Legato was recruited by Knives after the July incident to make Vash's life a living hell, though the nightmare doesn't really begin until about midway through the series. From that point on, this man continues to weave a living nightmare for Vash, not only on his own but also through the gang of eleven superpowered killers who are under his command: the Gung-Ho Guns.

Legato himself possesses a dark power: the ability to control people's bodies against their will. 
~!His favorite bit of poetic justice is to make gangs of people who oppose him shoot each other, and this special power is what finally forces Vash to cross the line he promised himself he'd never cross. By controlling some villagers and pointing their guns at Meryl and Milly, he forced Vash into a choice between two unacceptable options: either allow the girls to die, or take the only possible action to save them...and kill him.    

Legato's telekinetic powers come from the fact that he has Vash's left arm. When Knives shot it off, it was attached to Legato. This is why Legato can control other people's bodies (originally one of Vash's and Knives' powers) and can activate Vash's angel arm the same way Knives did in July.    

It is unclear how Vash's arm was transplanted to Legato, since Vash is a humanoid plant and Legato is human. One might think that perhaps Legato is also a humanoid plant, but it is made clear in the series that Legato is human and hates himself because of it. Thus we can only assume that Knives somehow "reconstructed" and modified Legato in some way.!~

He hasn't seen his best friend Ryo in over a month since moving in with Miki's family. When they reunite he is in for a big surprise that will forever change him, his life, and all of mankind.

Taiki is Nakatsu's roommate, and has the ability to see ghosts and detect auras. He is always doing Nakatsu's aura report. He's also into yoga. When he first comes to Osaka High, he was teased by others due to his ESP skills. However, Nakatsu sees him as a good friend.     In volume 4, Nakajo noted that Kayashima took his name from the &quot;Kayashima Station&quot;, a railway station on the Keihan Main Line. He also claimed that many workers were injured during the construction of the station, as a large tree was considered to be cut down. Natsuno lives and attends school in Sotoba. He hates living in the village and prefers to be in the city. Originally a city dweller, Natsuno reluctantly moves to Sotoba with his parents when they wanted a change of environment. He often exhibits a cold exterior, especially disliking Megumi Shimizu's presence, who has a crush on him and is obsessed(to the point where she stalks him). He is kind and friendly toward those whom he considers his friends (Tooru, Kaori, Akira and Tooru's younger siblings)  Natsuno is one of the two main protagonists in the series.   

~!His best friend Tooru is forced to turn him into a shiki. However, unlike the normal shikis who cannot go out in daylight and can be killed in various ways, Natsuno is the very rare "werewolf" type of vampire like Tatsumi, who can stand the sunlight and cannot be killed. As a shiki, Natsuno avoids drinking human blood, which makes him weaker than Tatsumi, and allies himself with Toshio to bring down the Kirishiki family even though Tooru remains by Sunako's side. It is also shown that he still deeply cares about Kaori and Akira. At the end of the anime series, Natsuno tackles Tatsumi and they both fall into a deep pit of dead bodies. Detonating the top of the pit with a stick of dynamite, Natsuno buries himself and Tatsumi beneath the rubble.!~

An antisocial, graffiti-loving kid who keeps his headphones on to shut the world out. He awakens in the middle of Shibuya's Scramble Crossing and immediately realizes that something is amiss...

He was the most powerful offspring of the Chimera Ant Queen. He was known as the King of the Chimera Ants, and served as the main antagonist of the Chimera Ant arc.

He descends on the Republic of East Gorteau and takes over over the country by killing its dictator, Ming Jol-ik. Meruem then uses Jol-ik's corpse as a puppet to order East Gorteau's population of approximately five million to gather simultaneously in the capital city for a national rally. This however, is a ruse, designed to create a situation where entire towns and villages could be secretly abducted for a "selection", the forcible awakening of nen, without their disappearance being noticed.

Meruem's eventual plan was to take the one percent of the population that would survive such an awakening and turn them into soldiers for an army he will use to conquer the world. This plan is temporarily disrupted by [Killua](https://anilist.co/character/27/Killua-Zoldyck), who assassinates a number of "selectors", but a backup plan is soon implemented; East Gorteau is put under martial law, and the population undergo selection in their own homes, though this slows down the process considerably, and only 500,000 people are processed, with 5,000 predicted survivors. Soon after this occurs, the Hunters [Netero](https://anilist.co/character/14489/Isaac-Netero), [Morel](https://anilist.co/character/29806/Morel-Mackernasey), [Knuckle](https://anilist.co/character/29809/Knuckle-Bine), [Shoot](https://anilist.co/character/29807/Shoot-McMahon), Killua, and [Gon](https://anilist.co/character/30/Gon-Freecss) attack the palace, with the intention of separating the Royal Guards from Meruem and assassinating him.

Meruem's initial personality, when he his first shown in the story, is that of arrogance. The Queen's intention to give birth to a perfect offspring is reflected in Meruem's mentality. He considered himself superior to all other forms of life and felt no concern for his dying mother after his "birth." Meruem was also merciless, instantly killing any chimera ant he considered disrespectful. Meruem was seen killing and eating other chimera ants, something no other chimera ant had ever done.

After reaching East Gorteau and putting his plans into motion, Meruem took an interest in various board games, and gathered various champion-level players to his palace. Simply by reading the rule books, Meruem was able to master any game in under ten matches, simultaneously learning from his opponents while disrupting the "flow" of their play style. After defeating the best player for each game, Meruem proceeded to kill them, as they were of no further use to him.

The final game Meruem learns is Gungi, a fictional shogi-like board game invented by East Gorteau. The world champion for the game is Komugi, a seemingly dimwitted blind girl; However, as Meruem played against her, he found himself unable to disrupt her flow, while at the same time, the challenge of playing against Meruem caused [Komugi](https://anilist.co/character/14313/Komugi)'s skills to increase. Much to the shock of the Royal Guards, Meruem even starts show respect for Komugi and concern for Komugi's well being. In one instance Meruem rips his left arm off, as an apology to Komugi for asking her to bet her left arm on a game, to which she replied that she always bet her life. In another instance, after watching Komugi's nen suddenly awaken, and realizing she would grow exponentially stronger, but only in terms of Gungi, Meruem momentarily decides that his power of "violence" was the strongest type of strength, and ultimately Komugi's abilities are meaningless; Yet, moments after this decision, Meruem finds Komugi under attack by a large bird of prey, and is unable to bring himself to do anything except protect her, ultimately unable to understand his own emotions toward Komugi. This leaves Meruem in a contemplative state, wondering about the purpose for his existence in the world.

As of chapter 290 of the manga, Meruem is preparing to battle Netero, who attacked his castle in order to assassinate him. Before the battle, Komugi is gravely injured by a nen ability meant to cause confusion within the palace, and Meruem orders [Neferpitou](https://anilist.co/character/12300/Neferpitou) to save her life. The way Meruem is drawn in this scene suggests he has learned what it means to have concern for someone else's well being.

He and Netero then travel to a remote location that was once used for military weapons testing, so that they may both go all out in their fight. However, in a surprising twist, Meruem refuses to fight the Hunter. Through a short conversation between the two, the King reveals that he finally realizes that he should use his power to protect the weak, seeing from Komugi that there are humans who deserve to live; Netero counted among them. He also expresses a desire to remake the world so that everyone is so equal, the term "equality" would become obsolete. Netero realizes that Meruem is dangerously caught between his Ant instincts and his humanity, and at this point, either facet of his psyche could win out. Knowing that he has a mission to carry out regardless, and not wanting his heart to waver, Netero suddenly assaults Meruem first with a devastating attack.

Meruem possesses a nen ability that allows him to absorb the raw aura of nen-users he has killed. By devouring their brain, he adds their aura to his own--further increasing his power. His fighting ability is such that even Netero, chairman of the Hunter committee, expresses doubt that he could defeat him.!~

Midnight is a mage which belongs to the Oración Seis guild, a dark guild composed of highly powerful mages whose goal is to find a power known as Nirvana, a very destructive power that was sealed away long ago. Not much is know about Midnight currently that not even the Blue Pegasus Guild, who were monitoring the Oración Seis, have much information about him outside his name.  He thinks of Brain as his own father, but they are not related.

Dokuga is one of five generals of the Crosseyes Gang, who serve directly under the Boss. Dokuga&#039;s magic is poisonous saliva, which isolates him even among his friends, and restrains him from expressing emotions such as anger or laughter, since any stray spittle is extremely dangerous. This makes Dokuga calm, intelligent, and focused. He cares a lot about his comrades, and is fanatically loyal to the Crosseyes Boss, whom he admires for giving meaning to his life in a world that rejected him. He is willing to do anything the Boss asks of him, perhaps because this is the only form of affection he can safely express. Dokuga is surprisingly strong for his size, and is a very mobile fighter highly skilled in the use of knives.

Gin is a spirit of the forest. He encounters Hotaru first when she was very young and got lost in the forest. After helping her out of the forest, Hotaru stated that she will return to give him a gift. From then on, the two became close friends and met each other every summer.   ~!Gin was once a human, but died from being abandoned in the forest as a young baby. The mountain god cast a spell on Gin, allowing him to live. But since the spell casted upon him was fragile, if he ever touches the skin of a living human, the spell would break and he would disappear.!~

Kaito Tenjou is a Number Hunter in Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL. He was originally a nice person, but when his brother Haruto Tenjo fell sick, Dr. Faker told him that it was due to the Number holders and the Astral World, thus Kaito turned evil trying to seek out the holder of The Emperor's Key which would lead him to Astral.

Yoshino was living a normal high school life until he meets a Evangeline Yamato while he was visiting the grave of a family friend. His world is then changed as he decides to help his friend and save the world. Yoshino is calm and clever who is brave and strong. He is the type to make calculative judgements before making any decisions.    ~!Despite his good guy facade; Yoshino is actually very manipulative and deceitful as explained by Mahiro in the countless times he betrayed him; It is due to this nature that Samon asks Mahiro to kill Yoshino in fear that he will manipulate Hakaze to alter the world to his choosing.  He breaks down after Hakaze pushes him on showing his real emotions and to stop hiding everything from everyone else.!~   ~!In the final chapter we see him passing his university entrance exam with Mahiro.  He tells Hakaze that there are lots of other guys out there better than him but Hakaze still won't give up on him.!~

A 2nd Lieutenant Juvenile officer and son of a General of the GHQ. He is a cruel and sadistic man who enjoys causing pain to others and due to having mysophobia, he hates being touched by others believing they are infected. His Void is a weapon called "Kaleidoscope", which is able to create a myriad of barriers to deflect attacks.

Son of a Yakuza family. He's intelligent but not an adept fighter. He likes sweet things, wants to marry a Yamato Nadeshiko and says he's the kind of person who has to do it absolutely correctly when he puts his mind into something otherwise he can't be satisfied.

One of Izumo's subordinates, and the man whom Cayenne saw with Mikono in his "wedding in mourning clothes" vision.   Feeling Mikono's scent, Kagura claims that he had found his "wench" and thus, is determined to claim her at all costs. Going far as disobeying Izumo and searching for her alone in Vega.   His behavior is similar to a wolf and his sense of smell is so strong that he can track the one he desires easily. When he is aboard of his mecha, Misla Gnis, his sense of smell grows stronger to the point he can smells the pilots in the Vectors.  Later on, it's revealed that he is also a element user. His power is to "reverse", allowing him to reverse the damage in his own body to the one trying to inflict it or even reversing the blood flow within another's people heart. And just like it occurs with other elements, Kagura's reversing power is reflected on his speech, as the more he craves for Mikono, the more he insults and threatens her.  His appearance and attitude resemble those of Apollo, the protagonist of the original Aquarion series.

He has a lot of respect for the legendary bladers and is flustered when he first meets Tsubasa, who fought alongside them and who is now the president of the WBBA.
