It is the year 0088 of the Universal Century in Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ. The badly damaged assault cruiser Argama docks at the run-down space colony of Shangri-La for much-needed repairs. While the Argama is in drydock, a young junk dealer named Judau Ashta sneaks aboard in an attempt to steal the Zeta Gundam. He wants to sell it in order to help his sister, but instead he finds himself coerced into joining the Argama’s crew. Unfortunately for Judau, the Argama is being pursued by a dedicated Neo Zeon officer named Mashymre Cello. In order to protect both his sister and himself, Judau must master the Argama’s newest mobile suit, the ZZ Gundam.

The Axis, which was supposed to have been struck by Camille, is still alive! Our new hero, Judau Ashta, gets into the super mobile suit "ZZ Gundam" and fights against them!

A recap of Gundam, Gundam Z, Gundam ZZ, and Char's Counterattack as experienced by Char Aznable, as well as a precursor to Gundam Unicorn. 
Originally a live event consisting of a public recitation done by Char's voice actor with simultaneous screenings of the animes, the DVD version fades to and from the recitation and the anime.

A series of short films packaged with certain model kits and aired at conventions, the Gundam Evolve series chronicles a number of side-stories, alternative scenes, and even bonus omake from all around the Gundam canon. Featuring a mix of animation media—from traditional cels to 3-D CG rendering to even cel-shaded 2-D animation—these often 3-5 minute shorts cover such events as Domon Kasshu's training (and a bit of a romantic tift with Rain Mikamura) from G Gundam, Amuro Ray battling Quess Paraya from Char's Counterattack, Kamille Bidan training in the Gundam Mk.II from Zeta Gundam, and Canard Pars dueling Prayer Reverie from the Gundam SEED X Astray manga.

Recap of Mobile Suit Gundam, Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ and Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack focusing on Newtype and Zeonism ideals told before UC episode 7.

As the continuation of Zeta Gundam, this series once again follows the story of the Anti Earth Union Group (AEUG) battleship Argama after Zeta's final episode. To fight off the Axis Zeon, now called the Neo Zeon, Captain Bright Noa recruits a group of teenage junk collectors led by the loudmouthed but powerful Newtype Judau Ashta to pilot the Argama's mobile suits. Now sporting a line up of the behemoth MSZ-010 Double Zeta Gundam and the returning MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam, RX-178 Gundam Mk-II and Gundam-like MSN-00100 Hyaku Shiki, the group is nicknamed the Gundam Team. As such, this became the first of a number of Gundam series where a team of Gundam mobile suits fight alongside each other regularly. The climax takes place at Side 3 in the Battle of Axis.

A Gundam Memorial from the point of view of Bright Noah, a man who has watched numerous Gundam pilots and Newtypes! What did Bright feel when he saw Amuro, Kamille, and Judau?

The Japanese modeling magazine, Model Graphix, began to serialize an original monthly Gundam novel named Gundam Sentinel (&#12460;&#12531;&#12480;&#12512;&#12539;&#12475;&#12531;&#12481;&#12493;&#12523;). The series ran from 1987, until its conclusion in the month of August in 1988. Gundam Sentinel became a cult hit, due to its super-detailed mechanical designs of the series and the intricate story by veteran writer and Mobile Suit Gundam fan, Masaya Takahashi. Set during the same timeframe as Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ, after the fall of the Titans the Earth Federation sends an expeditionary force called Task Force Alpha, to deal with a group of elite Federation officers who have formed their own Earth-supremacist faction, the New Desides. 
Gundam Sentinel took on a much more realistic, technical style of thinking and look at the Gundam universe, where mobile suits were seen more as fighter jets or military weapons, rather than as cartoonish robots. They were larger, their weapons more powerful than their predecessors', the characters were older and the plot was on a smaller scale than what is usually found in other Gundam. It also marked the debut of Hajime Katoki, who would become one of the franchise's most prolific mechanical designers. Gundam Sentinel is perhaps the best-known Gundam side-story ever written, and is said to be for the most mature of Gundam fans. 
The series was never animated (although a short animated television commercial for a Gundam Sentinel model kit was made) or released as a manga. However, the model kits continue to be popular among Gundam fans and new Sentinel designs crop up every now and then. 
After Gundam Sentinel completed its run, all of the individual articles were compiled by Model Graphix, some new material and artwork was added, and it was published as a 320-page photo-novel, under the title Gundam Wars III. It was released in September of 1989, is highly regarded as one of the best Gundam novels ever written. 
In July of 1990, the story was again republished as a novel titled Gundam Sentinel: Alice's Confession.
