Alphonse Elric is a human child who lost his body during a forbidden alchemical transmutation to bring his deceased mother back to life, and had his soul transmuted into a suit of armor by his brother, Edward Elric. 

Al's blood seal lies just below the base of the neck at the back of the suit, on the inside. It is drawn with Ed's blood. According to Edward, he needs to be careful whenever he reconstructs Alphonse's body because he must keep the blood seal intact during the transmutation. If the blood seal is removed, Al's soul will be lost.

Akito is the head of the Souma clan and very frail. He often runs fevers and rarely walks out of the main house other than to greet some of the Zodiac members, such as [Yuki](https://anilist.co/character/208) and [Shigure](https://anilist.co/character/206), that live in the outside world. Akito has a definite mean streak, and has physically and emotionally scarred many members of the Souma family, but Akito's rule in the Souma clan is absolute, and none dare oppose him.

A possible part of Akito's curse was that he would only live to be thirty. At a certain point in the Zodiac's life, Akito wishes to force them to live within the Souma compound with him for the rest of their lives in a never-ending "banquet". He even describes himself as the "Master of their (the Zodiac) Souls".

He has a deep hatred of [Kyou Souma](https://anilist.co/character/209), the Cat, whom he believes should be isolated for the rest of his life. He hates [Tohru](https://anilist.co/character/207) most of all, since everyone seems to love and protect her.

Ginko employs himself as a Mushi master (mushi-shi), traveling from place to place to research Mushi and aid people suffering from problems caused by them. Ginko's unusual white hair and green eye color is the result of an incident involving a mushi that occurred when he was a child.

While designing the character, Mushishi-writer and -artist [Urushibara](https://anilist.co/staff/97394/Urushibara-Yuki) actually planned to have the story take place in a contemporary setting. Ginko's rather modern clothes, which do not seem to match the time period reflected by all other characters, still reflect this.

Ginko is a rare person who attracts mushi. This inspires his peripatetic lifestyle; staying in one place too long will gather a potentially dangerous amount of mushi. He also smokes constantly in order to keep mushi away.  In terms of personality, Ginko is rather laid back, but can be very serious when it comes to protecting people from mushi. He also often stresses that the mushi are not evil, but they merely exist as a part of the nature and try to survive like every other living being.

As he had no place to go, Nui decided to care for him instead of making him leave. Red-Haired Shanks is a legendary and powerful pirate in the Grand Line, being the captain of the Red-Haired Pirate Crew. Furthermore, he is [Monkey D. Overall, he is greatly respected by most of the characters, despite having a 'soft' and friendly nature and never appearing in actual combat ~!until he started a fight with [Whitebeard](https://anilist.co/character/2751/Edward-Newgate).!~ As a whole, he does not make many appearances in the series, although he appears in a majority of the opening or closing themes of the anime.  Shanks always wears a long black cape over his shoulders and until he met Luffy, wore a straw hat that he had worn for many years beforehand. He always wears trousers that are cut below the knee as well as a pair of sandals. Count Reinhard von Lohengramm is a young admiral in the Galactic Empire.

He was born Reinhard von Müsel to an impoverished aristocratic family. His mother died when he was very young and he only has faint memories of her. His father's will was shattered at about the same time and the only person left to care for young Reinhard was his beloved older sister [Annerose](https://anilist.co/character/13100/von-Grnewald-Annerose). When Reinhard was about ten years old, his family had to move into a middle class suburban neighborhood. There he met [Siegfried Kircheis](https://anilist.co/character/12550/Kircheis-Siegfried) who would become his best and perhaps only friend, but whatever happiness Reinhard managed to find as a child was to be short-lived.

The emperor [Friedrich IV](https://anilist.co/character/313169/von-Goldenbaum-IV-Friedrich) took a liking to his sister and ordered her to move into his palace and become his new concubine. Afraid that if she refused she would bring down the emperor's wrath on her younger brother, Annerose reluctantly accepted and her father even managed to get some money out of it. Infuriated Reinhard swore vengeance against the emperor, vengeance against the Goldenbaum dynasty and vengeance against the oppressive nobility. He swore that he would never rest until he freed his sister of her predicament and became powerful enough never to be ordered by anyone again.

To achieve his goals and with Kircheis by his side, Reinhard joined the military. He quickly rose through the ranks and after proving his ability time and again to the hostile and corrupt nobility, ever reluctant to accept a fallen aristocrat like him into their ranks, he became an imperial high admiral and was elevated to peerage as the "count of Lohengramm". As he steps into the admiralty, the Emperor gives him the prototype battleship Brünhild, which serves as Reinhards flagship from then on.

Nicknamed "Blonde Brat" by his enemies and "Golden Lion" by his friends, Reinhard is a handsome and gifted individual, a superb tactician and an unequaled strategist. Brave and noble, he always leads his fleets from the front, much to the admiration, as well as the horror, of his subordinates. Ambitious and determined, Reinhard is only hindered by his immeasurable pride, his warlike nature and the turmoil in his heart.

Is the cloned son of Yomi. He is created so that Yomi will have a better chance of winning. Despite this, Yomi truly loves him and trains him in earnest.

Making his first appearance in Chapter 49 of the manga (Volume 9), Manabe appears at first as a rather lazy, yet outgoing and joyful young man, and has not changed since. Acting as Vice President of Kaibara High School's student council, Kakeru is &quot;second-in-command of the School's Defense Force&quot; and more than passionately works to be one of what he thinks is a Super Sentai type of job, often stating that he's &quot;Black&quot; (as in the black Goranger) while Yuki is &quot;Red&quot; (the leader). Manabe can also be described as a younger version of Ayame Sohma (whom Manabe, upon meeting, immediately hugged and said no other person would be fit to be the Defence Force's commander), Yuki's older brother, and often is seen having striking similarities in personality. Yuki also compares him to Kyo with his ability to make friends.    Though he might appear constantly happy and joyous on the outside, Manabe actually at times looks down on himself, and can often get serious if he sees the need to.    

Manabe is always fascinated by the Sohma family's beauty, as he is occasionally seen asking different Sohma family members their secret to their handsomeness.    

~!Manabe is also the half-brother of Machi Kuragi, the quiet and pensive treasurer. He is very protective of her and can often be seen ordering her around, though rather out of love than sibling superiority. They share the same father, but have different mothers. According to Kakeru, he is the illegitimate son of their father, but because he was older than Machi and the only son, their mothers got into a heated dispute as to who was to be their father's heir. Machi's mother was particularly hard on Machi, forcing her to be as perfect as possible, so that as the legitimate child of her father, she would become the family's heir over Kakeru. The matter was settled when Machi's younger brother was born and Machi was brushed aside. As a result, Kakeru feels he needs to take care of his younger sister given that he feels she has been treated unfairly and she has become unloved. Manabe tells Yuki at one point that he himself noticed how stupid the inheritance dispute was and told his mother that he would not take part in it. He'd go on a rampage and shout the words, &quot;I'm not gonna play your stupid game anymore!.&quot; Which soon made his mother realize that he was right. He told Yuki that this made him &quot;officially free.&quot; He also said &quot;maybe that means Machi hasn't gained her freedom yet.&quot;

Although Machi and her mother still need to work things out, Kakeru and his mother seem to get along fine, though they argue regularly about trivial matters very loudly, which results in complaint from the landlord. Kakeru's mother seems to have decided that she doesn't care about the inheritance anymore.    Due to his vice presidential status he is also very acquainted to Yuki Sohma, the student council president. Together the two, although their differences are quite obvious and their personalities at times clash with one another, have developed a rather bonded relationship and the two are now finally seen smiling together in some parts of the manga, rather than Manabe just teasing Yuki, or falling asleep while Yuki is talking. !~

After losing his father and his brother, both members of the SDF (the Space Defense Force), Manabu decides to join up himself. On the way, he meets up with Louis Fort Drake, another new member of the SDF.  He's initially hated by Bruce for his pacifist attitudes and blithe refusal to carry a gun (other than the one he inherited from his father, which also doesn't work), and, like most youngsters, he's a bit of a hothead. Through the various missions undertaken, some of them more peculiar than others, he eventually settles into the role as an SDF member.

The main antagonist. Apparently he is only using [Kagura](https://anilist.co/character/2956/Tennouzu-Kagura) and her [mother](https://anilist.co/character/11168/Tennouzu-Shinsen) to extend his influence and profits, but there is a hidden vengeance plan in his agenda.

He is a Euphoria with the ability to manipulate his own blood and use it at will to attack and defend. He carries around a music box that belonged to his younger sister, Yui. His real name is Ueno Takeshi.

Suitengu once had a normal life with his family. However, his parents were deep in debt with the Tennouzu's Group's predecessors (the Ashikaga Group) and were murdered. Yui and Suitengu were separated, the thirteen year old boy given to the mercies of a perverted and lecherous man before being sold as a child soldier while the five year old girl was sold as a prostitute. Suitengo grew up on the battlefield, told that every kill he made reduced his parents' debt and brought him that much closer to freedom. His last mission was infiltrating a research lab, but the facility was destroyed and Suitengu was severely wounded, even dismembered, in the destruction. However, he contracted the Euphoria virus as a result of this and was thus retreived and repaired by the research lab's remaining scientists so that they could preserve their work.

Suitengu despises the fact that his family and his life were ruined for money and as such secretly holds a deep hatred for it. Eventually he was reunited with his sister, but her state of mind had been shattered and he mercifully killed her to end her life as a prostitute. His ultimate goal was to take revenge on the Prime Minister who destroyed his peaceful life and punish people steeped in greed and money by causing the entire country to go bankrupt.

A 6th grade student and the Elementary School Board Chairman. The youngest son of the Imonoyama zaibatsu, the founders of Clamp School, he has inherited the family fondness of doing absurd things just for the sake of doing them. Nokoru has one of the top IQs in a school full of geniuses and NASA has been vying for the mind of the elementary schooler. He also has the unique ability to detect a lady in distress from two kilometers away. For this reason, he established the Clamp School Detective Agency, although this was also an incentive to get out of his Chairman duties. He is also the only one out of the three young detectives that doesn&#039;t play a sport.

In the Manga Leon is a young boy with a great distrust of adults and society, as he is a survivor of a war where all adults were killed, including his parents, and only children surived. He travels on a snowboard, and has the power to control air, managing to suffocate people, control air currents, among many things. Leon's Tao Power is called "Wind".  In the Anime He is part of a group of orphans that includes Tim Vertical. Constantly being ignored or abused by the "adults" of society, Leon sought more power so that he could better protect his friends. Ironically, after he did gain this power, he had to leave his friends behind so that he could help the Apostles remake the world. Near the final part of the story, Leon's the one who volunteers to get the fireworks for Eve to hear to trigger a reaction that would stop her from uniting with Eden. Sakaeguchi is a very friendly person, who often tries to set Mihashi at ease. When Abe and Mihashi have trouble understanding each other (due to Abe&#039;s short temper and loud manner of speaking, and Mihashi&#039;s stammering and nervousness) Sakaeguchi generally attempts to mediate, being able to understand both of their mannerisms. He attended the same middle school as Abe, and they both played in the Seniors league, although they weren&#039;t friendly at this time as they were in different classes and on different baseball teams. Under stress, Sakaeguchi is known to get diarrhea, a trait revealed to everyone by Abe, who noticed it during their high school entrance exams. As a batter, Sakaeguchi is exceptionally good at bunting and usually bats in the leadoff position.

Minotia is a character from Dragon Ball Z Movie #13: Wrath of the Dragon. He is the younger brother of Tapion.     He assisted Tapion in trying to stop a monster, Hirudegarn, from destroying their race on Planet Konats. In the end Minotia and Tapion subdued Hirudegarn by having the monster sealed away inside of their bodies and then sealed into two separate magical containers. The lower half of the monster was sealed inside Minotia.   Tapion's Brother, Minosha.Minotia was freed by the evil magician Hoy and trapped by Hirudegarn. Only after the monster is defeated, Minotia is freed from Hirudegarn.

They continued this practice for many years, until Hohenheim fell in love and married Trisha Elric. After they sired Edward and Alphonse, he left for fear Dante would use them against him, and also because he felt ashamed of his past. Like Dante, his flesh is wearing away, so he must wear cologne to mask the scent. He can transmute without circles, because when he died, he saw past the gate, as did Dante. !~  He (in the manga and 2009 series) is...  ~! a human Philosopher's Stone. Homunculus (Father) was a test subject at a lab in which Hohenheim worked (in fact, Father was the one who named Hohenheim). The king of Xerxes demanded the secret of immortality from the homunculus, and he obliged. a country wide transmutation is formed, and everything is working as planned. However, at the last minute, Father lies about where the center of the circle is, and engulfs both himself and Hohenheim into the gate. Hohenheim wakes to see everybody in his country dead. He meets Homunculus, who tells him everything, how he has now gained half of the powers of the stone. Homunculus did this out of gratitude. after these events, Hohenheim travels to Xing, and founds the art of Alkahestry.!~

Prince of Pars. 14 years old. Arslan is frequently misinterpreted by those around him as being a weakling, because of his effete appearance, naivete, compassion, and optimism. While these are true to a point, Arslan is also philosophical, intelligent, and charismatic, able to rally even the most apathetic of people to his cause. He is dedicated to his friends, especially Daryun, at one time threatening to kill an ally who had got Daryun into a particularly nasty situation.

A kleptomaniac and an informant to Assistant Warden Tamaki, Yoh was hired to watch over Ganta in return of large amounts for Cast Points. Though apparently friendly and polite, in truth he is ruthless, scheming and somehow paranoid, given his position as a spy for the prison's staff. A rarity among the prison population, Yoh made himself captured and sent to Deadman Wonderland in hopes to find his sister Minatsuki and buy her freedom with the accumulated Cast Points he got from Tamaki. He cares deeply about her, so much so that he is often thought of suffering from a sister complex, much to Minatsuki's disgust. The two eventually manage to forge an estranged relationship. Chevalier d&#039;Autriche, age 56, is the Secretary General of the GOTT and head of the GU Economic Dept. Despite the fact that he&#039;s a Nouvlesse, Chevalier is a key figure to &Eacute;clair&#039;s past and her forgotten former lives. In his lifetime, he has never forgotten &Eacute;clair and is always willing to help her. He worked his way up to his current position all for Eclair&#039;s sake (it is revealed late in the show that Chevalier is &Eacute;clair&#039;s adopted son.) His name is French, literally meaning &quot;Knight of Austria&quot;.      ~!Chevalier was reborn at the end of the Kiddy Grade series as a baby. Aaron is an American voice actor who works for anime series of Funimation Entertainment.  He started voice acting when he was nine years old as the voice of Hiro Sohma and the young Akito Sohma in Fruits Basket. He was only twelve years old when he voiced the role of Alphonse Elric in Fullmetal Alchemist, and is a cousin of voice actor and director Justin Cook. Aaron was one of few child voice actors in the voice acting field.  Due to his voice maturing, he was replaced by Maxey Whitehead for his role of Alphonse Elric in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, but makes a cameo as the voice of the young Van Hohenheim, Edward and Alphonse's father.
