In .hack//Roots, Haseo is a newbie player to the Online game known as The World. He is an outcast in real life, and not very good at dealing with people. Upon logging into The World R:2, Haseo is attacked by PKs, (Player Killers), and rescued by Ovan, the Guild master of the Twilight Brigade. Haseo then joins the Twilight Brigade in order to learn more about Ovan. Eventually, after Ovan disappears for an extended period of time, the Twilight Brigade is disbanded and Shino is PKed by Tri-Edge. Obsessed with saving Shino, Haseo continually seeks power, culminating in his journey into the Forest of Pain, a new Lost Ground, where, after confronting another AI Harald, his PC body was transformed.    

At that point level 133 and equipped with an arsenal of incredibly powerful weapons, Haseo became the Terror of Death, a PKK, or Player Killer Killer, who hunted down Player Killers. Upon finding them, he demanded information on Tri-Edge; if they failed to give any useful information, which was usual, he killed them. The name Terror of Death was the title given to him by players, as he truly cared nothing for any other player except for Shino.    

Around this time, Ovan returns and informs Haseo that Tri-Edge will reappear shortly at the Hidden Forbidden Holy Ground. Haseo attempts to defeat Tri-Edge, but is Data-Drained, returning some time later as a level 1 character with no items or contact info.

A mysterious wandering man with a vast knowledge of the supernatural and is mystical in appearance. He carries around a large wooden box filled with medicine and holy tools. Among them is an enchanted sword that is used to slay the mononoke. To use the sword, the Medicine Seller must find the "Katachi" (shape), "Makoto" (truth), and "Kotowari" (reasoning) of the mononoke he wishes to exorcise. Once the sword has been unsheathed, he transforms into a demon-like creature.

While his origins are unknown, it is clear that the Medicine Seller is not human or at least not entirely human; he has elf-like ears, and pointy canine teeth. Tokio is a stereotypical teenage boy, who plays video games and is addicted to fast food. He is greatly concerned with Juna's safety, and tries to protect her, not realizing he is powerless against the force she is trying to fight. He considers himself in love with her, but has a distorted view of what love is. Despite never having even kissed his supposed girlfriend, he attempts to both propose to her, and later have sex with her, neither successfully. Though he sees what Juna is doing, he understands her purpose even less than she does, and is quick to criticize her actions as needlessly obsessive. Dende is a Namekian who takes the role of the Earth's god after Kami fuses with Piccolo. He is first introduced in the Namek Saga when Son Gohan and Kuririn save him from Dodoria. He gets his power unlocked by their elder, giving him the power to heal. He aids the warriors during the fight with Freeza until he is killed by the tyrant. After being revived by Shenlong, he lives on New Namek until Son Goku can teleport there during the Cell Saga to ask a Namekian to become the new God of Earth and revive the Dragon Balls. A mentally unstable pyromaniac with a bizarre and shocking past, Dilandau is the tactically ineffective commander of the Zaibach empire's elite Dragonslayer's unit. Diandau takes no prisoners, and burns towns to the ground with little provocation. After being wounded in a sword-duel with Van Fanel, Dilandau becomes fixated upon him, and places vengeance over all other objectives (with as much fire and collateral damage as possible, of course).   ~!It's revealed later in the series that Dilandau is the result of Zaibach's experimentation on Allen Schezar's sister, Celena. When Celena was abducted by Zaibach, they used her to test their "fate altering machine", which changed her fate to become Dilandau. After having a mental breakdown, the fate tampering on Dilandau's body begins to come undone, and he's sent back to Zaibach to be fixed. After Allen discovers the truth about Dilandau, he's able to convince Dliandau to stop resisting his true fate as Allen's sister, and he permanently becomes Celena.!~

Another member of F4, Sojiroh is quiet and very interested in the tea ceremony, which is his family's business. For the most part, he and Mimasaka usually work to keep the peace within the group and following Domyoji. In season two, he reunites with his first love, whom he had believed had only loved his brother. Later he learns that she had truly loved him, but the relationship is unsalvageable (in the manga they both recognize that they missed their one chance to be together, and in the drama she has become engaged to someone else). Hiten is a Thunder Demon and the older brother of Manten. While Manten looks like a monster, Hiten appears to be a handsome human. The reason Hiten looks human and Manten looks like some kind of shark-man is that their parents were two different types of demons. Hiten looks like their father and Manten looks like their mother. While he may be the better looking of the two, he's also the more psychotically violent as well.

Genetic type: Natural  The fanatical leader of the secret society Blue Cosmos, which seeks to exterminate all Coordinators. Azrael is also the president of a major weapons manufacturing conglomerate and a director of the Defense Industry Association, and as a result he has great influence over the leadership of the Earth Alliance. After he convinces the Alliance to attack the neutral Orb Union, Azrael then accompanies the invasion force to supervise the operation and observe his newest weapons in action.

An elementary school boy who is sort of the 'leader' of the group. He has a good heart, and he truly cares for his friends and the monsters. His goal is to turn all of the evil monsters into good monsters again. Determined, optimistic, and hopeful, Genki is a real go-getter. Genki also directly fights enemy monsters by donning his rollerblades in combat. He is also surprisingly strong for a 10-year old, although whether this is due to his own innate strength or because he is in the game world (thereby having been subjected to some game mechanic) is not known.

Appearing much older than he really is, Airs Blue is the leader of Team Blue, and at one point, ~!Captain of the Ryvius.!~

Skilled in martial arts himself, Blue intentionally puts himself in danger so as to feel alive. He was suppressing his violent side when on the Liebe Delta, but the Ryvius is a whole new environment and Blue sees the opportunity to unleash his natural aggression and take over the ship.
~!The fact he owns the only firearm on the Ryvius, a needle-shooting pistol stolen from one of the saboteurs of the Liebe Delta, assists his coup significantly.!~

The leader and bassist of Trapnest. He is handsome and has a reputation of being a playboy. Despite his raw sexual charisma, Takumi can also be a cold and controlling workaholic. His favorite brand of cigarettes is Gitanes.    ~!Coming from a family with an alcoholic and bitter father, he and his older sister learned to be independent at a young age due to their mother being bed-ridden with illness in the hospital. He looked after Layla since they were children and always harbored a brother-like care for her. He ends up dating and sleeping with Hachi, which dubiously resulted in Hachi's pregnancy. For some reason, perhaps because of his family background or because he is starting to become possessive, he refuses to leave Hachi and the unborn child despite Hachi's uncertainty whether it is his or Nobu's. In a previous chapter, Naoki said something to Yasu about Takumi not letting the woman he is infatuated with run away that easily; and Ren saying that Takumi hates getting into such mess, which hints that Takumi took responsibility not just only because of sheer sense of responsibility but he is starting to care for her. But although he loves Hachi and is "infatuated" with her, Takumi still keeps his playboy habits, cheating on her first with a soap-opera actress and later on with Reira, who has openly declared her desire to become his lover.  In the end, Takumi is one of the most confusing characters in this manga. Like what Hachiko once said, with Takumi, it is hard to tell whether it is love or business.!~

Rockman is Netto&#039;s Net Navi, and devoted friend. He&#039;s basically the &quot;good guy&quot; of the series, as he foils the World 3&#039;s plans continuously. Rockman has a default weapon used in battle known as his &quot;Rock Buster&quot;, in which he does not need a battle chip from Netto to use. As the episodes of the series progress, Rockman himself often becomes to prime target of the World 3&#039;s evil operators and Navis.     As the series progress, Rockman begins to acquire a vast amount of various style changes. Beginning in Season 2 and all the way into Beast, these range from simple elemental changes, to soul unisons with other navis, and finally to ravenous &quot;beast-out&quot; transformations.    Despite all their troubles with Dr. Wily or some other evil, Rockman and Netto always remain the most dedicated of friends. Rockman is a good balance to Netto&#039;s irresponsible behavior.      ~!In the games and in the manga, the real identity of Rockman.EXE is Saito Hikari, the deceased twin brother of Netto. His father used his DNA to create a unique Net Navi.!~

Seiran is later revealed to be the previously exiled second elder brother of Ryuki, Seien, whom was the only one to ever treat Ryuki nicely. He was known as the &quot;flower&quot; of the royal princes due to his handsome looks, kind heart, and also his physical and intellectual superiority over his brothers. Because of this, his brothers grew jealous, and after his mother, who hated his existence, and grandfather conspired to make him Emperor, he, along with his mother, was exiled. The other royal families sent assassins to kill him, and though he did away with them, his mother was killed in the process. Sometime later, he is brought into the Satsujinzoku, a murderous band of thieves in Sa Province (Brown Province) where he was nicknamed &quot;The Little Whirlwind&quot;. Ensei Ro joined the group as well, and the two destroyed the band themselves. After leaving Sa, the Hong Family comes across him and takes him in, with Shokun giving him the name &#039;Seiran&#039;, meaning &#039;Silent Orchid&#039;, as well as him receiving the surname, &#039;Shi&#039; (pronounced the same as the Emperor&#039;s family name, but has different kanji). He decided to wholly devote himself into being &#039;Seiran&#039;, and does not let anyone get near his past, though some characters throughout the series discovers his true identity. Chiaki is one of Makoto&#039;s good friends that joins her and Kousuke in games of baseball after school.     ~!When Makoto attempts to stop Kousuke and his girlfriend from getting hit by a train, she encounters Chiaki, who has turned back time to prevent the accident. This reveals that Chiaki can leap through time as well. Chiaki tells Makoto that in the alternate future, Kousuke and his girlfriend were both killed in the accident. Chiaki then explains that he is from the future, and people in the future can leap through time.    Chiaki reveals that the reason Makoto can leap through time is because of the events that took place in the science lab; Makoto was startled by the mysterious figure (who is revealed to be Chiaki) which caused her to trip and fall onto the device that charged time-leaping abilities in his time.     Chiaki explains that the reason he came to the past was to see a certain painting, which happens to be the same painting Makoto&#039;s aunt has not yet finished restoring; this painting has been destroyed in the future. He laments that he will never get to see it because he used up his time-leaping abilities to save Kousuke, so not only can he not leap to the painting, he can&#039;t return home either. When Makoto asks him to wait until the painting is restored, he tells her that because he told her about his time-leaping abilities, he will disappear the next day.!~

Unfortunately for him, he loses to them and is forced to report back to Gladius with a fail. For failing his mission, he is eliminated along with Cocowet.

Yuuichi Jin is an S-Class member and also a member of Tamakoma Branch, he is one of the strongest members in the Border. He also has a black trigger named Fuujin. Jin's Side Effect is Foresight making him predict future events, his mentor Soichi Mogami lost his life making Jin's Fujin. 

With the help of engineers Jin was able to create a new type of trigger "Scorpion" which now many agents use.

Xhaka is a recurring character who appears in the anime and manga series, Beyblade Burst. Prince of Fanelia, pilot of Escaflowne, Van Fanel suddenly appears on Earth one day, fighting a Dragon. His life narrowly saved by Hitomi, a schoolgirl caught up in the battle, Van returns to his kingdom only for it to be torched to the ground a few days later. Van vows revenge on the perpetrators - the Zaibach Empire - even when he finds that Folken, his supposedly dead elder-brother, is working for them. With Hitomi's help, Van embarks on a journey of revenge against those that destroyed his home.    ~!He also slowly falls in love with Hitomi, though his love isn't immediately and entirely reciprocated.Van Fanel is the young half-Draconian king of Fanelia who must learn to cope with drastic changes in his life after Fanelia is destroyed by Zaibach. He pilots Escaflowne, a Guymelef made by the mysterious Ispano tribe which can transform into a flying dragon. He earns his right to pilot Escaflowne through a blood pact which connects his body and soul to Escaflowne. Due to the blood pact and Hitomi's influence, Van becomes injured when the Escaflowne is damaged, and these wounds will not close until Escaflowne is repaired. Consequently, if Escaflowne is destroyed, Van will die.  His destiny and Hitomi's are linked, and he is initially dependent on Hitomi's clairvoyant abilities, which save his life more than once. He also holds a grudge against Folken for leaving his native kingdom of Fanelia for Zaibach and Dornkirk for his grand ambitions. Due to being half-Draconian, Van is able to manifest a pair of feathered wings which enable him to fly!~ 

Kento Rei Faun, is a member of the Ronin Warriors and arguably has the greatest physical strength of the entire group, shown to perform feats like stopping speeding trucks, without using his armor. Like Ryo, he has a short temper and is quick to anger when provoked, but he also has the biggest heart, and is a loyal friend when push comes to shove. His armor of Hardrock is said to be the most violent of the armors.    Kento has the largest family of the Ronins, and is the oldest of five siblings. He has two sisters, Rinfi and Chun Fa, and two brothers, Mei Ryu and Yun. Kento&#039;s parents (Chan Run and unnamed mother) own a successful restaurant business in Yokohama; as a result, the family is quite wealthy, although Kento doesn&#039;t consider being rich a big deal. Kento is best friends with Cye; he and Cye are shown rooming together while staying at Mia&#039;s house, and they go surfing together in Kikoutei Densetsu.    Kento&#039;s armor is Hardrock, and his Virtue is Gi (Justice). His weapon is a combination of a three-section staff and a naginata and he sometimes wields the sanketsukon like a pair of nunchakus in close combat. The armor&#039;s surekill is Iron Rock Crusher (called Gan Tessai in YST) which causes a massive earthquake-like disruption in the Earth around him.
