Kaoru is an androgynous beauty. She's one year older than Nanako, but she's in the same class as her because a mysterious disease prevented her from attending school for a year. Kaoru is a real leader, in fact, besides being the "class-leader", she's also the captain of the school basketball team. She has a noble and generous heart, and can't bear any form of injustice or abuse of power.

Hitomi is the main protagonist of the series. Second daughter of Michael Heinz, Hitomi is usually the one who actually commits the heists, and is hence uniquely referred to as the Cat's Eye. Like Rui, she is an accomplished athlete and well versed in a number of disciplines and skills ranging from horseback riding to safe cracking. She is a skilled gymnast and is able to perform complex acrobatic moves with ease and grace. She is able to escape most restraints and handcuffs with minimal effort, and it is inferred that she is ambidextrous as well as double jointed. She is a skilled martial artist with proficiency in a number of disciplines, most notably judo, boxing and karate, and also has degrees in kendo and aikido.

Like Rui, Hitomi is also able to disguise her appearance effortlessly and can speak several other languages.


Kitarou is a youkai boy born in a cemetery, and aside from his mostly-decayed father, the last living member of the Ghost tribe. He is missing his left eye, but his hair usually covers the empty socket. He fights for peace between humans and youkai, which generally involves protecting the former from the wiles of the latter.

Tsukikage was an actress who was the best "Crimson Goddess" you ever wanted to see. After a light accident, She was unable to act, leaving that role unable to play also, thus it left the play that character was in on a very long hiatus. Moving on to being an acting teacher, she still never have gotten an apprentice to play the Crimson Goddess. When she met Maya, she was the one that convinced her to be an actress, more importantly, put her in her school of acting.

A mysterious woman who will join Wataru in his journey, a woman who seems to know quite a lot about the fate that has befallen human civilization.

Hitomi's elegant and fashionable older sister, Rui is the leader of the “Cat's Eye” group and the one who usually outlines and plans the heists. With model good looks, worldly sophistication, and a razor sharp intelligence she is able to handle almost any situation. She is extremely athletic and proficient in a great number of activities and skills including car racing, hang gliding, parachuting, helicopter piloting, motorcycle riding, roller skating, skateboarding, martial arts, electronics, handguns and scuba diving. She is a skilled actress and is able to disguise her appearance effortlessly. She is also fluent in a number of languages including English, French and German.

Rui acts as the mother figure for her sisters and is very protective of them. She is the only sister who has any lasting memory of their parents.

Proprietress of a small bakery in Koriko, Kiki's new town. She is heavily pregnant throughout the film and can be seen feeding her baby in the end credits. She is the first person in Koriko to treat Kiki with kindness and respect. She also acts like a mother to Kiki. It is under Osono that Kiki works as a messenger.

The main character of this anime or picture book, whose head is a bun made by Uncle Jam. His name comes from the fact that he is a super hero with a head made of bread (Japanese: pan, a loanword from the Portuguese word meaning "bread") that is filled with Red bean paste (Japanese: an) called an anpan. He doesn't need to eat or drink to sustain himself and has never been seen eating. It is believed the bean jam in his head gives him sustenance. His weakness is water or anything that makes his head dirty. He regains his health and strength when Jam Ojisan bakes him a new head and it is placed on his shoulders. Yukinari Ookido is a Pokémon Professor and a major supporting character of the Pocket Monsters anime who lives and works at his research lab in Masara Town. He appears semi-regularly to give Satoshi advice to help him achieve his goal of becoming the greatest Pokémon Master.
