Perhaps one of the most noble and tragic characters  Once known as the boy Jinnosuke, he is perhaps the only friend Afro Samurai has ever known. Once a charismatic and young sub-leader of a secret sword school, fate destines that Jinnosuke get horribly disfigured and trapped into the powerful and twisted mechanical teddy bear helmet which earns him the name Kuma(which means "bear" in Japanese). Taichi Yagami is the protagonist in the anime and manga Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure tri.. He is a major supporting character in Digimon Adventure 02. He is a DigiDestined, partnered with Agumon, and the bearer of the Crest of Courage. He is the older brother of Hikari Yagami.

Taichi is energetic and adventurous. He is also acts impulsively and rushes without thinking the consequences, especially when his friends are in danger but is quick to realize and admit he has been wrong, and does whatever it takes to fix his mistakes. Despite his flaws, Taichi is very caring and considerate of others, even if his actions may cause some people to think otherwise. It takes time for him to learn how to be a leader, but eventually he grows into the unifying force that leads all the other DigiDestined and keeps them together.

At any rate, Tezuka Osamu's Manga began in earnest with the meeting of Tezuka Osamu and Kenichi-kun. Kenichi was given the leading role in the majority of the early works, including "New Treasure Island", and was the first star of Tezuka Osamu's Manga. He looked out intently onto the world, was habitually considerate and never forgot to be kind, and in this he embodied the kind of conscientiousness and purity of "childhood days". Afterwards, the Manga world started to focus attention on "realities that cannot be communicated through the agency of simple integrity". Due to the need to exist as outsiders from human society, leading characters, including Atom, came to have other facets to their characters in addition to their innocent righteousness.

Tezuka Osamu himself said, "I was forced to relinquish Kenichi from his role as protagonist because he lacked individuality." In the same way as people even come to feel embarrassed by the innocence of their sense of equity as children when they reach adulthood, the Manga world forgot Kenichi as it struggled to grow up. Nonetheless, no matter how grown up, how adult our faces become, our "childhood days" live on forever in our hearts, and in the same way, Kenichi continued to put in straight performances as the "righteous boy" who occasionally appears in Tezuka Osamu's Manga.

In contrast to his appearance, he is rather quiet and gentle and has his difficulties realizing that he is Karasuno's ace as he initially doesn't feel that way. He shows to be weak-willed at the beginning when he leaves the team before the first years come, feeling that he let down his entire team when they lost against Date Tech High even though they counted on him. After coming back to Karasuno, he realizes that his will to play volleyball is much stronger than he thought and with the help of his teammates, he acknowledges his position as Karasuno's ace (even though he is still mocked sometimes by Daichi for not having any "ace-like presence") and gains self-confidence.
