He claims that anyone not holding the flute will get killed when his dogs are in berserk mode. However, at one point, Gōta used this to his advantage and took Inukai&#039;s flute, resulting in Inukai nearly getting killed by his own dogs. He can also imitate a dog&#039;s bark. Nishimori Hariyama, AKA Dirty Harry, is your typical &#039;bad cop.&#039;  He takes pride in illegally modifying police equipment to be more effective, so to speak, and seems to enjoy the use of excessive force in dispensing justice.  When Hariyama is on the job, collateral damage is not a concern.  Lawbreakers and criminals beware!

Age 22. Rookie editor at Weekly JIDAI.  Kunio is a man who feels that one's life shouldn't be wasted completely on working. He gets his job done but, unlike Hiroko, he doesn't feel that one should devote their whole life to just work. While there are several people who clash with Hiroko throughout the series, Kunio is probably one of those that repeats the most, if only for their complete difference in work ethic.

He is Hazumu's father, who loves taking pictures of Hazumu. This often consists of him trying to get Hazumu in provocative poses and expressions which leads his wife to wrestle him down to the ground. Additionally, he repeatedly attempts to take a bath with his daughter but is always stopped.

The leader of the Insect Group of the Maniwani. His name literally means &quot;praying mantis,&quot; and he models his clothing after one accordingly. He is sent to kidnap Nanami.

The captain of the Umisho swimming team. He's a muscle-bound third year student who's known for his unhealthy obsession with shaving his (and others') body parts. He can be seen at both practice and tournaments in speedos, spouting enthusiastic nonsense and being generally oblivious.

Introduced in season 2, he is initially asked to teach Goro a lesson by Kaido's recruiter for rejecting Kaido during a middle school game between Kaido Unified, and East Mifune. This beating makes him the instant rival of Goro, even though he admires him for his confidence and straight forward attitude. His personality is very direct and to the point, often times coming off as cold. He appears to be in complete control of his emotions at all times, including when facing established and more experienced players. His pre-game ritual of sitting in a bathroom stall while listening to music is seen by others as getting him in the right frame of mind to pitch, but in actuality he does it because he is anxious and helps him focus his anxiety. His goals are to achieve all possible individual achievements in Japanese Baseball before moving onto the Majors. 

Like his fellow members of the Swimming Club, Tanegashima and Mogana Kikaijima, Yakushima is obsessed with money, and is willing to go so far as to risk his own life to get a hold of it. Kikaijima claims this attitude originated after his family split up because they didn't have money. Like his fellow teammates, his dream is to fill an entire pool with money, and spend a whole day swimming in it. Nekomi Nabeshima labels him as the type who never reveals what he is thinking, nor what he wants to do. Though he considers money more important than his friends, he likes his friends more than money.
