Sara is a young (seven at the series' beginning) English girl who has lived in India for most of her life. While her mother is dead, she loves her wealthy father dearly and is sad to leave him to attend boarding school. However, she is very optimistic and is able to make the best of her situation even when tragedy threatens to strike.    Sara prefers reading to most traditional childhood games and can read books that are much harder than one would expect a little girl to read. Because of this, she's also extremely intelligent, and quickly becomes the school's star pupil. She has a huge imagination which she uses to make up stories that captivate her classmates. When she's in bad situations, she also uses her talent to imagine that things are better.

Sara, a pretty girl born into a rich British family in India, is treated like a little princess at a dormitory school in London. Sara’s sweet school life turns to tragedy when she learns of her father’s death and the family’s bankruptcy. After graduating from the Toho Gakuen College of Drama and Music, she joined Gekidan Seinenza, a theatrical acting troupe. Her best-known voice roles include [Nausicaä](https://anilist.co/character/539/) in [Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind](https://anilist.co/anime/572/), and [Kyouko Otonashi](https://anilist.co/character/4745/) in [Maison Ikkoku](https://anilist.co/anime/1453/).

She won the role of Nausicaä as she had played [Clarisse](https://anilist.co/character/11236/) in [The Castle of Cagliostro](https://anilist.co/anime/1430/) and impressed Hayao Miyazaki.

She is married to Daisuke Koshikawa, one of the founders of the comedy troupe Chibikko Gang. Their first child, [Shiori Koshikawa](https://anilist.co/staff/185752/Koshikawa-Shiori), has also done voice acting.
