Yukari Sakuragi is one the class officers, the other being Kazami, of Yomiyama North Middle School's 9th grade class.    ~!After hearing an important message from a teacher, she takes her umbrella and runs out of the classroom. After seeing Sakakibara with Misaki standing in the hallway she runs to the opposite direction. She runs downstairs and slips. Her umbrella falls out of her hand and she falls on it with her throat being pierced by the iron point of her umbrella and dies a few seconds later. We find out later on that her mother died on the same day, which could have been the reason why Sakuragi had left the classroom.!~   ~!Sakuragi appearance in the manga is completely different from her appearance in the anime. In the manga, Sakuragi has straight black hair. However, in the anime, she has curly brown hair.!~

When Kouichi Sakakibara transfers to a new school, he senses a frightening atmosphere in his new class, a secret none of them will talk about. At the center is the beautiful Mei Misaki. Kouichi is immediately drawn to her mysterious aura, but he begins to realize that no one else in the class is aware of her presence. Soon after his arrival, what is known as the Calamity begins, and it claims the lives of many students.

In a third-year classroom of Yamakita Middle School 26 years ago, there was a student named Misaki.
