Bakabon&#039;s troublemaker father who eventually steals the show and becomes the central character. His catchphrase is saying Kore de ii noda (これでいいのだ It&#039;ll be allright?) to someone when trying to get them to go along with one of his stupid plans. A typical episode plot involves Papa either being too stupid to perform a simple task or coming up with some crazy idea to accomplish a simple task, usually asking for his son Bakabon&#039;s advice and causing tons of trouble in either case. He was once very smart but became an idiot after an accident. He is known for always wearing his trademark hachimaki. His favorite food is octopus. Papa has become an anime icon in Japan and was even ranked Number 9 in a 2002 TV Asahi Top 100 Anime Characters list.

Tensai Bakabon is the tale of a child prodigy and his "philosophical" father. Bakabon&lsquo;s father has his own philosophy and he leaves no stone unturned in his quest for answers. Despite his ability to trouble Trouble, for some reason, Papa Bakabon is regarded as "The Great Philosopher," and is sought after for advice, which of course ends up in disastrous results. In this spoof, the orphan Nello and his dog Patrash decide to take revenge instead of going to heaven. Nello and Patrash now orchestrate a shadowy organization, and Bakabon's family decides to confront them to save the world.

The anime revolves around little creatures called "Kakusen" who live in the skin pores of humans. Nyuruo is newborn Kakusen who was born in the nose, Nyuruo is ignorant of the world around him, but he is honest. His hobby is stamp rallies and his dream is to become a government worker.
