Yukiko Kudo is the mother of [Shinichi Kudo](https://anilist.co/character/1742/Conan-Edogawa) and, along with her husband [Yusaku,](https://anilist.co/character/9177/Yusaku-Kudo) one of few characters who knows he is Conan Edogawa. She was once a famous actress, but retired after marrying Yusaku. She was also close friends with fellow actress, [Sharon Vineyard.](https://anilist.co/character/6307/Vermouth)

Despite her then-tender years as a student at Teitan High, Yukiko had a prospectively prosperous future in the film industry. Thus it came as a major surprise to the world when, practically out of the blue, she married Yusaku Kudo and retired from acting. She still retains good contacts in the acting and film industry, however, and has since become known as the "Night Baroness" _(named after one of her husband's characters)_ after babbling out some clues provided by Yusaku on a live television show which helped solve a criminal case.

Despite a certain rivalry for popularity in their high school years, which had culminated in a Miss Teitan Election, Yukiko is also a close friend of [Eri Kisaki,](https://anilist.co/character/1744/Eri-Kisaki) and _(unlike Eri)_ finds her daughter [Ran Mouri,](https://anilist.co/character/1748/Ran-Mouri) a perfect match for her son.

After graduating from the Toho Gakuen College of Drama and Music, she joined Gekidan Seinenza, a theatrical acting troupe. The 27th Detective Conan movie. 

A message has arrived from Kid the Phantom Thief, that he will steal a Japanese sword belonging to the wealthy Onoe Family in Hakodate, Hokkaido. Conan and Heiji Hattori, who happened to be in Hakodate, are on the case to capture Kid. Onoe Family's collections are associated with Toshizo Hijikata, a historic figure who perished in Hakodate. Why is Kid, who specializes in jewels, going after a Japanese sword?
 
Coincidentally the family lawyer of Onoe is found murdered in the warehouse district, apparently slaughtered by a Japanese sword. The suspect is an investor/arms dealer who is said to be after Onoe family's hidden treasure.
 
The grandfather of Onoe family's patriarch was deeply involved with the army industry during wartime, and it was rumored he hid some powerful weapon that could “change the course of war” somewhere in Hakodate. Magic File 2 was sold at select retailers (7-11 branded equivalents) in Japan, along with PPV episodes of the show (episodes released long before, such as the NY case). The first disc housed the Movie 12 Side-Story OVA, which features Kudou Shinichi and details a bit of the backstory from the upcoming movie. The second disc was the one with the PPV episodes.

The movie contains cuts from episodes featuring the confrontations between Conan and Kid the Phantom Thief: “Conan vs. Kid the Phantom Thief” and “The Detectives Come Together! Kudo vs. Kid the Phantom Thief”. From birth of the Moonlight Magician, Kid the Phantom Thief, and the first encounter between the greatest and eternal rival Conan / Shinichi, this is a special compilation film of TV series with new footage!
