Ouzen the Immovable is an elite White Whistle who lives at the Observation Base on the second level of the Abyss where she commands a small team of cave raiders known as "The Layabouts." Ouzen was a mentor and a close friend of Riko's mother Lyza.

Ouzen is a peerless fighter—her unique relic "Thousand Pins" grants her superhuman strength, speed and longevity (even though Ouzen appears to be young, she's attained the rank of a white whistle more than 50 years back). She's over 2 meters tall and has a peculiar hairstyle which conceals the scalp deformations caused by the extended exposure to the Curse of the Abyss.

Ouzen has absolute control over her facial expressions and her actual feelings (or lack thereof) cannot be guessed with any certainty. The reasons behind her actions are unknowable as well—Ouzen rarely bothers to explain herself and even when she does it's impossible to know whether she's telling the truth or just toying with the audience.

The "Abyss" is the last unexplored place in the world. Strange and wonderful creatures roam within, and it is full of precious relics that present humans can't recreate. Those that dare to explore the depths are known as "Cave Raiders." An orphan girl named Riko lives on the rim. Her dream is to become a Cave Raider like her mother and solve the mysteries of the cave system. One day, Riko starts exploring the caves and discovers a robot who resembles a human boy.

Schroetter completed classical ballet training and attended the Rostock University of Music and Theatre from 1972 to 1975. She acted in several GDR television productions until she was imprisoned in 1981 for attempting to "illegally cross the border". Schroetter was ransomed and moved to West Germany, where she performed in theatres.

Dawn of the Deep Soul continues the epic adventure of plucky Riko and Reg who are joined by their new friend Nanachi. Together they descend into the Abyss’ treacherous fifth layer, the Sea of Corpses, and encounter the mysterious Bondrewd, a legendary White Whistle whose shadow looms over Nanachi’s troubled past. Bondrewd is ingratiatingly hospitable, but the brave adventurers know things are not always as they seem in the enigmatic Abyss...
