As the &quot;voice of IGPX&quot; announcer, Benjamin Bright (Tadashi Miyazawa, Tom Kenny) has become world famous for his color commentary on the sport. He slowly develops a grudging appreciation for the untested rookies of Team Satomi. Though only seen in person once (while introducing the teams in season 1), Bright can often be seen giving race commentary and IGPX news on the various public TV screens scattered around the city and on the trademark blimp that hovers above the track.

In the year 2048, people are raving about a fighting race called &ldquo;Immortal Grand Prix&rdquo;, or IGPX in short, which is faster and more exciting than any of the existing motor sports. The phenomenon is so big that an entire city was built for the racing industry where competitions take place on a huge track. In the &ldquo;Immortal Grand Prix,&rdquo; two teams of three IG machines, high-tech humanoid mechs driven by humans, race at speeds greater than 400km/h. The teams make three laps of a 60 km course while intercepting the opponent as they vie for a first place finish. The best machine performance, the best pilots and the best teamwork are the only factors that can make them the winners.<br><br>

Thomas James Kenny is an American voice actor and comedian perhaps best known for his work in the animated series SpongeBob SquarePants, in which he is the voice of SpongeBob, the narrator, and Gary among others. Aside from voice acting, Kenny was a cast member of the HBO sketch comedy program, Mr. Show and the short-lived Fox sketch show, The Edge, where he worked with Jill Talley, whom he subsequently married. He also hosts the show Funday Night at the Movies on TCM. This show tries to encourage kids to watch "old movies." Kenny got his start in comedy performing stand-up with people such as Wendell E.
