Kanon Maldini is a subordinate of Schneizel el Britannia, serving as a political and military adviser. Kanon follows Suzaku to the Kururugi Temple in order to investigate and capture Zero; while there, he obtains conclusive evidence not only of the masked terrorist's identity, but also of the existence of Geass. This evidence proves essential in convincing the leaders of the Black Knights to betray Zero. When Schneizel decides to stage a coup d'état, Kanon notes that he's finally made the decision, but seems apprehensive about it.

Takeshi also looks to his idol, a famous IGPX pilot known as Rocket G, or simply "The Rocket", as a source of inspiration. The Rocket is later revealed to be Team Satomi's coach Andrei Rublev. Takeshi was a couple with Fantine Valjean and met with her at times when playing Watch World, however, in season 2, they broke up. When Athrun attended the ZAFT military academy, Yuki served as his mentor, and now that the young pilot has returned to the PLANTs it falls to Yuki to inform him of the failure of Operation Spit Break, the theft of the Freedom Gundam, and the apparent treason of Lacus Clyne.

Conway was shown to be a very smart Trainer. His strategies played an important role in helping himself and Dawn to advance to the finals of the Hearthome City Tag Battle Competition. Conway appears again in Camping It Up! through One Team, Two Team, Red Team, Blue Team! during a four-episode arc at a summer school. During this arc he demonstrates his knowledge about Pok&eacute;mon as well as an attraction towards Dawn. He later appears at the end of the opening The Greatest - Everyday!.    Conway uses very effective strategies, but doesn&#039;t improvise much, something that has led to several losses for him. Being a soldier of the Survey Corps who survived multiple encounters with Titans significantly affected Gunther's personality, making him deeply obedient and loyal to his superiors. Within the Special Operations Squad, Gunther seems to be the most reasonable one. However, he is shown to get irritated when his comrades joke around with one another, showing he also possesses a stern side and does not take kindly if a soldier doesn't focus on the task at hand.
