Graduated from the Salvager training school with barely passing grades, he joins K2 Corporation through a relative. His father is the president of a major salvaging company. The main character, the series follows his rapid development from living an average life to becoming an outstanding guitarist. Being a weak individual lacking an authoritative presence , he cannot help but let others push him around, a possible metaphoric stereotype on the very proper and manner conscious Japanese society. Recruited as the last member of BECK, he serves as the second guitarist and vocalist, and has a very beautiful voice that is mostly used for Beck&#039;s slower songs. He owns a Fender Telecaster.

Nike, (pronounced Nee-kay) is the Hero of the show. Nike&#039;s father had always wished to be a hero, but due to the lack of any great evil to fight against he had to give his dream up. Still, he made his son undergo hard training as a child in hopes that one day a great evil would arise and Nike could fight it. Because of this Nike is a competent, although cowardly, fighter, however like Kukuri he is initially immature and inexperienced. Nike is from Jimuna Mura (which translates to Plain Old Town). Initially Nike does not want to be a hero, but his parents end up forcing him to.

Shinji Ikari is the Third Child ('Third Children' in Japanese), who pilots Unit 01. He is the son of Gendo and the late Yui Ikari. Abandoned by his father, Gendo, when he was a toddler, Shinji often ran away from difficult situations. As a pilot, he panics easily and reacts very poorly to unexpected events.

He is a Seiryuu Celestial Warrior. He is the elder twin brother of Suboshi and was born in Tenryou, San&#039;un Province in Kutou Empire. The true name is Koutoku Bu, born under the star Neck. As a Celestial Warrior, Amiboshi is capable of emitting chi through his mouth and channel it through a flute to control the will of others. A skilled flute player, Amiboshi holds the instrument to the left when using his powers, but to the right when he is simply playing the flute. He works as a spy. Tranquil and reserved, Amiboshi can become single-minded and merciless.

He is a Seiryuu Celestial Warrior and the younger twin brother of Amiboshi. The true name is Shunkaku Bu, born under the star Horn. As a Celestial Warrior, he is able to use a secret weapon known as the Ryuuseisui, a double meteor bell, and control it with his will alone. He and his brother are also able to communicate with one another by writing messages on their bodies.    In terms of temperament, Suboshi is fierce, impulsive, and stubborn to a fault, unwilling to listen to reason once he becomes determined to do something. He and his brother are extremely close as a result of their losing their parents at a young age and having a tough childhood. Suboshi is particularly devoted to his brother and will not hesitate to kill if it means protecting Amiboshi, even killing fellow Seiryuu warrior Tomo without a second thought for this reason alone.

Natsume is a extremely intelligent, to the point of being considered a genius, and despite this, ditches class frequently. Hated and feared by a lot of students at the academy because of his dangerous Alice and cold attitude. Due to the isolation he feels from most of his classmates and hatred many student feel about him he is often bullied even though he comes to ignore it, although the class he is a part of holds him in very high regard and often follows his orders. He is thoroughly unhappy with the school and is always suspicious of the intentions of adults because he believes that they use their power over the younger students to hurt and abuse. 

He possesses the fire Alice. It is revealed early on that since Natsume has such a powerful Alice, it causes a lot of stress on his body to use and shortens his lifespan immensely. He had been showing the symptoms of a life shortening Alice for a year before the start of the series and had been progressing quickly due to the constant use of his abilities for missions for the Academy. Because of this, he can be seen quite a few times through the manga coughing blood or even going unconcious.

An elementary school student chosen by Dendoh to be one of its pilots during a Garufa raid on Earth. Hokuto is intelligent and studious, with great skill in using computers and an interest in Soccer. His level-headed and incisive demeanor contrasts and complements that of his fellow Dendoh pilot Ginga Izumo, who tends to be short-tempered and impulsive. Hokuto has great talent in being able to reproduce the body movements of others, allowing him to synchronize with the martial artist Ginga&#039;s controls while piloting Dendoh.

Ryou is the brilliant yet sensitive character one of the three. He was the head of the Kubere's Project Achilles to create Gawl. He feels a heavy remorse and guilt over his experiments on Gawl.

Shinpachi Shimura works under Gintoki to learn the ways of the samurai. He used to stay at his family's dōjo. However, it seems more like he's just trying to help Gintoki pay the rent than to learn. Shinpachi is the captain of the "Otsu's Imperial Guard," a pop singer's fan club.  Shinpachi meets Gintoki after Shinpachi was tripped by the ambassador of Planet Chatoran. Gintoki beats up the ambassador and his guards, not to stand up for Shinpachi, but to get revenge for his spilled parfait. Gintoki frames Shinpachi for the crime, which somehow led to him saving Shimura Tae (Otae), Shinpachi's sister, from becoming part of a brothel.  Despite his meek appearance, Shinpachi is a more than competent swordsman of his family's Kakidō-Ryu, the type of swordsmanship his dojo teaches.  In the character popularity poll, he was in 8th place.  His name is roughly based on Shinsengumi member Nagakura Shinpachi and comedian Ken Shimura.

Noboru is Mikako's best friend with whom she is in love. He talks to her via text messages after she leaves earth.

Hojo is a boy at Kagome&#039;s school, and forms a giant crush for Kagome. He completely believes she&#039;s sick all the time and goes out of his way to bring her things to make her feel better.    After Inuyasha forced Kagome back to her own time Kagome had an actual date with Hojo. But she was so worried about Inuyasha&#039;s wounds that she ran out of the restaurant in the middle of everything to try and return to the past. She often tries to convince herself that she really loves Hojo, but she always seems to take Inuyasha over Hojo if she has the choice.    On a side note, Hojo&#039;s ancestor, Hojo Akitoki, shows up back in the past, and he is also in love with Kagome. He appears first in the second movie, Castle Beyond the Looking Glass, and then later in Episode 137: The Ancestor&#039;s Name Is Kagome. Hojo Akitoki looks a lot like the present day Hojo, except with a different hair-style and his hair and eye color are a lighter brown.    On March 14, 2006, on Inuyasha, they mentioned a sword of Kaijimbo before Tokijin was made. This sword gave bad luck to the Hojo family. The first officer of the Nadesico, Jun has no small infatuation for Yurika, leaving a position in the Earth&#039;s military to join her crew and &quot;look out for her&quot;. She is clueless of how he feels and considers him her &quot;best friend&quot;, though the rest of the crew realize his feelings.  A common running gag is Jun&#039;s misunderstanding of Yurika&#039;s special efforts, such as preparing food--he believes it is for him, but it always ends up being for Akito, with him being passed by.

Dortin is the voice of reason (that is never paid any attention to) on his and Volkan's quests. He is kind and knowledgable, though something of a nerd. The more serious and colder of the twins. He takes his duty to obtain the Penguin Drum seriously, willing to resort to any method to obtain it, whether legal or not. He has red hair and is more popular with girls than his brother. He has a past history as a playboy, dating girls only to dump them later on, causing some heartbroken girls to join forces to take revenge on him. Kanba seems to actually harbor feelings for Himari.  Both Kanba, Shouma and Ringo were born on the day of the sarin gas attack on the Tokyo subway.  Throughout the story, his feelings and motivation to keep Himari alive become more visible. It is also shown that he is responsible as the eldest to maintain their finances and lifestyle.   ~! A fun-loving, care-free boy who uses Babbo as his &Auml;RM.  Shinichi Okazaki is the bass player of Blast, and youngest member of the band, being only 15 years old.  Shin was born in Sweden, he speaks British English with a Swedish accent. Due to his dysfunctional family, Shin left his home and abandoned his original family name.    ~!He moonlights as a male prostitute, with Reira being one of his clients. Among other things, he is an expert mahjong player and a confidant and early roommate to Nobu. He stops seeing Reira to protect her status and his own feelings—also possibly sparked from fear by Takumi's warning.   Ryouko Kawashigi, one of his older clients, bears a striking resemblance to Reira and he sees her again after the two musicians ended their relationship. She lives near his parents' apartment, works as a stewardess, and is the one that taught Shin "bad things". He and Ryouko were put under arrest for possession of marijuana which caused BLAST to withdraw from their tour. In the future it is shown he has become an actor. !~

Yahiko is a samurai descendant. Yahiko's father died during the Battle of Ueno during the Boshin War, slain at the Keneiji Temple. His mother died of syphilis in a brothel to put food on their table not long after giving birth to her son. Yahiko was originally forced to live as a thief for the local Yakuza, who tricked him into believing that he still had to pay off the money the gangsters gave to his mother to buy medicine. With the help of Himura Kenshin and Kamiya Kaoru, he becomes an apprentice of the Kamiya Kasshin-Ryu style. Yahiko has a friend/rival, Tsukayama Yutaro and a sweetheart, Sanjo Tsubame, who works at Akabeko.

The leader of the "Body Moles," a group of troublemakers who constantly break the rules. His skill at wielding thymia is the best out of everyone on the Mud Whale. He has a strong desire to see a world beyond the Mud Whale.

Squad Captain of the Special Operations Squad (known as Squad Levi) within the Survey Corps. He is known as humanity's strongest soldier. 

Levi is abrasive, blunt, and has a strong respect for structure and discipline. He is a clean-freak, demanding spotless cleanliness of himself, his equipment, and his environment. Rumors say he was involved in underground crime in his life before coming a soldier. Despite his emotionless and unfriendly demeanor, Levi cares deeply for his squad and greatly values human life. 

Gilbert Bougainvillea is a character in the Violet Evergarden series. He is a major in the Leidenschaftlich army who values Violet more than anything, seeing her as a human being rather than a tool.

~!Violet was "given" to Gilbert as a gift to commemorate his promotion, having being promoted to a major in light of his wartime achievements and expectations from his bloodline. Dietfried, not wanting to take care of Violet, pushed this task to his younger brother. Gilbert then decided to enlist her on a militant unit that he had been appointed to take overall command of in his promotion to major.
