Yura is an onmyoji of the Keikain House who specializes in shikigami. She is able to maintain four at once, impressing both Nurarihyon and fellow onmyoji. She was trained by Akifusa, who raised her to see yokai as evil. She seeks to complete her training by defeating Nurarihyon and then inheriting leadership of the Keikain household. After spending time with Rikuo and being exposed to his yokai form, she begins to see how yokai are similar to people in that they are not all good or evil. She is a frugal girl who doesn't mind eating food that has fallen on the floor and is glad her shikigami don't require food. Her stomach growls at inopportune moments, but she doesn't seem to mind.

Rikuo Nura appears to be an average middle school student. No one knows that he comes home every day to a house full of youkai, nor that he transforms into the all-powerful leader of these spirits at night. However, much to the disappointment of many, Rikuo is determined to live as normal a life as possible.

Michelle Suzanne Ruff is an American voice actress known for her work in anime and video games. Height 5' 3½" (1.61 m). Georgette Rose is the name of Michelle Ruff's mother, and Michelle used her mother's name as a pseudonym in her early career.

At first glance, Nura Rikuo seems like nothing more than a normal middle-schooler. In actual fact, he is grandson of Nurarihyon, master of a youkai clan. Having only recently resolved the hostilities between the Nura Clan and the Shikoku Yokai, Rikuo finds no rest as an ancient enemy of the Nura Clan, Haguromo-Gitsune, resurfaces. After 400 years of inactivity, Haguromo-Gitsune suddenly sweeps through Kyoto with overwhelming power.

Rikuo grew up in a house full of yokai, so he always thought they were cool. But the kids in his class talk about yokai like they're bad! When his grandfather announces Rikuo as his chosen heir to run the Nura clan, Rikuo is torn between his human nature and his duties as a yokai. The rest of the clan's not so crazy about a wimpy part-human as their ruler, particularly Gagoze, a high-ranking yokai who would rather eat a human than be ruled by one.
