Shizuno Takakamo is a first-year high school student at Achiga Girls' Academy in Nara Prefecture and the main protagonist of the spin-off manga "Saki Achiga-hen episode of side-A". In her elementary school days, she befriended Nodoka Haramura and together played mahjong in Achiga's mahjong club. She was the club's second best player before it was disbanded. Upon seeing Nodoka on television as the middle school individual champion, she decides to re-establish the club upon entering high school. Her goal is to go to the national high school team tournament and play against Nodoka.   ~!Her special ability allows Shizuno to block other players abilities. The more tiles is taken from the corner of the wall, the stronger her ability is. Literary "the deeper players go in the mountains, the closer they to her territory". That's why she was called The Master of the deep mountains during the semi-final match.!~

Saki's never been a big fan of mahjong. A lifetime of being forced to play with family at holidays (and losing her money as a consequence...) has left a foul taste for the game in her mouth. When she's convinced, though, to play a game with her classmates, she discovers that not only has fending off her family left her with an uncanny ability for the game but, more surprisingly, that it can even be fun!
 
Is this revelation enough to cleanse Saki's distaste for the game? Can her classmates convince her to join their club, or is there just too much baggage to make it worth her while?

Six years later, elementary school student Shizuno Takakamo befriends transfer student Nodoka Haramura. The two eventually enter Achiga Girls', but Nodoka transfers out of the school in the second year.

Aoi Yabusaki, better known by her stage name Aoi Yuuki, is a Japanese actress, voice actress and singer represented by Pro-Fit.

Yuuki entered the entertainment industry at the age of four. As a child, she acted in films and dramas. From 1999 to 2002, she made regular appearances on the variety shows Appare Sanma Dai-sensei and Yappari Sanma Dai-sensei which aired on Fuji TV. When she was in fifth grade, she made her debut as a voice actress as [Sakura](https://anilist.co/character/15429/) on [Kino's Journey](https://anilist.co/anime/486/).

In late 2006, she was affiliated with the theater company Central. After her admission to high school in August 2007, she joined the agency Breath, whilst changing her stage name to Aoi Yuuki. In August of the same year, she moved to the agency Pro-Fit.
