Ichigo Kurosaki is an orange haired teenager who lives in Karakura Town, being a capable student at his High School. But, more importantly, he's a Substitute Soul Reaper.

Ever since he was young, Ichigo has been able to see spirits, to the point where he could not tell the living from the dead. Due to this oddity, he would end up meeting [Rukia Kuchiki](https://anilist.co/character/6/Rukia-Kuchiki), a Soul Reaper. Soon after, once a hollow appeared and threatened his family, he recklessly fought back against it, forcing Rukia to save him by taking the blow of it's attack. Seeing Ichigo's determination to protect his family, Rukia offered to temporarily turn him into a Soul Reaper by piercing his chest with her Zanpakutou and transferring half of her power to him. Ichigo goes through with it, allowing him to make short work of the Hollow, and forcing him to fulfill Rukia's role as a Soul Reaper until she can regain her powers.

Being stubborn, short-tempered, strong-willed, and impulsive, Ichigo often claims not to care about what other people think about him, and attempts to maintain a detached and "cool" image. He generally keeps his face set in a near-permanent scowl, with his eyebrows drawn together. His outspoken, hot-headed demeanor is a trait Ichigo himself has acknowledged, and if somebody picks a fight with him, he cannot help fighting back. Ichigo's resolve in battle can waver at times, which can impede his fighting prowess, and he tends to go into a state of depression and self-loathing when he loses a major fight or lets a friend down. Despite what he lets on, he is genuinely compassionate and empathetic towards others, and doesn't mind helping others when they become upset, or need the support. He is always willing to fight to protect those he cares for, no matter what it is he would be fighting against.

Allen is the main hero of the series. He was abandoned by his biological parents because of the supposed "deformity" of his left arm (which was later revealed to be caused by his Innocence). He was eventually found and adopted by a traveling performer named Mana Walker on Christmas Day. Some time later Mana died, and Allen, tormented with grief and manipulated by the Millennium Earl, turned Mana into an Akuma, hoping that his beloved surrogate father would be fully resurrected. But the Mana Akuma cursed Allen and sliced through his left eye, leaving the "Pentacle" — the mark of the Akuma — which scars the left side of his face. This enabled his left eye to see the souls trapped within the Akuma from then on. It was at this same moment that Allen's left arm first invoked as an Anti-Akuma weapon, which instinctively destroyed the Mana Akuma. During the course of this traumatic event, Allen's hair turned from brown into a stark white.  

Allen eventually meets Cross Marian, a General of the Black Order, who explained to Allen the ways of the Akuma and the trapped souls within them: Once a soul becomes trapped inside an Akuma, they are trapped forever; and that the only way to save one is to exorcise them from their Akuma vessel. Allen subsequently became Cross' disciple and spent the next three years with him before being sent to the Black Order to become an official exorcist. During this time, Allen was tormented by his master's constant irresponsible behavior and forced into various odd-jobs to pay off the debts that General Cross accumulated. This, coupled with Marian's womanizing ways and harsh treatment towards Allen, led to Walker fearing more than respecting his master whom he never speaks fondly of. 

~!In fact, when Jasdevi claims that Cross is like a demon, Allen denies this and instead insists that Cross is a real demon. In addition, when Jasdevi reveal that the debts Cross left to them total about 2 million yen, Allen grows demon horns, laughs at them, and calls their debts small change in comparison to his own, leaving Lavi to wonder just how much money Allen's been made to pay.  In addition to being physically fit and skilled at combat (as evident by his ability to fight and dodge Fou without the use of his Innocence), Allen has a few odd talents and skills. Because of the many debts Allen was forced into paying by Cross, he learned to play cards and gamble at a very young age, though his initial purpose was to practice his numb deformed left hand. He also learned how to cheat and win through deception and doesn't hesitate to use these tactics whenever necessary. In fact, he is quite proud of his talents. This is a stark contrast to his polite and courteous nature and often surprises his friends who wouldn't expect such a dark side to Allen and has caused them to wonder just what Cross has done to him. Walker also possesses circus abilities such as juggling and acrobatics, which he learned from traveling with Mana who was himself a circus clown by trade.!~

~!Inspector Levrier and Cross have both referred to a "player" (as in one who plays a musical instrument), and Cross has hinted that there may be more than one.  Allen's synchronization ratio reached a maximum of 83% before having his Innocence destroyed by Tyki. Yet unknown to Allen, the Innocence lingered around as a hazy fog of particles; at the time, a direct reflection of his shattered state of mind. It wasn't until he came to an epiphany that he was able to seize control of his Anti-Akuma weapon once again and achieving his Innocence's true, fully-invoked form. When not activated, his arm is black and meets with his shoulder in a spiraling pattern that ends with tattoo-like emblem. Following this, the Order gave it the official designation of Crowned Clown (神ノ道化（クラウン・クラウン）, Kuraun Kuraun), due to its jester-like appearance when invoked. The kanji used in the name literally translates to God's Clown (神ノ道化, Kami no Douke). !~

~!When invoked, Crowned Clown acts as a body-armored Innocence, forming a white-hooded cowl and sleeve of Innocence energy which covers his shoulders and right arm, while his left arm and hand become slender and black, clad in armor and razor sharp claws. A masquerade-style mask is always affixed to the cowl, which takes on various configurations and appearances. This transformation also changes Allen's usual hairstyle from flat to a spiky rear. As before, his Innocence possesses a certain degree of sentience, but as Crowned Crown is able to manipulate Allen's entire body like a marionette when incapacitated, or simply assisting in evasive tactics.!~

Takuya Kanbara is the main character in the Digimon anime series "Digimon Frontier". In this series, a group of chosen human children are given the ability to turn into Digimon. Takuya is the leader of this group, and is given the "Spirits of Flame" at the beginning of the series. He is in the fifth grade (sixth grade in the dubbed version).  Takuya's story starts when he receives a mysterious SMS message on his mobile phone one afternoon, on his brother's birthday, conviently. The message instructs him to go to a subway station, where a Trailmon took him and four other human children into the Digital World.  Takuya begins the series as a typical "goggle boy", (only he wears a hat underneath his gray and square goggles)—energetic and athletic, but tending to act without thinking and very stubborn. He has a strong sense of justice, and tries to use his power to do what he believes is right. His hot-headed personality often leads to him arguing with Koji Minamoto, another of Digimon Frontier's main characters. However, they learn to respect each other toward the middle of the series, after their first encounter with Duskmon, and become good friends and partners in battle. He acts like an older brother to Tommy Himi, who reminds him of his real brother Shinya. Against her better judgment, Risa attends an Umibouzu concert with Kohori which leads to her temporary breakup with Otani. He even tells Ōtani that he is in love with Risa, which causes Ōtani to slug him.

Gaara was introduced in the series in Chuunin Exams arc, as a violent shinobi from Konoha's allied country, the Wind country. He came to Konoha with his siblings Temari and Kankuro, and with his mentor Baki, to participate in Chuunin exams.  From the first look, he was shown as merciless and violent individual. Due to his hard childhood, and lack of love, Gaara grew up hating everybody around him, loving only himself.   In fateful incident about 6 years before the main story time, he made himself a tattoo of Japanese Kanji letter "Ai", which stands for "Love". In Gaara's case, that Love was for himself, as he was "Demon loving only himself".  Gaara's point of view dramatically changed after a clash with Naruto, who taught him the true meaning of loving others. Since then, Gaara always feels in debt to Naruto, and tries to help him as much as he can.  Like Naruto, Gaara is a Jinchuuriki who holds within him the one tailed beast, Ichibi no Shukaku. Gaara also relates to Naruto in that in his early years, Gaara was often repelled by other children, and feared by Suna's citizens due to the incredible power he possessed.

Satoshi (known as Ash Ketchum in most international territories) is the main character of the Pocket Monsters anime. He is also the main character of various manga based on the anime, including but not limited to Dengenki Pikachu, Satoshi to Pikachu, and Pocket Monsters Diamond & Pearl. He is a Pokémon Trainer from Masara Town whose goal is to become a Pokémon Master. His starter Pokémon was a Pikachu that he received from Professor Okido after arriving late at his laboratory.

Len is a Shaman from China, one of the few remaining members of the Tao Family, who after their years of serving as the guardians of the Forbidden City, became outcasts and condemned as witches and devils. Those two centuries of suffering were the fuel of the hatred En bared for those outside of their clan and even more for those of the Tao family who associated themselves with outsiders like his brother or Len's father (in the Japanese version, En is Len's father, in the English version, is his uncle).

Len was taught to hate and see the worst in people, with the Tao family Crest magically tattooed on his back by his uncle as a reminder of his "destiny" to be Shaman King so he can punish the world for what it did to the Tao clan. But that all changed when he met and fought [Yoh](https://anilist.co/character/167/Yoh-Asakura), whose laid back nature and friends convinced Len that En was wrong about people.

Ren is serious, logical, and quite aloof. He tries hard to maintain a tough and confident exterior, but deep down would risk his own life for his allies. He is a particularly impatient person with a short temper and isn't afraid to hurt the source of the anger. Because of how he was raised amongst dead corpses and spirits he began applying the survival of the fittest rule as a way of overcoming death. He is also an egotistical person and usually doesn't care that people think that he's overly proud. He even named his own team, Team "The Ren", much to the annoyance of his teammate, [Horohoro](https://anilist.co/character/173/Horohoro). In addition, Ren is also very intuitive, quick-witted, sometimes quite stubborn and he can also be very defiant. 

A narcoleptic 14 year boy and the main protagonist. He was kidnapped along with his older sister Mizuka 11 years ago, on September 2, 1996, but only Tarō was rescued alive. Since then, he has out-of-body experiences (O.B.Es) during his sleep, and has the habit of recording what he sees in them in order to figure out the reason for it. He is currently seeking help from the school psychologist to help him work them out, and remember details from certain dreams. He wants to meet his sister again in the kakuriyo (spirit world) as there are things he wishes to ask. Tarō is unable to remember the face of his kidnapper and has flashbacks containing a black giant taking his sister away.  Tarō is portrayed as kind and polite, worrying about the health of his mother more than himself. In the aftermath of an accident at the Komagusu family's shrine, he discovered an ability to apparently travel inside his own brain. During astral projection, when he begins to feel distinct emotions of rage and hatred, his spirit begins to transform into a dog-like apparition. This has only occurred twice, during confrontations with the apparent spirit of the man who kidnapped him and his sister 11 years ago. Recently, his form, having apparently stabilized during his astral projection, seems to have taken his human shape.   ~! He eventually comes to the conclusion that Miyako is the reincarnation of Mizuka, his dead sister, and thinks this causes his feelings for Miyako. The three friends also found out that Taro and Mizuka were the replacements of Makoto in being kidnapped. He later realizes that his sister's spirit has been living within him all along and that his feelings of love for Miyako were actually real.!~

Xellos tends to behave like a playful trickster, answering nearly all questions directed toward him with "Sore wa himitsu desu," literally "That is a secret." He seems to delight in the frustration that ensues with his withholding of information. For the majority of the second season, Xellos acts simply for comedy's sake frequently breaking the fourth wall and addressing the viewers; all the while subtly and even sinisterly advancing the plot. Generally, Xellos' mood can be determined by the state of his eyes. If they are closed, he is acting as the "Trickster Priest," but when he opens them he brings forth the Mazoku. However, on occasion he opens his eyes out of mere surprise (as in the fourth episode of NEXT, when Lina reveals her knowledge of the Pledge Stone).

Xellos' true intentions always seem to be a mystery. As a mazoku his main goal is to return the universe into the nothingness of the Sea of Chaos, but near the end of the series he aids Lina and the others in saving the world instead. Even though he tends to manipulate Lina and the others he has saved their lives on few occasions, such as saving Martina Zoana Mel Navratilova from bandits for no apparent reason, and saving Filia during their battle with Valgaav. The reasons for doing so are never given which leads Xellos to be one of the many enigmas of the series.

Xellos is extremely loyal to Zelas Metallium and usually acts only if ordered (although at times he has aided Lina's group without having been ordered by Zelas), and it is assumed that he would gladly follow any of her requests in order to keep her pleased, even if he is not pleased with them himself (an example of this is when he was ordered to offer to kill Lina Inverse if ValGaav joined the Mazoku side in TRY).

In the novels, the Slayers group generally abhors his presence, while in the anime he is treated as more of a tolerable nuisance.  In the anime, Xellos and Lina seem to have a sort of mutual respect for each other. He seems to enjoy the chaos that follows Lina, and follows her for the sake of fun even if he is not ordered to do so. In the novels Xellos seems to be more distant around her, looking somewhat troubled by the fact that Lina, unlike other humans he has dealt with, is able to see the bigger picture of things and is not tricked so easily.

Zelgadis holds a powerful hatred towards the Mazoku because in the 2nd episode of NEXT, he had destroyed a Claire Bible manuscript which, the chimera thought, might have contained the cure to his appearance. This naturally does not bother Xellos one bit, even though he is the only one who does not tease Zelgadis about his appearance.  When Amelia makes one of her heroic, "justice filled" speeches Xellos listens with amusement and mild curiosity, although they do tend to disturb him at times. When she makes endless comments about how beautiful and wondrous the world and life are Xellos becomes extremely weakened, and even cringes at her minor comments. So great is the effect of these speeches on Xellos that, when forced to fight him, the group has even used one of them as a weapon to render Xellos helpless.

Filia is the only being capable of annoying Xellos. Even though he tries to be polite to her, she continues to insult him and call him names like Raw Garbage (namagomi). Xellos likes to tease Filia by the fact that she is part of the dragon race, he makes comments like " Those of the Dragon Race would rather use violence than trying to compromise", or anything along those lines. Xellos seems to have a personal enjoyment of not only making fun of her, but he seems to like tricking her the most. Her hatred towards him comes from the fact that he killed many dragons during the Kõma Wars (War of the Monsters Fall) 1000 years ago. By the end of the series, they learn to tolerate each other and are capable of having at least one decent conversation.

Xellos is widely considered to be the most powerful Mazoku under the five lords. As such he is nearly immune to all Black Magic, only the spells that call upon Shabranigdo or the Lords can even faze him; however, he is vulnerable to spells that use the power of the Lord of Nightmares, though given his speed it is unlikely that he would allow someone to cast the spell against him.

Immensely powerful, Xellos is capable of annihilating nearly anything using his own power. This is best shown by his destruction of an entire clan of Golden Dragons. However, he tends to underestimate his opponents, leading to himself getting beaten severely by ValGaav.  Like all Mazoku, Xellos can teleport anywhere he can imagine by phasing to and from the Astral Side.

The most mysterious of the Gung-Ho Guns. His portrayal in both the anime and manga are drastically different.    In the anime, Zazie uses the identity of a young boy named &quot;Beeb&quot; as a disguise. He can control sand-worms with a high-frequency device he wears on his head.    The anime never exactly gives a clear explanation as to what Zazie was. It can be theorized that Zazie was a malevolent entity that took control of the boy whenever it needed to, that he was in fact a much older man who only looked like a young boy, or that he was actually a child assassin driven to the brink of insanity by his association with the Guns.    In the manga...   ~!his body is controlled by a collective of group-minded insects. These insects are the original inhabitants of the planet Gunsmoke and have formed an alliance with Knives to see whether humans or Plants are better to co-exist with. The insects that form Zazie also seem to represent the planet&#039;s consciousness, as represented by the sandworms he can control as well (Zazie has been referred to as the &#039;leader of the sandworms&#039; by Knives). His body is destroyed by Hoppered for spying on him and Midvalley. Zazie later reappears in the body of a teenage girl. In Trigun Maximum 11 this body is destroyed as well after trying to implant an insect in Knives to control him. Zazie reappears one last time as an odd-looking man in disco-clothing in order to deliver his coin to Vash. It is revealed that these bodies are human, but are controlled by a small worm-like creature that lives inside it, similar to the one Zazie tried to implant in Knives. When the hive is destroyed by Knives, the man spits out the creature and has no memories of his time as host to Zazie.!~    His Gung-Ho Gun number is 12 in the manga, and 4 in the anime.
