Consequently, if Escaflowne is destroyed, Van will die.  His destiny and Hitomi's are linked, and he is initially dependent on Hitomi's clairvoyant abilities, which save his life more than once. He also holds a grudge against Folken for leaving his native kingdom of Fanelia for Zaibach and Dornkirk for his grand ambitions. Keisuke Takahashi is the number two driver for the Red Suns. Keisuke drives FD3S and is a skilled driver, second only to his brother. Keisuke is a rather hot-headed young man and does not like losing. Keisuke is also known to drive with his emotions, for example if he realises that he cannot win his driving suffers and if he is in the lead he is carefree and much relaxed. Before Ryousuke got Keisuke involved in street racing he was the leader of a Bosozoku gang. He joins his brother's new team and has a rivalry with Takumi. Keisuke races the Hillclimb (Uphill) on most races, while Takumi races the downhill. Keisuke isn't analytical like his older brother, and Ryousuke's ability to compute and analyze amazes Keisuke. But at the same time, Keisuke's ability to think less while he is driving, and to do only what he feels amazes Ryosuke. While Ryousuke has decided that he won't race much longer, and that he will become a doctor in the future, Keisuke has dedicated his life to racing, his eventual goal is to become a professional racer. But first he must defeat Takumi. Though visibly getting along, they still have some kind of argumentation over who is the ace, he has respect for Takumi. He stated once he was not as strong minded as Takumi, because Takumi fell asleep really fast before a great battle, making him ask himself if he knew what was pressure.

Tao is the last remaining descendant of the ancient civilisation of Hiva. He lives on the island of Galapagos in a tree house built by him, his father and his grandfather. His only friend on the island is a parrot called Kukapetl.    Tao is the brains of the group, he carries an encyclopedia which has the knowledge of the Heva people. He like to plan what to do before hand and doesnt like Esteban's 'jump in and think what to do later' way of thinking, but he follows him anyway.    Tao has lived with the legend, handed down to him, that a girl with dark eyes (Zia) will lead him to the lands to the east.    Tao is also brave which is not shown as much but to save the Mayan people he destroys the Solaris (a giant ship made by the Heva people which uses the sun to power its self) from the Spanish.

A student at Tomobiki High School, Class 2-4, Ataru suffers from an incredible amount of bad luck, having been born on the unluckiest day of the Bhuddist calendar. He is very lecherous, stupid, and lazy. Though he often tries to escape from Lum and flirts with other women, he really does have feelings for her. Ataru's main goal in life is to live in the center of a harem composed of exotic and beautiful women (including Lum and most of her alien friends). His pick-up techniques would creep out most stalkers. Usually, he just walks up to a woman he's never met before and asks for her name, phone number, and address. Once he decides to go after a particular female, virtually no force on Earth (or from outer space) can stop him. He refused to admit it but, deep down, he proved in the later episodes that it was Lum that he truly loved.

His nickname is derived from his hairstyle ("permanent"), he is tall and skinny (though his nameless Manga counterpart had quite a fatter form). Perm often displays the most character development, including being the only one of the Stormtroopers to have a visible girlfriend.

Sakura's wandering monk uncle. Cherry's real name is Sakuranbou, which literally means “cherry” in Japanese. But because the word's kanji can be read to mean "deranged monk," a phrase that is quite accurate in describing him, he prefers to be called by the English word. Cherry has amazing spiritual powers (or so he claims) and he often predicts doom for Ataru (no great feat). He has a habit of popping up out of nowhere, often from very strange places. His ugly face and very short stature are frequently used for comedic effect. Cherry has made a vow of asceticism, living in a tent in an empty lot not far from Ataru's house. However, this vow apparently doesn't apply to food, as he is an enormous mooch. Rei Hino of Sailor Moon's Grandpa looks a lot like Cherry.

Matthieu is the easygoing, afro-haired pilot of the Terminus typeR606. He has a passion for music, and seems to be constantly bored. Matthieu seems to be responsible for gathering information from and maintaining contacts with ref boarders and DJs. Early on, he was one of the few members of the Gekkostate who showed any sympathy for Renton, although he played his fair share of jokes on him, too.   Matthieu and Hilda often act like husband and wife, though the two don't seem to share any such relationship apart from their arguing. Hilda orders Matthieu around as if he were her husband, and Matthieu treats Hilda as if she were his wife. He even calls her "honey" all the time. Rock is a recurrent character in Osamu Tezuka's manga series, and he is an important part of Osamu Tezuka's Star System. Rock is a young boy with shiny dark hair. He first appeared in the manga series Detective Boy Rock Holmes, as a child detective. While most of other Tezuka child characters stayed the same age, Rock grew up throughout the years and his character was reused for more mature "roles" in Tezuka's manga, where he gradually developed a darker personality.

Often cold and brutal, his character tends to be used as an antagonist, who later, in works such as Phoenix, kidnapped and murdered people. In this older form, Rock is often wearing a three-piece suit, a striped tie and dark sunglasses, the last of which became something of a trademark for him.

Best known to American audiences for his dark and violent roles in the Metropolis movie and second volume of Alabaster, Rock is sometimes good, sometimes evil, but always determined, absolute and charismatic.

Fei Long is a fictional character in the Street Fighter series. He made his first appearance in Super Street Fighter II in 1993 as one of the four new characters introduced in the game. In the series, he is a martial artist and action movie star.

Yasuo is Sachiko's husband, who has abandoned her and is currently in a dilapidated shack that can be aptly described as a dump, dwells. It all actually started very well, they loved each other, had a shared house and Sachiko was also pregnant. Zazie reappears one last time as an odd-looking man in disco-clothing in order to deliver his coin to Vash. It is revealed that these bodies are human, but are controlled by a small worm-like creature that lives inside it, similar to the one Zazie tried to implant in Knives. A young man named Nobuo Tanaka, who has come down with the flu. After receiving a flu shot at a doctor's office, he goes to work as a lab technician in a bio-research facility. At a colleague's insistence, he takes some experimental pills found on the facility's director's desk. The pills turn out to be part of a biological weapon program, reacting to the chemicals in the flu shot inside his body. Tanaka soon acquires a (literally) deadly body odor and becomes a walking weapon of mass destruction. After waking up from a nap, he finds everyone in the facility dead, though at first he thinks they are just unconscious. He reports the incident to headquarters and is instructed to deliver some papers and the experimental drug to Tokyo. The head of the research company and the Japanese military later realize that Tanaka is causing the poisonous gas and order him to be killed.
