Alain was the sergeant of the Company B, the troops assigned to Lady Oscar&#039;s service in the National Guard. He accepted Oscar at first, and even befriended Andr&eacute; and smuggled him in the troops, but after learning the truth about her he violently rejected her leadership. Oscar had to fight him to win Alain and the group&#039;s respect back, since they refused to be ordered around by a noble. After losing to Oscar and begging her to save the life of a companion who was about to be executed, which she did, Alain forgave Oscar and became fiercely devoted to her, even falling in love with her in the manga; still, he knew he couldn&#039;t fight against her feelings for Andr&eacute;. Albert was originally from Germany. He and his fiancée Hilda attempted to escape to West Berlin in the guise of circus members (Albert drove a truck with an animal cage; Hilda dressed up in a lioness costume and stayed in the cage with an actual lion; this is in the manga, since in the 1980 movie and the 2001 series Hilda was Albert's co-pilot). However, because Albert forgot to retrieve his forged identification from a guard, he panicked and sped off. The border guards opened fire on the truck, injuring Albert and killing Hilda in the process. Black Ghost agents arrived on the scene and lied that they would take Albert to a hospital. In the 2001 series, upon waking up as a cyborg, Albert was stricken with despair and developed suicidal tendencies, worsened by the side effects of his modifications which caused him additional physical pain and strain. This ultimately forced Black Ghost to halt the cyborg program for decades, and put the existing cyborgs in suspended animation until technology developed far enough to make future cyborg soldiers more stable.

The second pilot of Getter Robo, Hayato is portrayed as a psychopathic yet highly intelligent delinquent. He is first seen as the leader of a student revolutionary group, but is captured by the Saotome Research Institute after a fight with Ryoma and pulled into the Getter Robo storyline, initially as the pilot of Getter-2. He is the only character to have appeared in every Getter Robo series and has fulfilled many roles, from being a regular teenager to an adult colonel and an aging scientist.    Like the other Getter Robo characters, his portrayal is drastically different in the 1970s TV series. While still a rebel and a loner, he is far less cold and cruel.

Alex Caselnes is a vice admiral serving in the Free Planets Alliance. A genius at logistics, he is a military bureaucrat expertising in supply and rear-line support. Uncompromising and possessed with a sharp tongue, he is hated by many of his more authoritative superiors, but at the same time easy going and caring, he has earned the respect of his subordinates. He is one of Yang&#039;s oldest and closest friends, they met while he was the chief secretary of Yang&#039;s military school and came to Yang&#039;s aid numerous times.   Alex is married with Hortence Milbear and has two young daughters, his family is a very happy one and he is often used by his friends as an example for the ideal family man. He often encourages the melancholic and romantically incompetent Yang to marry and find the happiness that eludes him, in love and family. He is also the one who entrusted Julian Minci in Yang&#039;s care.

Zoll has appeared in both the original 1978 Space Pirate Captain Harlock series and in the feature film My Youth in Arcadia, sporting drastically differing appearances but with similar storylines. In Space Pirate, Zoll is a survivor of the Mazone invasion of his homeworld Tokarga. His people are assimilated into the Mazone caravan that is en route to earth, and the remaining military forces have been impressed into service in order to attack the Arcadia. Zoll is shamed by Harlock&#039;s show of respect, and escapes to confront the Mazone in a hopeless assault, lamenting that his two sons will remember him as a pawn of their enemies. He leaves in Harlock&#039;s keeping a memory device that holds vital information concerning the Mazone fleet.    Zoll appears again in Arcadia as a completely human-looking character, now a survivor of the Illumidas conquest of his homeworld. As before, his military has been given the task of assailing Harlock, whom they successfully drive back to earth. He has no sons, but rather a brother and sister, and when he learns of his planet&#039;s impending destruction by Illumidas, he and Harlock join forces in an attempt to mount a rescue of survivors on Tokarga. Zoll remains on earth to protect Maya and the other earth resistors, but dies during an uprising while attempting to save Maya and Emeraldas from execution, shot in the back by Prime Minister Triter.    Zoll appears again in Arcadia  as a completely human-looking character, now a survivor of the Illumidas  conquest of his homeworld. As before, his military has been given the task of assailing Harlock, whom they successfully drive back to earth. Lieutenant Commander Jamaican Daninghan is an arrogant Titan staff officer whose smug and condescending attitude alienates the soldiers under his command. Assigned to pursue the AEUG ship Argama after they steal the Gundam Mark-II prototype mobile suits, Jamaican takes command of the cruiser Alexandria and chases the Argama back and forth across the Earth Sphere.
