappeared without a trace. Because of this, Natsu's goal in life is to find him.

Due to his father, the Emperor's, declining health, Ling left his country to find the Philosopher's Stone to stabilize Xing, as well as grant him the key to immortality. Although he is the 12th son of the Emperor, Ling hopes the Philosopher's Stone will help him rise in the order of succession and achieve the throne thereby securing his clan's welfare. Though he is often laid back and hungry, he's very noble and will do whatever it takes to help his clan. He is also a skilled fighter and has had many incidents involving assassination attempts at his life. He has formed a strong rivalry with Ed, by doing things such as use Ed's money to annoy him.   ~!After the 1st Greed is punished by Father, he gives Ling the secret to immortality by transforming him into the succeeding Greed. Ed tries to help, but Ling denies his help as it is the only way to help his clan in the land of Xing. Even while his body is taken over by Greed his mind and soul are kept intact and can come to the surface. The protagonist, an ordinary high school student who has had the ability to see ghosts ever since he was a kid. Because of this, he always felt different, but things changed after meeting Kagura. He started practicing kendo from a young age, being the son of a kendo instructor, and utilizes his skills during missions. When fighting, he sometimes dons a pair of sunglasses. The storyline concerns his growth as a spirit-user, his main weapon being swords. He initially wields &quot;Michael #12,&quot; but after breaking it in a battle, is given the sword &quot;Michael Revolution&quot; in its place. He supports Kagura during her emotional lows, and a bond develops between them.  Kensuke has the same sesshōseki that transformed Yomi into an evil spirit, embedded near his heart. According to Yomi, the sesshōseki itself wished to be placed there. The stone gifts him with memories, as well as allowing his sword techniques to become radically more powerful. This stone was later removed when Imawano Setsuna forcefully tore it from his body in the Garden of Tamamo, fatally damaging his body in the process. He survived after Kagura defeated Setsuna and revived the Kyuubi, using its powers to restore his body from the brink of death. After firming his resolve to save Kagura from being controlled by the Kyuubi, he unleashes the true power of the Michael Revolution, the ability to cut through dimensions.  Kagura mentions that Kensuke has a unique presence which puts spirits at ease and even Byakuei feels more secure when Kensuke is near. Shibuya Kazuya is the president of SPR. He is sharp and extremely intelligent, but very much a narcissist...so he has been nicknamed by Mai "Naru" (Short for narcissist). Contrary to the other characters, he does not appear to possess any kind of spiritual power, and must count on his companions' abilities and his own intellect and knowledge to solve the cases they investigate. Though appearing cold and critical in front of his friends, he does care for them deeply and has earned their trust and respect. He and Mai apparently share a close relationship as she is the only girl he addresses by given name, unlike  Masako, who becomes jealous of Mai as a result.

The beloved and favorite grandson of the once great Roman Empire, North Italy, better known as just “Italy,” can be described as nonetheless, a failure in following in his grandpa’s footsteps and a complete crybaby. He is often called “Veneziano” because he represents the northern half of the country. 

Considered the official main protagonist of the series, Italy has interacted with a good portion of the cast and is known to be friendly with most of them.  He’s rather absent-minded, is always spacing out, and irresponsible, but ever so cheery, kind, and big-hearted, making him prone to crying, whining, and getting offended or picked on at times. Another trait that he seems to possess is his habit of being overly affectionate, going so far as to be quite the “touch-feely” type of person, hugging and kissing people upon greeting and even far into the conversation. Despite his flaws, most of the other nations are usually tolerant of him. His hobbies include art, drawing, designing, singing, siestas, flirting with girls, remodeling German cars, and cooking.
