Tetsu is one of Kumiko&#039;s lackeys. He is a member of the Yakuza group, and is very devoted and protective of her. He and Minoru always keep an eye on Kumiko and do their best to help her when they can. Doctor Kureha is the sole remaining doctor on Drum Island. Because of her eccentric treatment of patients (whom she will readily injure if they do not follow her orders) she also displays abnormal fighting abilities and strength (punching through a brick wall several meters thick), along with her reclusive nature, she is often called a "witch." However, she is a legitimate practitioner of medicine, and has kept herself healthy and fit at nearly 140 years old.

Nyarth is a member of Rocket-dan (Team Rocket), more specifically part of a trio with Musashi and Kojirou, that follows Satoshi and his friends around in the Pokémon anime, usually trying to steal Satoshi's Pikachu. His major difference from other Nyarth, and nearly all other Pokémon, is that he can talk and walk on two legs like a human.

Shiba is a member of the Kanto Elite Four. He raises Fighting-type Pokémon, living with them and training with them. He joined the Elite Four out of a desire to challenge the best Trainers. Although he trains Fighting Pokémon, he also commonly uses Iwark and its evolved form. 

Shiba regularly visits the Sevii Islands. He and his Pokémon use the spa on One Island, and he visits Two Island to buy RageCandyBars. Shiba once used to train with Touki, a Fighting-type Gym Leader from Hoenn.

Matis is the Gym Leader of Kuchiba City's Gym, known officially as the Kuchiba Gym. He hands out the Thunder Badge to Trainers who defeat him. He specializes in Electric-type Pokémon.

An intimidating person, Matis surrounds himself with other tough-looking Trainers. He is arrogant, loud, and crude; and refers to all challengers as "babies" until they manage to defeat him. Matis generally looks down on unevolved Pokémon, preferring to evolve them as soon as possible. He also seems to be an extremely brutal battler, as nearly every Trainer that faced him ended up with their Pokémon being seriously injured.

A.J. (Japanese: アキラ Akira) is a Pok&eacute;mon Trainer in his mid-teens who lives between Cerulean City and Vermilion City. Other trainers refer to him as a &quot;Wild Pok&eacute;mon Trainer&quot;, although what this is meant to imply is never made clear. His dream is to become a Pok&eacute;mon Master with the help of his favorite Pok&eacute;mon, Sandshrew. He had a gym, but it was an unofficial gym not sponsored by the Pok&eacute;mon League and did not have a related badge.

Anoki is a character of the day who appeared in *Fighting Pokémon! The Great Battle!*. He operates the Fighting Spirit Gym, an elite facility for Fighting-type Pokémon.

Anoki was training his Ebiwalar to compete in the upcoming P1 Grand Prix. He was so determined to train and win, that he was neglecting his family. His daughter Manami's feelings convinced Satoshi and Takeshi to compete in the P1 Grand Prix to defeat him.

Masaki Sonezaki is a Pokémon researcher, widely regarded as an expert in many fields. He has made many appearances in the games. Bill is most commonly found in his Sea Cottage, which is north of Cerulean City at the end of Route 25. He is most notable for his first appearance in the Generation I games and for his Pokémon Storage System that has been pertinent in the entire main series.

While on his way to the Indigo Plateau, Ash was stopped by Otoshi, who challenged him to a battle, but with a twist: whoever lost had to give up their badges to the winner. Ash, confident he would win, accepted the challenge. Otoshi&#039;s Marowak successfully defeated Ash&#039;s Bulbasaur, but it lost to Pikachu.    Otoshi then admitted that he had no badges to give to Ash. Ash thought that Otoshi was a cheater, but then he told the story of how his badges were stolen by somebody who he didn&#039;t know. He claimed a talking Meowth did it. Ash and his pals knew Jessie, James and Meowth of Team Rocket were the ones who robbed Otoshi. Feeling sorry for him, Ash and the others decided to help Otoshi retrieve his badges from Team Rocket.    In the meantime, Marowak ran away from Otoshi, saying that if Otoshi were a more responsible Trainer, he would never have lost the badges. Otoshi was saddened, but continued to look for his badges.    After Ash, Misty, Brock and Otoshi confronted Team Rocket, Otoshi challenged Jessie for the badges. She told Otoshi that if he defeated her, she would give his badges back. Using his Doduo, he tried to defeat Jessie&#039;s Arbok, but the two heads ended up fighting with each other. Jessie was about to capture the Doduo, when Marowak returned to Otoshi and helped him defeat Jessie.    Otoshi, now reunited with both Marowak and his badges, continued to the Indigo Plateau to compete in the Pok&eacute;mon League.

Daisuke is a young boy who likes strong Pokémon. He was the original owner of Ash's Charmander.

Sabrina's father (Japanese: ナツメ 父親 Natsume's father) is a character who appeared in two episodes of the Pokémon anime. He is voiced by 秋元羊介 Yōsuke Akimoto in Japanese and Maddie Blaustein in English. Due to the fact that he was never given a name, this page will simply refer to him as Sabrina's father.   He first appeared in Abra and the Psychic Showdown. He recommended that Ash should not battle Sabrina, the Saffron City Gym Leader. After Ash was defeated by her, her father returned and told Ash the only way to defeat Sabrina is by using a Ghost-type Pokémon.   He returned in Haunter versus Kadabra to save Ash from being turned into a doll by Sabrina. Her father told Ash that Sabrina was not always as mysterious and manipulating as she is now. Ash returned to the gym, and using his Haunter, he was able to earn his Marsh Badge by making Sabrina laugh again and therefore became herself again like she had in the past.   Although it is revealed that the man is Sabrina's father, Ash never figured out their relation. He believed that the man knew so much about Sabrina because he was her photographer, while in the Japanese version Ash believed that he is a neighbor of Sabrina's.   He is also shown to be capable of teleporting without the use of a known Pokémon, as well as being able to teleport others with him. Watt  is the assistant to Wattson. His name comes from &quot;watt&quot;, which is a measure of electrical energy.    He has appeared in two episodes of the anime. His first appearance was in Watt&#039;s with Wattson?. He more or less stood aside and let Wattson do everything, although he did serve as the referee in Ash&#039;s gym battle for the Dynamo Badge.    When Ash and the others returned in Manectric Charge, Watt was featured much more prominently. He battled May and her Skitty with his Ampharos. Skitty proved to be stronger and defeated Watt&#039;s Electric-type. Watt was also the one to inform May about the Pok&eacute;mon Contest in Verdanturf Town. 

Before meeting Valgarv, Jillas' people were nearly hunted to extinction. After being injured by humans and losing his right eye, Valgarv saved him and took Jillas' life into his hands. He was than partnered with Gravos Maunttop, who was also saved by Valgarv. The two became close and Jillas frequently referred to him as &quot;Boss&quot;.    During the incident with Dark Star Dugradigdu, Valgarv, who had made an alliance with the overworlder Armace, ordered Gravos and Jillas to recover the five Dark Star weapons and bring them back to him. However, things became worse for Jillas when Gravos was assumed to be dead after losing control of Ragudo Mezegis and being blasted away by a Dragon Slave. Jillas swore vengence on the Slayers and eventually stole Gorun Nova from them by the use of psychological warfare.    Later, after everyone got separated and Valgarv was presumed dead, Jillas was rescued a fox named Elena and her son Palou, who called him &quot;uncle&quot;. When Jillas discovered that the Slayers were still alive, he abandoned them and tried to get his vengeance again. When trying to kill the Slayers, Filia Ul Copt saved his life from getting caught in an explosion with one of his bombs. He was very grateful and referred to her from that point on as &quot;Boss&quot; as well, a name that Filia was not comfortable with.    After the final battle with Dugradigdu, it was revealed that Valgarv had been reborn as a pure ancient dragon and was adopted by Filia. Jillas, along with Gravos (who had only been literally launched into orbit by the Dragon Slave) became her partners and are helping her sell maces and pottery in a shop.    While Jillas is not skilled in magic or swordplay, he can still be a formidable opponent thanks to his experience with guns, gunpowder and other explosives. He also has a knack of exploiting the existing frictions within an enemy group to his advantage, managing to turn the Slayers against each other on one occasion. 

Sugoroku Mutou is the grandfather of Yugi Mutou, who gave him his famous Millennium Puzzle as a present, which he had recovered from the tomb of the Pharaoh Atem in his youth. He owns the Kame Game shop, where Yugi and his friends get several of the games they play, and he taught Katsuya Jonouchi how to play the Duel Monsters card game. His fondness for games is even evident in his name: &quot;Sugoroku&quot; is a Japanese game similar to Backgammon.

Sartorius, known in Japan as Takuma Saiou 「斎王琢磨, Saiō Takuma」, serves as the main antagonist during the second season. A fortune-teller with dual personalities under the influence of an alien force, he's poised to remake the world in the image most befitting the extraterrestrial radiance within him.    His name is meant to be a pun in English, as &quot;satori&quot; denotes a &quot;spiritual awakening&quot;. 

The former teacher of Tsukiji. He now is training Zen to become a master chef. His appearance is that of a small man on a saucer, reverted that way thanks to Don Cook a former student. He is also Grub Guru and former King of all food.

One of the few non-Cappies living in Cappy Town. Kawasaki runs the only restaurant in town, which is the only reason he gets any business. He studied under the famous Chef Shiitake, but he just never got it. All his dishes are either bland (at best) or terrible (at worst), but he keeps trying, hoping to eventually impress even his teacher.

Gar-chae is a Gardie that was owned by a younger Kojirou and his first Pokémon. Eventually, Kojirou ran away from home, leaving behind his beloved Gardie.

Cotoise is a tortoise-like, quadrupedal Pokémon. It has a large, black, rock-like shell with holes that glow with a red warmth. Its skin is reddish-brown with gray-black bands on its legs and neck. It has a long neck and its eyes seem permanently closed. Cotoise lives in mountains and volcanic areas, where it looks for large deposits of coal. It uses the coal to fill the hollow spaces in its shell and then burns it for energy. 

Because coal is Cotoise's source of energy, it becomes immobile once it runs out of coal to burn. If the fire inside of Cotoise's shell goes out, it will die. A Cotoise is healthy if the smoke spouting from its shell has tremendous velocity. When it blows out smoke from its nostrils and the top of its back, it sounds like a locomotive horn. It blows black smoke out of its nostrils before fleeing and while being attacked.

Dorio is a character of the week from ep 33.
Dorio was an arrogant and rude Trainer who went to great lengths to win the Big P Pokémon Race. He resorted to cheating, and hired Team Rocket to stage a stampede that resulted in his rival competitor [Fuko Laramie](https://anilist.co/character/33669/Fuko-Laramie) breaking her arm. While she could not compete, Satoshi entered in her place, riding her Ponyta.
