D's constant companion is his talking left hand, sometimes reffered to as the Countenanced Carbuncle. It is revealed that this is some sort of symbiotic entity which has taken up residence in D's hand, although why he has done so is not clear. The hand (or 'Lefty' as fans have affectionately termed him) appears to have supernatural powers independent from his host, and occasionally uses them to help D. Tsuru-Sen'nin (Crane Sage) is the older brother of Tao Pai Pai, and master to Tenshinhan and Chaozu. In an early Harmony Gold English dub from the 1980s, he is known as Lord Wu Zu.  He was once comrades with Muten-Roshi and studied under the same Martial Arts school. However, they were defeated by the evil forces of the Piccolo Daimaō and their mentor and sensei Mutaito-sama died after sealing the demon away. Over time, bitterness and resentment began to grow in his heart and he eventually turned away from his master's old teachings and began a school where his hatred of the world began to spread among his pupils.  In the 22nd Tenka-ichi Budokai, he entered his two star pupils, Tenshinhan and Chaozu to counter Muten-Roshi's pupils, Goku, Kuririn, and Yamcha.   ~!After Tenshinhan and Chaozu left him, he had his brother Tao Pai Pai rebuilt back to life as a cyborg (Tao was blown up by his own grenade that Goku kicked back at him), and had him enter in the 23rd Tenka-ichi Budōkai to exact revenge on both Tenshinhan and Goku. Tenshinhan, however, easily knocks out Tao with a punch and warns Tsuru-Sen'nin that he never wants to see both of them again.!~

Dyce is a citizen of Industria, and the captain of the ship "Barracuda". He was ordered to kidnap Lana prior to the start of series, but let her escape due to his obsession with his captive. Dyce is initially a comedic villain in the show, but eventually becomes one of Conan's allies.

Karin is a Senbyou who has lived at the top of Karin Tower for more than 800 years. The tower is located right underneath Kami's Lookout, which is a few hundred meters[verification needed] higher than Karin's tower and can be reached by Son Goku's nyoi-bō. Karin is a deity just below the rank of Kami, and plays a large role in Dragon Ball when he trains Goku during the Commander Red Saga to defeat Tao Pai Pai. At later points in the series and in Dragon Ball Z, Karin lends his assistance periodically to Goku and the other characters by growing them Senzu, which only grow in a tree in his tower.  He is voiced in the original Japanese version by Ichirō Nagai and then later by Naoki Tatsuta.

A psychologist who deals in counseling as well as assisting recovering alcoholics. He is caught up in the mystery surrounding the Monster after one of his patients, Richard Braun, supposedly dies in a drunken accident while investigating Johan Liebert. Later on, he becomes guardian to Dieter and aids Tenma in any way he can while defending Tenma&#039;s character. He also provides psychological care to Nina, Eva, and others. The Character of Dr. Reichwein bears a physical resemblance to the American Actor Wilford Brimley and Shunsaku Ban from Astroboy. Naoki Urasawa has also used the physical appearance of Brimley in the Pluto manga as well. First seen in Chapter 49.

Shogun Mouro is a general in the army and is [Colonel Muska](https://anilist.co/character/8526/Muska)'s subordinate.

Mouro is a stocky, bald man with a thick, grey mustache and heavy, dark eyebrows. He always wears his military uniform and has two medals pinned to his chest.

Mouro is abrasive and aggressive, and he likes being in control. He resents Muska's authority over the army and the Laputa project, and he is sometimes suspicious of Muska's actions, such as Muska's methods of dealing with [Sheeta](https://anilist.co/character/8523/Sheeta) after her capture.

Yawara's grandfather, Jigorō, is a 7th-dan Judo Master and 5-time National Champion. His passion for judo is rivaled only by his love for Yawara and food. He has great expectations for Yawara's career, and is constantly pushing her to do her best and focus primarily on judo. His motto is &quot;Judo was not built in a day&quot;. He also does work on the side as a bone-setting doctor.

__Nen type:__ Enhancement

None other than the Chairman of the Hunter Committee, and the final authority over the entirety of the Hunter Exam. He has enough administrative power to grant anyone the Hunter's license if he decides to do so, and enough combat power to playfully avoid attacks of the main heroes single-handedly when they challenge him. All examiners, even the most despotic ones, obey his orders without talking back.  He was said to be the strongest Nen user in the world 50 years ago, but he comments that he is already past his prime at his current age and that his subordinates might be stronger than him now (yet his direct subordinates disagree). Netero is also revealed to be older than Zeno Zoldyck (Killua's Grandfather), who is said to be 67 years of age. 

At one point, Zeno says that when he was still a young boy, Netero was not only already old, but he is the only person alive who has fought with Maha (Zeno's) grandfather. Various stated times would put Netero over the three digit mark. He is able to use attacks faster than the speed of sound. He also uses the hyakushiki kannon which is also known as the 'Hundred Style of Buddha'. This utilizes nen to make the attacks seem as if they had come from another side and or dimension, simply because they move so fast.  In the manga he is also shown fighting chimera ants and is heading towards the destined fight with the King. His assistants Morau and Novu note that he was the strongest Nen user 50 years ago, and show great respect for his abilities.





Soun and Genma trained during their youths with the evil and perverted Happosai. The little man is THE master of Anything Goes Martial arts (Musabetsu Kakutō Ryū). He is also a panty thief and lecher beyond belief. In return for training, he berated and cajolled his two unwilling students into helping him with his panty raids and peeping expiditions. More often than not, they would end up humiliated or injured in the process. Once they had finally finished their training (ie: escaped) they were able to get on with their lives. That is, until Happosai returned to select the next Anything Goes master.   What he found when he reached the Tendou Dojo was Ranma. Disgustingly enough, Happosai leched onto girl-type Ranma, even though he knows Ranma is a boy.   Taking up residence at the Tendou Dojo, he began extending Ranma's training. He also began to expand his panty raids into the surrounding neighborhood, as well as the Tendou girls' bedrooms.   Happosai is a tiny, yet immensely powerful martial artist. He usually wears a purple coverall, or occasionally a green bathing suit. When on his panty raids, he often wears a scarf as a mask. He is bald, with white fringes and a white moustache.   Happosai is a master martial artist and deceptively strong for his size. His only real weakness is his perverted nature. Happosai would leap in front of a speeding train for a pair of girl's panties. Often times he is foiled by a well placed bra, and if he cannot lech onto some poor, unsuspecting girl, or Ranma, he goes into an addict's withdrawl syndrome. His power comes entirely from his lust, and can be easily defeated by denying it.   Happosai is master of many magical martial arts attacks, although many are really just special effects. For example, his world feared 'Happo-dai-karin' (Happo Fire Blast) Technique is really just a firework and a match. He does however, posess several powerful special energy techniques, as well.

Degwin was Zeon&#039;s chief of staff and claimed that on his deathbed, Zeon, with his dying words, declared Degwin his successor. Given this much, general consensus tends to automatically connect Degwin Zabi with the sudden death of Zeon Deikun, but nothing concrete has ever been uncovered. Degwin initiated a purge of Deikun loyalists and declared Side 3 colony the Principality of Zeon and himself as Archduke. He initiated a war with the Earth Federation and set his children up in high-ranking positions.

Sakura's wandering monk uncle. Cherry's real name is Sakuranbou, which literally means “cherry” in Japanese. But because the word's kanji can be read to mean "deranged monk," a phrase that is quite accurate in describing him, he prefers to be called by the English word. Cherry has amazing spiritual powers (or so he claims) and he often predicts doom for Ataru (no great feat). He has a habit of popping up out of nowhere, often from very strange places. His ugly face and very short stature are frequently used for comedic effect. Cherry has made a vow of asceticism, living in a tent in an empty lot not far from Ataru's house. However, this vow apparently doesn't apply to food, as he is an enormous mooch. Rei Hino of Sailor Moon's Grandpa looks a lot like Cherry.

Hamegg is one of [Osamu Tezuka](https://anilist.co/staff/96938)’s most widely used character actors.  Motivated by greed, he is extremely dishonest and a true coward – character traits that make him perfect as a cringe-worthy villain.  He is usually cast alongside [Acetylene Lamp](https://anilist.co/character/33515) (in a partnership Tezuka thought worked particularly well) as a henchman or lackey to another star, such as [Duke Red](https://anilist.co/character/31681), Skunk Kusai or Marukabi Boon.

His roles run the gamut from lighthearted comedy to darker, more violent characters, and oftentimes the parts he plays involve elements of both.

As one of Tezuka’s oldest characters, he appeared for the first time in Tezuka’s early amateur work, The Old Man’s Treasure Island (1945).  Of course, with a repetoire as large as his, he has had many memorable performances, including as Secret Police Inspector Akabane in [A Message to Adolf](https://anilist.co/manga/31695) (1983-85), the hunter in [Jungle Emperor](https://anilist.co/manga/31771) (1950-54), and numerous ones in [Astro Boy](https://anilist.co/manga/30728) (1952-86).

In another example of Tezuka using English words in pun-like fashion, Hamegg’s name is directly lifted from a popular breakfast combination.

Distinguishing Features
With his round head, permanent grin and large, peering eyes (patterned after Hollywood actor Peter Lorre), Hamegg’s appearance is one of the most distinctive among Tezuka’s varied cast, and help illustrate him as a consummate shyster.

During the terrorist activity at the official residence &quot;Laplace&quot; he came into possession of a strange object (U.C.001). Though underworld connections he married into the Vist family and became the head of the influential Vist Foundation. He is still alive in U.C.0096 as he used cryonics.

Taihei Hiraga is a Japanese zoologist and father of Taichi Hiraga-Keaton.  He was married to Patricia Keaton, an Englishwoman. After the couple separated, Taihei remained in Japan while Patricia returned to England with their then 5 year old son.

General Dominov is the leader of the remaining forces of the East&rsquo;s army in Australia. He coordinates his forces closely with Nelson&rsquo;s after they learn to trust each other at the end of the first chapter of the story.

Konaki Jijii is a comic, absent-minded old yōkai man who attacks enemies by clinging to them and turning himself to stone, increasing his weight immensely and pinning them down. He and Sunakake Babaa often work as a team. The original konaki jijii is a ghost which is said to appear in the woods of Tokushima Prefecture in the form of a crying infant. When it is picked up by some hapless traveller, it increases its weight until it crushes him.

He was represented by Tokyo Actor's Consumer's Cooperative Society and after by Aoni Production.

He passed away on January 27, 2014 at the age of 82 due to ischemic heart disease or coronary artery disease.
