Kintarou Oe doesn't look like it, but he is a genius who completed all his university courses and then quit before graduating. He becomes a wandering student, going from place to place on his bicycle, seeking to learn what he can about life, the world, and women. He is willing and able to do any job he has to prove himself. His travels take him to a variety of locations and a variety of women, each who learns to love the hardworking guy, but not before he can run off.

Suhendan "Sue" Ulu is an American voice actress specializing in English voice dubs for anime. Ulu was once an officer in the United States Navy. She has done stage acting in the Houston, Texas area, as well as dubbing work for AD Vision, where her other well-known role is as Dr. Ritsuko Akagi in Neon Genesis Evangelion. She moved to Los Angeles in 1999 to pursue her acting career, where she has appeared in a number of films and in live theatre. She has been a Guest at Anime Expo 2001 and 2002, Fanime 2002, and AniMagic 2002 and 2003. In her spare time, she also races catamarans.

Oe Kintarou is a Tokyo University Law School dropout. However, he had completed all the course work needed to graduate before leaving school. Since then, he has wandered through many jobs all over Japan as a student of life with little more than a journal, a pen, and his trusty mountain bike (the Mikazuki 5). On his journeys, he runs into various compromising situations with beautiful women, and he must use his unique talents as a jack-of-all-trades to survive, let alone have a chance to find his true calling in life.
