Hayato is one of Amuro's best friends in Side 7. He joins the White Base crew to prove that he has much use as anyone else. He teams up with Ryu in the Guntank and they both make a good team at taking out Zeon Mobile Suits.   ~! After the One Year War, Hayato marries Fraw and adopts Katz, Letz, and Kikka. He becomes the leader of a resistance group called the Karaba on Earth and they associate themselves with the AEUG. He uses old technology from an old Flight museum he has for his attacks against the Titans. !~

He wants to sell it in order to help his sister, but instead he finds himself coerced into joining the Argama’s crew. The greatest battle is about to begin, as many loved ones fall to the power of war. Can the Earth Federation defeat the Principality of Zeon? Can Char prove that he's a better Newtype than Amuro? All these questions will be answered now...

It is the year Universal Century 0079. Over 90 million humans populate the Earth, and many have been forced to live in space. People now live in large cylinder-like colony clusters called Sides, all ruled over by the "Earth Federation Space Force" (E.F.S.F.). Around this time, a group of colonies called Side 3, located near the dark side of the moon, proclaimed themselves independent from the Earth Federation and made themselves known as the "Principality of Zeon". 
 
Now the war has gone on for eight months and doesn't seem to be ending any time soon. Both factions are at a stalemate. As a last resort, the Federation attempts to produce a new, stronger force to fight against the Zeonic armies. They create the White Base and a powerful Mobile Suit called the "Gundam". However, these suits are piloted by youths...

As the War continues, Amuro and the White Base crew must make their way toward the Earth Federation Headquarters, Jaburo. On their way they will meet several new enemies and face off against impossible odds. They will fight in Operation Odessa to relieve the Earth from the clutches of the Zeon forces. 
Lives will be lost, new friendships will be made, and discoveries lie at every corner. Amuro soon learns that he possesses the power of the mysterious Newtypes.

The novels, issued as a series of three books, allowed him to depict his story in a more sophisticated, adult, and detailed fashion.
