A third-year who is currently the captain of the Seigaku tennis team. He is known to be a National-level player and has been noted by many characters in the series to be one of the toughest opponents in their era.

Jin is a mild-mannered vagrant ronin who carries himself in the conventionally stoic manner of a samurai of the Tokugawa era. Using his waist-strung daishou, he fights in the traditional kenjutsu style of a samurai trained in a prominent, sanctioned dojo.   Jin wears glasses, an available but uncommon accessory in Edo era Japan. Jin seldom talks and Fuu seems to prefer him to Mugen. He is reputed to have killed his dojo master and his history is shrouded in mystery.

A small-time criminal who was in a gang with his best friend, Harry McDowell, along with three other close friends. After these three were killed, Brandon and Harry joined Millennion, a powerful mafia-type organization formed by Big Daddy. Brandon was trained by the Millennion&#039;s Bear Walken to be a sweeper (hitman), eventually forming his own elite sweeper unit within Millennion called True Grave. Even as Harry rose to power, Brandon remained loyal to Big Daddy for Maria&#039;s sake.      ~!When he eventually confronted Harry over treason against the organization, Harry killed him. Brandon was then resurrected by Dr. T and &quot;Beyond the Grave&quot; was born.!~    In the first game (and the anime), his purpose is to destroy the Millennion syndicate that he had once worked for and the man who betrayed him.     ~!In the storyline of the videogame he actually survives the ordeal, killing Harry (who politely accepts his defeat after the destruction of all of his created monsters). Hiei is a main character in Yu Yu Hakusho, a demon who prefers to keep his distance from others. Because of this he often comes across as aloof and elusive. He has a rather cynical and even misanthropic view of the world around him, often belittling and mocking humans and their emotions and the significance they place on friendship and life.

Hiei is the shortest of the four main characters at only 147 cm (4'10) during the Dark Tournament as stated by [Juri](https://anilist.co/character/8717/). Despite his short size, he has a lean, muscular build to him. He wears a white headband that conceals his Jagan Eye, which is placed on his forehead and has a purple iris. His eyes are crimson, with an angular and slightly slanted shape, giving him a very sinister look in the beginning of the series. He has spiky black hair with blue outlining and white streaks. His skin complexion is regular peach-tan. Living up to his classic villainous persona, Hiei usually dresses entirely in black.

The former leader of the Resistance, later one of the members of the Order of the Black Knights, he asked Zero to become their leader. He was friends with Kallen's older brother, Naoto.

Kawahara is the more mature of Suguru&rsquo;s male friends. He is less out-spoken than Hamaguchi and acts as a foil to Hamaguchi&rsquo;s outbursts. Kawahara also takes Kendo class and admires Suguru&rsquo;s fortitude knowing that his parents have passed away.

Black Jack is a medical mercenary, selling his skills to the highest bidder. He is a shadowy figure, with a black cloak, eerie black-and-white hair, a scar across his face and partially black skin. Black Jack cures patients indiscriminately, from common folk to presidents and yakuza leaders. To his VIP patients, he charges absurd sums. All this has given him a reputation for callousness and greed which he gleefully cultivates. However, to the reader it is clear that Black Jack actually is a good man: he is anti-wealth and anti-prestige, and believes he is actually doing rich people a favor by removing their material wealth. The opposition to wealth and power is a common theme in Tezuka's work: powerful men are almost always portrayed in a negative light.

Throughout his life, Black Jack learned some harsh lessons and has to face the reality that there are times he cannot go against the forces of nature. In difficult and tricky situations, he is a quick thinker and is able to fool others easily. Besides being an expert in surgeries, he is also a skilled combat fighter who makes use of his surgical tools that he hides underneath his cape. Although, he is perfectly capable of fighting with his bare hands, even delivering a single knock-out punch to the stomach at one point. He also shows that he is highly responsible for his patient's safety and well-being, which explains his high pricing. He even goes to the lengths of deceiving his patients to make sure they heal properly. 

He also cares for and is deeply appreciative of people who change his life, such as Dr. Honma, who saved him through surgery once. Black Jack is also very prideful and hates being made fun of, or things he deems important desecrated.



Hajime Saitou is loosely based on the real third-squad captain of the Shinsengumi. During the Meiji era, he lived as a police officer under the name of Gorou Fujita. In the Rurouni Kenshin series, he plays the role of Kenshin's old rival and enemy from the Bakumatsu. He has no compassion or mercy for his enemies and he lives by the Shinsengumi code "Aku Soku Zan (悪即斬)," literally "Slay Evil Immediately," but more poetically rendered as "Swift Death To Evil." His signature technique is the Gatotsu, a left-handed thrust and a variation of the Hirazuki technique developed by Toshizou Hijikata, the Vice Commander of the Shinsengumi. Although the Gatotsu is a fictional technique only found within the Rurouni Kenshin series, the Hirazuki is a real technique that was used by many of the Shinsengumi members.

Fumihiko Makabe becomes the new commander of Alvis in the second episode, when the previous commander dies. For such a strong and thoughtful man, he is surprisingly quiet and kind-hearted. Like all of his generation, he hates the Festum and once wanted an all-out war with them-- but fatherhood has been very good for him. He raises Kazuki alone, as his wife Akane was killed long ago protecting him from the Festum. Although Akane was a higher ranking officer than him (he took her last name upon their marriage ^^), he is also a seasoned soldier who has shed blood--both Festum and human--and always keeps it a priority to prevent the children from having to do the same.  Fumihiko and Kazuki live in a small house that doubles as a ceramics workshop where Fumihiko makes traditional, Japanese clay pots to sell for a living. He hates having to send his son out to fight but tries to keep a strong front to give Kazuki as much stability and reassurance as possible. The Claw (his real name is never revealed) is a mastermind with a nasty looking prosthetic right claw hand and the primary antagonist of the series. He killed both Van's and Ray's wives, and is the subject of their furious lust for revenge. Later in the series it is revealed he plans to create a new world which supposedly will bring happiness to all people and eradicate all sins one has committed during life. Before episode 12, he is only shown in flashbacks as a shadowy figure with the claw hand. In episode 12 however, Wendy runs into a kind, old man who helps her in overcoming her sorrow for her brother. Immediately after the conservation, it is revealed that this man is the claw man when he abruptly screws on his claw hand, to Wendy's horror.    His plan apparently is to change the world by dissolving himself and then combining with everyone and everything on the planet on a subconscious level, perhaps acting as a sort of conscience for people. It is never made clear what exactly would happen to civilization or to himself, nor how the process would occur. Though he denies any plans of world conquest, the fact of the matter is that his methods is a form of total dominance over free will and choice. The plan was also violently opposed by some of his crew members, claiming he was planning on committing genocide on the planet. In one of the episodes they attempt to commit a coup against him in order to force him into revealing the details for his plans. During the negotiations, the Claw Man seems to strongly prefer talk instead of violence, insisting that genocide is not part of his plans. This pacifism and goodwill can be debated, as he minutes later kills one of the rebels by hugging him (apparently of love) while slashing his back with his steel hand, thereby killing him. However, when he relinquishes him and discovers he is dead, he breaks into shock, saying &quot;I did it again&quot;, and repeatedly apologizing, as if unaware of his embrace being lethal for the rebel.    To realize his plans, he gathers a society of loyal and devoted followers (including Wendy's brother Michael and Van's mentor). Within this society he is only known as &quot;The Comrade&quot;.    He wears simple clothes most of the time, despite his high ranking. He also is shown to like gardening, and the company of animals. In general, he is shown to engage in creative and nurturing activities.

Bart Garsus is a first-class citizen from Taraak, coming from rich parents who owned a food production company. He is initially an easily excitable, weak, and cowardly character, and ends up becoming the helmsman of the Nirvana when the ship chose him for the job. Early in Vandread: The Second Stage, Bart showed compassion for a sick little girl on a polluted planet. She listened to his embellished stories and laughed at his jokes. When a Harvest ship came to the planet, he showed courage for the first time by fighting them off almost single handedly with the weapons of the Nirvana. But while he was gone, she died from her illness. She left a doll of Bart she was making, without finishing the hair, so Bart shaved his head in memory of her. Towards the end of the series, he develops feelings for BC, not knowing her secret, but even after he finds out, he is not swayed, and continues to pursue BC for a relationship. The Third Neck (三の首, San no kubi?), he is one of the first Orochi to attack the Miko. He is a very large man with heavy chains hanging off him, which he uses as weapons. The other member of the Onibaku duo, Ryuuji is taller and maybe slightly more restrained than his partner, although get in his bad books and you're in for big trouble. He has more luck with women, having had a relationship with his teacher Ayumi, and later Nagisa (seen in GTO). Ryuuji's family are nice, normal people, who appear quite wealthy, who totally disapprove of his 'bad behavior', however his elder sister Yoko allows him to stay at her home when he needs to. His younger brother is called Yoshitaka. Ryuuji rides a Honda CBX-400F, as seen in Bad Company.

Baptistin is the Count&#039;s other right-hand man. He&#039;s skilled at fencing and practices occasionally with the Count.

Rojuro Otoribashi, commonly referred to as Rose (ローズ, Rōzu?), is the former captain of the 3rd Division. He became captain approximately one year before Kisuke Urahara. He is an effeminate man with long, wavy, blond hair and a frilly shirt. He seems to be interested in music, as he speaks to Love about an artist&#039;s new single and has been seen playing or tuning a guitar on several occasions. Rose appears to be one of the calmer and perhaps wiser ones amongst the group, though he becomes irritated whenever Love spoils a manga&#039;s story for him. His zanpakutō&#039;s hilt is in the shape of a diamond with curved edges, and its sheath is encrusted with diamonds.

Hotohori (星宿?), the fourth Emperor of Kōnan, Emperor Cai Pi (彩賁帝, Saihitei?)  has a reputation for his beauty and his narcissism. He is eighteen years old and was born in Eiyou (Rong-Yang), the capital city of the Konan Empire At April 2nd. As one of the Celestial Warriors of Suzaku, he is able to summon a sword; as such he is a powerful swordsman and has been additionally trained in martial arts since childhood. His true name is Seishuku Shu (朱 星宿, Shu Seishuku?)  based on the star Star (星).    Hotohori first hears of the Priestess of Suzaku at a young age and comes to believe that the priestess would become his true love and the one who would love him for himself instead of his title. Upon meeting Miaka, he falls in love with her and becomes willing to do anything for her sake. As such, he becomes a rival to Tamahome for Miaka&#039;s affection, but eventually concedes when he realizes that Miaka will only ever love Tamahome. Hotohori eventually marries a woman Houki, who bears a striking resemblance to Nuriko. He is killed by Nakago during the battle between Konan and Kutō, leaving Houki pregnant with his son Boushin.    Raised with little warmth, Hotohori appears cold, reserved, and harsh, particularly when acting as the Emperor of Konan, but actually shows himself as a warm, peace-loving and gentle person. Known as a responsible ruler and capable of dealing with political affairs, Hotohori often places the well-being of his subjects first and forgets his own needs in the process. However, Hotohori has limited understanding of the world as a result of being raised in a sheltered environment. After meeting Miaka and the other Celestial Warriors of Suzaku, he is gradually able to act as himself and finds true friends.     ~!In Fushigi Y&ucirc;gi Eikoden, a young boy named Shu Eian (who often visits a local cemetery) revives Hotohori. Kabuto Yakushi is Orochimaru's personal medic, assistant, and general right-hand man. Kabuto was found as a young boy by a chief medical officer of the Konoha Medical Unit Squad. The officer brought Kabuto with him back to Konoha and raised him as a son. Kabuto eventually began acting as a spy for numerous countries and organizations (such as Akatsuki) before coming under the servitude of Orochimaru. Kabuto has since used his various former affiliations as a means to gather intelligence on Orochimaru's behalf.

Kisame Hoshigaki is a missing-nin from Kirigakure and is partnered with Itachi Uchiha. He gets along considerably better with Itachi than most Akatsuki members do with their own partners, immediately doing as Itachi asks of him and always looking out for Itachi's well-being. His former country, the Land of Water, now seeks him out for plotting to overthrow its government and being involved in numerous assassinations. When he was still loyal to Kirigakure, he was one of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist, a group of ninja that wield particularly large weapons in battle. 

Kisame has a distinctive shark-like appearance, complete with pale blue skin, small white eyes, gill-like facial structures, and sharp triangular teeth. Even his name, Kisame, means "demon shark". His shark-like qualities carry over to the type of techniques he uses in battle, as he often shapes bodies of water into the forms of sharks that proceed to attack opponents. If there is no water source where he happens to be fighting, Kisame can use Water Release: Exploding Water Shockwave to create a lake's worth of water to be used for attacks. Kisame is also noted to have a particularly large reserve of chakra; even when he fights at 30% power in one instance his chakra supply is compared to that of a Nine-Tailed Demon Fox-enhanced Naruto Uzumaki.

Matthieu is the easygoing, afro-haired pilot of the Terminus typeR606. He has a passion for music, and seems to be constantly bored. Matthieu seems to be responsible for gathering information from and maintaining contacts with ref boarders and DJs. Early on, he was one of the few members of the Gekkostate who showed any sympathy for Renton, although he played his fair share of jokes on him, too.   Matthieu and Hilda often act like husband and wife, though the two don't seem to share any such relationship apart from their arguing. Hilda orders Matthieu around as if he were her husband, and Matthieu treats Hilda as if she were his wife. He even calls her "honey" all the time.  __In Cardcaptor Sakura__ Touya is the brother of Sakura Kinomoto. His birthday is on February 29th, which makes him a leap year baby, a person that can only "properly" celebrate their birthday once every four years. He holds the belief that as Sakura's older brother, he is the only person entitled to make fun of her, a belief that his best friend Yukito Tsukishiro refers to as a "sister complex." However, he is also protective and caring of her, which leads him to dislike Syaoran Li when he finds Syaoran cornering Sakura in the schoolyard. Though Syaoran and Sakura eventually stop fighting, Toya continues to dislike Syaoran when he becomes friends with Sakura, knowing that Syaoran will eventually take Sakura away from him. He is a perceptive young man and has had a vague idea as to what Sakura has been up to as a Cardcaptor, despite Sakura's attempts to keep it a secret.  Toya's main relationship is with his best friend Yukito. Throughout the series Toya and Yukito are extremely close and eventually Yukito openly admits his love for Toya to Sakura after Toya saves his life.Toya was born with some magical ability, allowing him to see ghosts (including the one of his late mother). Don Patch is a happy-go-lucky character, more so than anyone else on Bo-bobo's team. He is an orange, round creature, possibly a parody of Sonic the Hedgehog or Ristar. While facing extreme danger and the many powerful and troublesome threats in this world, he usually keeps his chin up and either finds or says something that completely destroys the mood of the battle or makes things even more bizarre. Most of his cheerfulness comes from his hajike way of life, where he must always be doing something bizarre or else he'll be completely uncontrollable. Even during the most serious times, Don Patch can never take anything too seriously (nor can any of the other principal characters for that matter, save Beauty and Heppokomaru). He joins up with Bo-bobo's team after they take down C-Block together.

Jima one of two government persocoms who are looking for Chii. They do not want her to execute her final program, which they believe would destroy the person-recognition abilities of every persocom on the planet. It is believed that the program will execute when Chii finds the person just for her. Jima, however, believes that this may not necessarily be true, and genuinely wants Chii to find happiness. He lies to Dita about Chii's whereabouts and stalls as long as possible before finally going to stop her. In the manga, Jima physically restrains Dita from attacking Chii. Jima is also the Japanese government's national data bank, and during the course of the series an attempt is made by Yuzuki to hack into him to gain information on Chii. In the anime, Jima remarks that he and Dita were created from the same basic system that Chii is, rendering them immune to her ability to immobilize persocoms.

A Tokyo University graduate and professor who specialises in archaeology, appearing to be a parody of Indiana Jones. Like Keitaro, he was a third-year ronin. He&#039;s clumsy (especially with women), a terrible driver (his arrival often heralded by his van crashing down from the sky), and an exceptionally skilled martial artist, all partly due to his complete lack of self-preservation.

Yoshito Kikuchi is one of Eikichi Onizuka's students. This computer prodigy (scoring the highest without certain "aid" in the country, on a standardized test) serves as class president and is also notorious for making pornographic composite photos, during Onizuka's arrival at the Holy Forest Academy. He tries to blackmail him into resignation with several pictures posted all across the school for everyone to see. Onizuka catches Kikuchi and instead of punishing him, hires him to make composite pictures of Azusa Fuyutsuki and other female teachers, much to his surprise.

Kikuchi eventually befriends Onizuka, and later helps Noboru Yoshikawa prevent Anko Uehara's mother, the president of the local Parent-Teacher Association, from getting Onizuka fired. Kikuchi is an amateur martial artist, having prior experience in judo and other techniques learned from Mayu Wakui. It is revealed after the examinations that he was the one who switched Onizuka's test papers for a perfect score. When questioned about the actual results that Onizuka has, Kikuchi calculates it himself, and is thoroughly surprised at the score (it is unknown whether Onizuka actually did score perfect, or a score befitting his intelligence), and asks him directly, to which his teacher replies that he definitely received a perfect score. In the manga, a possible relationship is hinted between him and Ai Tokiwa, after some intervention and a forced embrace from Onizuka.

Bunshichi parents are relatively young since they had him at an early age and own a rice shop that Bunshichi helps run. He has been a senior for 3 years, but still has not graduated. He is not unintelligent, rather he claims the Shin incident ruined his beautiful school life causing him not to graduate.After having to fight his friend and the break up of Katana, Bunshichi prefers to stay away from the school&#039;s politics. He joined the original Juuken Club solely so they would have enough members to compete in the election tournament. Later as a member of the Enforcement Group, Mitsuomi Takayanagi appoints him as the advisor (essentially their strategist), where he again does nothing claiming he only signed up in name only. Bunshichi is perverted, usually focusing on women with big breasts, which he refers as deadly weapons. In the manga he repeatedly threatens to rape people, it is a joke of his own perversion, as he has not carried out these threats.Despite his appearance and attitude, when Bunshichi actually fights, he is quite dangerous. He was ranked as the strongest fighter in Todou until Mitsuomi won the Tournament 2 years ago. During his time as the commander of Katana&#039;s Special Forces, he single-handedly defeated all their enemies. He became known as a so-called &quot;God of Fighting&quot; as a result.Bunshichi is likely one of the few characters that might be capable of lasting the full 3 minutes with Mitsuomi. He is easily one of the most powerful characters in the series. However, Bunshichi seems to be on his own side, Emi Isuzu even refers to him as a possible enemy despite the fact he too is part of the Enforcement Group. Despite how powerful he is, Bunshichi is frequently used as comic relief.

He is known for playing tough or grouchy men in dubbed anime and video games. His career includes Hotohori in Fushigi Yūgi and Jin in Samurai Champloo. He also played numerous cameos and minor characters in Rurouni Kenshin, in addition to the major character of Hajime Saito. He also does Don Patch in Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo as well as Gabumon and other voices in Digimon.  According to Anime News Network, Thornton has the most credits of any male voice actor and he is second in total voice actor credits only next to Wendee Lee. He has been in nearly two hundred voice-over productions for Japanese animation.  Thornton is also well-known for having played many different minor voice roles throughout the Power Rangers franchise (and similar series such as VR Troopers and Masked Rider).  Thornton has also had experience with ADR direction. Currently, he is co-directing the ADR for the popular anime series Bleach alongside Wendee Lee.
