Bulma is originally a secondary main character, but her role is quickly downplayed as the series continues, even though she does remain an important support character for most of the series. Bulma is a direct parody of the character Xuanzang from the Chinese novel Journey to the West. Even though Bulma's character parodies a monk, her Japanese name "Buruma" is the brand of a popular gym short worn by girls in Japan. Her re-adapted name Bulma is a direct take on the word "bloomers", which was a popular brand of women's underwear in the early 20th century.  Bulma is the second character to be introduced in the Dragon Ball series. In the early part of the story, she is the inventor of the Dragon Radar and is searching for the legendary Dragon Balls. Bulma was hoping to use the Dragon Balls to wish for the perfect boyfriend. While searching for a nearby Dragon Ball, she runs into Son Goku. It is at this time that she finds out Goku inherited one of the balls (the four-star ball) she is searching for from his Grandpa Gohan. Because of Goku's love for the ball and his belief that his Grandpa's spirit lives in the ball, Goku is not willing to give it up. Bulma then asks him to loan it for her in exchange of taking him in her travels. At that point, they team up to find the remainder of the balls and the adventure begins. In the later action-oriented episodes of the series, there is little room for a genius but Bulma continues to play a role as a secondary character, helping Goku and his friends with her gadgets, and having a rather rocky relationship with Yamcha.




She is a scheming freelance writer (and is conspicuous in her lack of writing). A model example of a parasite single, Kitsune lives to enjoy the easy life, and frequently scams others by any means possible. She is frequently drunk, and bottles can be found hidden all over her room. Her greatest joy seems to be teasing Keitaro, even though she clearly cares for him. She is a school friend of Naru and tries her best (or worst) to make Keitaro and Naru get married. In order to maintain her finances, she often bets on horse races. In the anime, Kitsune speaks with an Osaka accent, which seems to imply a connection between her sly, money-minded personality and a common stereotype about people who hail from that region.

Ahiru is in all reality, a duck herself; however, in the beginning of the series she was turned into a human girl by Drosselmeyer. He also bestowed upon her a pendant which causes Ahiru to transform into her other-self, Princess Tutu. This was all caused by her desire to see Mytho, the Prince of the story, smile. It turns out her role as Princess Tutu is to gather Mytho's missing heart so he can gain back the many feelings of sadness and happiness.

~!In the end of the manga, she does not die or turn into a duck. She forms a friendship with Rue, Fakir, and Mytho - who she still loves.!~

After losing for some time Tomoko's support, object of sometimes excessive attentions from the devoted and troubled Mariko Shinobu, Nanako finds comfort in the letters she writes to her "dear brother", Takehiko, in the friendship of Kaoru, who protects her more than once, and most of all in her deep interest for the charming and mysterious Saint Just, who Nanako probably feels very close in her sufferings...

In the end, Nanako will be deeply affected by her experiences at Seiran, by the contact with a world that taught her what jealousy, envy and torments behind her imagination and innocence are....

Ai Kaminari is Gan's girlfriend, and the only daughter of a shopkeeper who sells electrical appliances. She is Gan's loyal follower. She is often seen constructing and modifying machines with Gan. She is "Yatterman No. 2" (ヤッターマン-2, Yattāman Ni-go?), and uses a telescoping baton called "Electric Stick" to emit electric currents to shock opponents.[3] In the 2008 version of the show, she often refer things as "100%" (for example "We are in 100% of trouble")

Momoko is a 6th grader and Satsuki's best friend. She seems to fear nothing, even in very dangerous situations, and is very brave when it comes to helping Satsuki and the gang confront the ghosts. She also seems to have a psychic connection with Satsuki's mother. In the Spanish Dub, she was named as &quot;Nicole&quot;

Noin is a good friend of Zechs from his days at the Lake Victoria military academy. After graduation, she joined the academy&#039;s staff, and now trains new Specials recruits in the art of space combat. Though Noin is a formidable mobile suit pilot, she doesn&#039;t much care for fighting, and she often uses her influence with OZ&#039;s leader [Treize Khushrenada] to try to resolve crisis situations peacefully. At an unknown date, Milliardo  and Noin marry and have twins, Naina and Milou. While Zechs leaves with Naina to travel Mars under a new alias, Noin stays behind with Milou. Her elder brother, Nix-Deuf Noinheim, is the President of a large Corporation and takes Milliardo&#039;s name as his own alias, under which he becomes the first President of Mars. When he is assassinated by an anti-Mars Federation rebel group, Noin and her children attend the funeral- notably not shedding any tears for the dead &quot;Milliardo&quot;, with Zechs standing behind them.  !~

Eiko is a fellow actress of Chiyoko&#039;s that is jealous of her youth.     ~!Flashbacks reveal that Eiko plotted to rid her films of Chiyoko from the start upon seeing the height of Chiyoko&#039;s talent. At first this works, and Chiyoko drops out of her first movie to follow the man she had met back home. Chiyoko returns to films, however, and Eiko finally steals Chiyoko&#039;s key out of hopes that Chiyoko will lose her drive to continue movies.!~

Not exactly a recurring character, she however has a prototype: a transforming lady robot  called Jet, a supporting character in a minor work Whirlwind Z (Tezuka Osamu manga zenshu:, vol.52. Sempu: Z. Tokyo, &quot;Kodansha&quot;, 1978).         In 1979 a film critic K.Ono interviewing Tezuka mentioned Jet and said that a transforming robot would make for some interesting animation. According to the film's pamphlet, this was how the idea of Olga was conceived.         Olga also makes a cameo appearance in one of Tezuka's later comics, Rainbow Parakeet (Tezuka Osamu manga zenshu:, vol.2 Nanairo Inko. Tokyo, &quot;Kodansha&quot;, 1994). Since the title character of the series is, apart from being a thief, an actor, there are many theatre references, and the chapter in which Olga appears is named, uncoincidentally, Waiting for Godot after the surrealistic play by Samuel Beckett. As in the play, Godot (or, in this case, Godo?) himself does not appear. As in the film, Olga is a robot. Everything else is quite different from either film or play, with Olga being abused, broken, stolen and finally drowning in the sea &quot;to wait for Godot for ever&quot;.
